Shula's Steak House - Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino Ratings and Reviews
Great food, steaks were excellent and cooked as ordered and all items were well prepared. Service was very good at beginning of meal and during the meal. Unfortunately the server did not come back to ask us if we wanted dessert until a long time after we were done. By then we had given up on dessert and just wanted the check. Other than this one hiccup in the service I would definitely recommend the restaurant. On a side note their Lemon Drop drinks were awesome.
I am a steak guy in quest of the very best I beef I can find. Shula's is a very solid steakhouse entry. Excellent quality, very toothsome KC steak. Slightly past the medium rare I ordered but not too far over the mark. Service is on the razor's edge of being a little too much but really a quite nice waitperson. Table ordered sides of baked potato and Brussels sprouts were serviceable. (Personal view--Potato choice is a bit pedestrian but no complaints about prep.) One of the best features: too many places have good wines that are not ready to drink; Shula's has done a very good job of offering a fair number of good wines that are actually ready to drink. They aren't cheap (and there's no reason they should be). We had an excellent 2006 high-end California red blend. Good show!
Everything was delicious only disappointment was we requested a booth and although I saw one available, we were sat at a table. When I mentioned our request, I was told that there booths are large and can hold larger parties.....strange, since we've sat in booths many times with only the 2 of us and this was a Wednesday night, not sure the real reason.
We had a good experience. The only drawback was when requesting a to go box the server did not pack up one of our vegetables (more than half a serving left, not sure why he did not bag it up) he instead sit the plate on top of the vegetables and when I asked about it he lifted the plate and attempted to bag up the vegetables that plate had been sitting on top of ..... my wife was insulted, but we just settled our bill and left. I thought that was pretty messed up, for us that was a special date night because we can't afford to eat at these types restaurants to often ... anyhoo ... we had a good time except for that and of course the loudness of the place felt like we were at a night club or something
Service was exceptional...the food was very mediocre....my steak was cooked to medium though I ordered medium rare...a restaurant that is known for their steaks should know the difference....the crab cakes were bland....the carrot cake was ok but not great....for s
Not terribly impressed with this place. For a $36 steak, it was dry and rather bland. The “twice-baked” potato was bland and dry as well. For a high-end restaurant, service was lacking - and not because the place was full of occupants.
Would NOT recommend. Not a good value AT ALL.
Does not live up to the hype. Waiter spent several minutes telling us how great their Beef was.... how it was aged... how it was the BEST Prime cut.... how skilled their Chefs are at preparation. BS. I wouldn't say this was the worst Filet I ever had, but it certainly was not the best. Ordered 8 oz Filet cooked Medium Rare. Filet arrived at the plate Medium to Medium Well. Waiter did not check. An aged Medium Rare Filet should be Buttery. This was dry and chewy. Bad meal all around. To make matters worst, I attended the University of Miami in Florida when Don Shula was Dolphins Coach. Been waiting these many years to eat in one of his restaurants... what a major disappointment. $200 bucks, and I honestly believe I could have had a better meal at Arbys.
This is one of my all time favorite places to dine. When asked what I wanted for my birthday by my husband, my only reply was take me out for a steak at Shula's! Such a delicious cut of meat and the sides are to die for. The wine by the bottle list is endless and the desserts are yummy. I love this place!
