Shula's Steak House - Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I have dined at Shula's several times. I can say, without a doubt, the food and service is always exceptional. I'm a fan of the seafood and no one prepares blackened scallops as well as Shula's. The barbecue shrimp is phenomenal and the lobster tail is perfectly prepared every time. The consistency is very rewarding. We've never had a bad experience at this restaurant. Oh, and let's not forget the bread! Again, the best I've ever had. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would, and do so quite often, recommend Shula's to anyone who wants a perfectly prepared mean and a great atmosphere. I sometimes think Shula's should pay me for advertising. Yes, that's how much I recommend this place.
Great restaurant. We had reservations and were there about 15 minutes early but we still had to wait around 30 minutes to be seated. Food was fantastic. The only negative is that we had to walk through the casino and the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. The few minutes to get to the restaurant caused our clothes to stink. If there was another entrance to avoid the foul smell of the casino would have made the experience 100% better.
Be sure to make reservations especially on the weekends. We’ve eaten several Shula’s across the country. Every one has been superb. Steaks are the thing to have but there are other options for all tastes. There are several types of sauces but we go for the bare essentials. If you steak is not prepared to your satisfaction they will rectify with no question. Share the sides they’re plenty for two
Our 5th visit. Valentines Day. Put us in a small room with a big screen. Forgot to bring my wine order and cocktail order. We used to say it was top steak house in the valley. Fine dining should never include a T.V. We did have reservations. Food was not up to standards. My wedge salad had brown throughout. Our last trip to Shulas. Sorry.
We've been going to Shula's for special occasions for several years.
This Valentine's dinner was a disappointment -- the steak was not up to the usual quality -- dry! (And grilled charred rare! But although pink - not red- it was dry and had little taste!)
The lobster bisque was the usual excellent quality!
The special Valentine dessert was acceptable.
If we go back we'll definitely stick w/ our usual selections.
The special dinner was a lesser quality -- and disappointing for this restaurant's dining standard, and not special!
My husband and I went for an early valentines dinner as we had other plans on the actual valentine’s day. I prefer this actually, no too crowded, regular menu and excellent food and service as always. We’ve also been to the Shula’s in Miami, and food is just as good, as well as the service. Top notch wait staff and the amibiance is wonderful for a romantic dinner.
Services by Mario was impeccable, the rest was ok. We were a party of 5 and had been seated in a room that was a little more private which was great until the obnoxiously loud and drunk party of six were seated in the same room. Terribly disappointing, we couldn't hold a conversation without trying to yell over them. Steaks were served to desired wellness but lacked the fresh of the grill shine and was warm at best. Sad to leave such a great cut of beef wasting away in the window. Crab cakes were fishy and sent back but never removed from the bill. We have had a good meal there in the past when it was much slower.
The filet mignon was cooked perfectly but lacked taste, the salmon, which was the market fish of the day, was very dry and the crab cake could have had a little more seasoning. The side dishes were really good though. The potatoes au gratin and sauteed mushrooms were wonderful. The waitress was very friendly.
Absolutely would not recommend or go to this restaurant again. The steaks in which this restaurant are known for were dry, flavorless, overcooked and way overpriced for what they were. If your going to sell $40-$90 steaks you should know how to cook them. They didn't care and the manager didn't even come by to make sure things were corrected. What a disappointment! Not to mention the mood killer of a table next to us speaking so loud and swearing just about every other word that we couldn't even swallow the dry meat. Disappointing!
Was fabulous-1st time dining here & it did not disappoint! Was celebrating a birthday & the food was divine, great cocktails & the service was superb. Definitely will be going here again for a special occasion-treat yourself to fine dining once in a while!!!! I enjoyed a couple of their signature "old fashioned"cocktails, oysters on the half shell, filet mignon -Oscar style, great special salad, & we had special delicious birthday cake options for the special occasion...My Birthday.
The food was very good. The prices are very high! When your retired you can't go there
too often.. The place we go to usually is 1/2 what this is!!!!! The service wasn't as good
as it could of been. The main waiter never came by much. The other servers where
better. Won't be going back anytime soon..... toooooooooo much !!!!
Shula's was really good. I put in a request to have a booth and they honored the request and put us in a very nice booth. The waitress was great.. she was pleasant and was so quick with the drinks. Then we ordered the food and it was so tasty. The dessert was the best part. the molten lava cake was to die for. We will definitely go back just for that :-)
Six of us together celebrating year were greeted seated and waited upon right at the reservation time. We came for meat but started with a seafood platter. Great wedge salads. Tremendous steaks. The biggest baked potatoes we've seen. Lovely mac and cheese. No way we could do desert
Shula's motto is something like "Still undefeated"... not any more. We've previously enjoyed several top notch dinners at Shula's and (until now) have placed it at the top, but what a MAJOR disappointment this time. They ruined our anniversary dinner. Marco greeted us politely, but after the standard speech, which he apparently has memorized, he was pretty much pretending to be in "Gone With The Wind". His associate, Cassandra, wasn't much better. My filet was great, but my wife's was worse than anything she's had at the Keg or Fleming's., and after all, the evening was for her. My drink was allowed to run dry, and I actually had to try to flag one of them down to come to the table (and NEVER used to have to do that). At the end, Cassandra fairly threw the bill on the table and walked away while saying "Have a good evening" walking off in the other direction! Now, mind you, there was nothing wrong, nothing hostile, and they weren't busy. It was just really strange, and a big move downward from our previous experiences. I would easily rate Keg better, Fleming's equal or better, and can honestly say we won't be back to Shula's given the competitive market and much more reasonably priced alternatives to Shula's.
The 3 stars is due to the restaurant not having clear communication over the phone when we called with specific questions. They made up for it when we got there! Food and Service was excellent, I would highly recommend for a special occasion. Pricing was similar to Ruth Chris Steak House, I would pick Shula’s hands down over other Steak and Seafood restaurants.
1. Table was not ready and we had to wait 20 mins
2. Requested booth but they stated none available. However, 3 booths were empty all night
3. Service poor
4. Servers got drinks/wine order wrong twice
5. Servers forgot to bring dessert but still charged us
6. Manager never came to check on us
Expect much better at those prices
Manager should be made aware; embarrassing and shameful
This was a most disappointing dining experience I have had for at least the last 2 years
Our reservations was for 6:30 PM .
We were a party of 4
2 of us ordered the prime rib ( rare) which we were informed the kitchen had 1 rib and it was no longer rare or maybe not even med rare So we had to change our order
After ordering our salad, entre, sides and wine all at the same time
Our meals were served but the sides served were not correct
After starting eating our meals we had to ask when our wine was coming
Our coffee was served luke warm with our desert
We all have enjoyed dinner at Shula's many times before but this experience was a good reason not to come back
We all have noticed a much poorer customer service consideration at Wild Horse Pass casino starting in 2017
We will be finding other venue's for our entertainment dollars
