Shulas has gone way down hill. Service was very unprofessional. Ambiance changed when they eliminated table cloths. Have gone there steadily for ten years... doubt I will return.
I was sorry to see the downsized menu and the lack of table linens. No big deal on the meats display, but it was fun if you had a first time visitor.
Great new bartender! Can never go wrong at Shula's !
Steak and sides we're excellent. Ambiance in the restaurant was very pleasant.
The menu has changed, it is no longer a 5 star restaurant.
Anniversary dinner. Food was fantastic. Portions too big to finish. Taste and presentation spot on. Very friendly. They even had a happy anniversary placard on our table.
Service was not as good as the past
Highly recommended! Great food - everything was awesome, from the steaks and sides, to the service (thank you Brian & Tyler)!
We are so sad to discover that our favorite place to celebrate with our family for years had decided to change thier menu and scaled back on the linen table clothes to cut cost but increase menu prices for a profit. Our regular servers were always amazing , but couldn't support what this chain is doing.
My deepest condolences.
We simply did not see why the new changes were considered an improvement.
My husband and I have been coming here for the last 3 years in Dec. and Jan. We have always had an outstanding experience. The food is some of the best in the valley. My filet was so tender and flavorful. My husband had blackened salmon and it too, was excellent. We will keep coming back for our special occassions.
We were seated immediately, with a very nice waiter. Had the New Years Eve special that was delicious. Crab cakes, steak & lobster, with a strawberry champange cheesecake dessert.
We went for my husband's birthday with our granddaughter and they made us feel comfortable. He even got a complimentary creme brulee. The food was excellent and the service was superb.
They sat us right up front by the bar. Noisy, everyone walking in walked by, but the food and service was good.
We thought Shula's would be a good choice for Christmas Day. We went at 3:00 to avoid loud crowds, and to enjoy a nice quiet romantic dinner together. We were seated in a room with two tables of ten, and we were in the middle. Not enjoyable. To top it off, when we got home there was an email from Open Table saying the restaurant reported that we didn't show up for our reservation. In retrospect, I wish we didn't.
Went for a Christmas Day dinner. Wait staff was extremely friendly knowledgeable and attentive. Went with high expectations. Wines were good Food was average. Nothing really really stood out for the price. My son had a bone in ribeye and it was very tough. Two other ribeyes were average. The seafood tower was done well and worth the price.
Xmas eve ! The service was good and the hostess and waiter were very friendly and welcoming .
I ordered a dry martini and returned it because the vodka was not good - they re made it with Tito’s and it was fine.
Ordered the calamari - it was really good - especially the dipping sauces it was served with.
We ordered 2 entrees of pan seared halibut - all 3 of us thought it was dry.
We told the waiter and asked him if anyone else had complained about it and he said yes.
He did not however send over the manager or offer to get us something else instead.
We ordered the mushroom side dish and it was delicious
We ordered the lemon tart for dessert - it was good.
We ordered a bottle of wine which was overpriced .
Overall we were disappointed with the main course and the value for the price.
Shula’s is hands down my favorite restaurant. I was a little nervous when I saw some not insignificant changes to the menu; especially the sides. I soon saw my concern was unnecessary. The sides were at least as good and maybe better! I nearly always have the 24 oz porterhouses steak. I like it very rare with a good char on the outside. It was cooked perfectly. My wife used to order the crab cakes main course. She was disappointed to see it only appeared as an appetizer. “Not to worry” she was told. They were clad to serve a crab cake main course. The crab cakes had changed to a Maryland style crab cake. We agreed it was outstanding. I start a Shula’s meal with aBombay Sapphire martini. I don’t know what the mixologist does but it is the best martini in the State. Shula’s is not inexpensive but for a special occasion you can’t do better!
Food was really good. It took a little while to get our bill but that was ok. It’s there was a loud party behind us and it made it really hard to hear. We would go back again.
Our steaks were great and cooked perfectly. We ordered the Whiskey enfused sweet potato. It was the best ever!!! I wish I had room to order another!!!
MENU CHANGES, SOME NOT GOOD. THE TRUFFLE CORN WAS EXCELLENT, BUT I HAVE BEEN COMING THERE FOR YEARS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE REMOVAL OF CRAB LEGS AND THE AUG GRATIN POTATOES WHICH EVEN OUR SERVER SAID WERE TWO OF THE MOST POPULAR ITEMS ON THE MENU. ALSO, I ORDERED AN EXPENSIVE BOTTLE OF CHARDONNAY AND IT WAS NOT EVEN PUT IN A WINE STAND WITH ICE AFTER OPENED. I ORDERED LOBSTER IN LEW OF CRAB LEGS AND IT WAS ADVERTISED ON MENU AS WHOLE LOBSTER AND CAME OUT SPLIT AND BROILED AND VERY OVER DONE AND VERY SMALL FOR THE MARKET PRICE. THEY SHOULD BE DONE FRESHLY STEAMED OR JUST DON'T DO WHOLE LOBSTER AT ALL. THE BAKED POTATO WAS MUCH SMALLER THAN USED TO BE AS WELL. MY FRIENDS FISH WAS OVERCOOKED. MY OTHER FRIENDS SHORT RIB WAS UNDER COOKED AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORK TENDER AND HE HAD TROUBLE CUTTING IT WITH A KNIFE. IT WAS MY 50TH BIRTHDAY AND WE SPENT OVER $500 AND WERE QUITE DISAPPOINTED.
Things have changed. Lobster bisque was tepid, not hot. No table cloths. Np football menu. No presentation of cuts of meat. Value for quality has disappeared.
Amazing customer service, we had our company dinner here and had an amazing time. Food was delicious and the customer service from the restaurant was top notch. Couldn’t complain about a thing.
Service was great and the food was amazing! Will be coming back!!!
The food, on the whole, is quite good. The ribeye steak that I ordered had more fat on it than I had expected, but everything we ordered tasted very good. We initially were seated next to a noisy table o eight, but the staff was very amenable when we asked to be moved.
Outstanding food, excellent service! A great birthday dinner
The menu has changed since the last time we were there and not as good. Prices went up, the. 8oz filet was eliminated and side dishes changed. I had the 6 oz. filet and it was quite thin and seemed to be smaller and than expected for the price of $39 with no sides included. It was my birthday and I received a free bowl of ice cream which was good but underwhelming. In past I believe they gave a delicious chocolate cake for birthdays.
Always outstanding! Service and food are the best! Recommend highly!
Food and service were good. But did not meet my expectations considering the price is a bit higher than other steak restaurants with as good or better food.
Make sure your food is completely cooked. Mine wasn't but they made up for it buy fixing it.
One of the worst Shulaz experiences we have had. Usually great steakhouses but this location was a let down. From the moment we arrived on.
The place was nice and the service was great. The food however lacked taste. The steak didn’t taste like a dry aged ribeye. The scallops were undercooked.
My husband and I used to absolutely love this place. We would go every anniversary. We have 5 kids and it is not in our budget to eat here regularly. This is the first time I have left disappointed. The food wasn't exceptional it was just okay. We had the scallops appetizer which was heavy with the potato under and even tasted similar to the steak. The reason we ordered is because we expected the seafood to help balance out the heavy of the meal. I then had the New York, Oscar Style and my husband had the Dry Aged Ribeye. They never asked us to check our steaks to make sure they were cooked properly which in the past they seemed to pay more attention to detail. My steak was supposed to be a med- rare and ended up very rare in the middle. Which is okay for me but not what I ordered and lacked flavor and the sauce on the oscar seemed to lack flavor and was runny. My husbands steak was great but I would expect so when paying $69. We also had two sides, Truffle Corn and Crab Mac the highlight of this entire meal ended up being the sides. It just was a bit of a disappointment. The ambiance was lacking and although I do think it was a good idea to get rid of the "steak printed football" they got rid of all the other special details that made this place exceptional. The lights were on to bright for a dinner service and there was no special attention to detail. The meal total was $330 with a tip and for two so I think I just expected it to compare to the past trips.
The steaks were very good but not quite up to other premier steak restaurants. I think the Shula's in Chicago was better. However, the prices were lower than others. My wife's scallops were superb.
It was my birthday and our anniversary and after telling our waiter, he barely acknowledged them. I would think that since our bill including tip was well over $300, the least we could have gotten was a dab of ice cream and a candle. Food was great, as always, but we won’t come here for a special occasion in the future.
Always a great dinner. Outstanding steaks and service.
sides were over-cooked/burnt... steaks weren't prepared properly.. steaks are way over-priced
Great spot! Very pleased every time. Bar is welcoming and drinks are made right. Nice for date night/ business travel . Need to make reservations prior to visit. Used Yelp to book my dinner reservation.
Had not been to Shula's several months. IN the past were very pleased with this restaurant. However, on this visit, were very disappointed. Do not know if it is a one time event or the restaurant has gone down hill. The restaurant was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke, which had drifted in from the casino floor below. This was not the case in the past. Service was slow. We felt ignored. The Thanksgiving special menu turkey was dry and portions were small, though they did offer to get more. The prime rib was of OK quality but not up to past standards. The cheesecake was very good. The regular menu appears to have been significantly reduced from the past and prices significantly raised. Finally, the bill had a couple of errors which increased the price about 15%. When pointed out they did correct it. Overall was disappointed. Will probably give them another chance given positive experiences in the past. However, if the next dinner is like this, would definitely not return.
Service slow. Waited along time for out food. Prime rib was a $10 upgrade from the turkey dinner and was over cooked and very thin. Spent over $250+ and was not a good value. We will not go back.
