Excellent food and service. Gary is an exceptional waiter. Dining room was very quiet at first, but picked up a little as our meal went on. Steak was excellent French onion soup was amazing. This place might not be as popular as it once was, but Shula’s is still a very nice place to enjoy a great meal. We will be back!
was not impressed with price per portions
More concerned with setting up (noisey) for table of 12-14
Apps didn’t come together
Drinks served after 1st app arrived
Been to other Shula’s and by far this was very disappointing
Outstanding flavor, amazing service and all in a quiet ambience. Great restaurant overall!
We were really excited about our dinner on NYE only to find a limited menu for the evening. They were already out of the cowboy ribeye at 7 pm which limited our choices more. The water glass had a chip in it which cut my lip ( they did comp our drinks), but after that our dinner went down hill. After they brought my wife’s salad our waiter says oh I didn’t bring you any bread would you like some bread?? Our waiter went and brought some bread then disappeared never offered my wife any fresh pepper for her salad as he happily grind pepper for the table next to us. The steak they brought was bland with no flavor what so ever, not what I expect for a $60 steak! The crab cakes were good, our bill came to 120$$ for an at best mediocre meal. Poor service and disappointing evening! Can’t recommend this establishment!
Excellent service & delicious food! We wanted to have dessert but we were just too full. Brussel sprout side dish was out table’s favorite!
Second year in a row that we have celebrated New Year's Eve at Shula's. Last year we were in Gainesville.
It was New Years Eve and our anniversary. We felt that we were being rushed to eat so they could get someone else in our space. We didn’t enjoy that at all.
The service and food is wonderful. We love to visit once or twice a year.
Lovely room, excellent service, very good food, prepared exactly as requested. Highly recommended.
I had higher expectations going in as I was told it was one of the best steakhouse's in Tampa. I would not put them in that bucket. The NY Strip was good, not amazing and not worth $48. The atmosphere was lacking, I felt like I was in any other hotel lobby restaurant...nothing special. The service was good, which made up for the atmosphere somewhat. Needless to say it was my 1st and last time.
Food and drinks were delicious, decor was just ok. I will go again for the food.
Good food. Excellent service!! Only no music in restaurant
Food terrible. Service OK. Will not return. Potatoes cold and bad. $100 for steaks. No better than Publix. Sent cold spinach back.
We arrived to find an almost deserted dining room. We were hoping for a romantic date night. But that didn’t happen. Our waiter was great, but my steak was ordered medium rare and delivered medium well. I almost NEVER send a steak back, but this was way off. I pointed it out to waiter, no apology. Took forever to get new steak, however it was presented by manager and Cooked correctly. No apology and my wife was done eating. Kinda ruined the whole night. Zero concessions from waiter or manager. Paid full price for completely failed attempt. With so many steak houses in Tampa, we were surprised. Probably will never go back.
The food is fabulous-a little pricey even with a free voucher for a meal and dessert I spent 175 and they put a 20% gratuity on it before the discount.
Needs a good vegetarian entree.
What happened? Is this restaurant location closing? Wait staff just didn't seem interested in providing service for what used to be a 4-star restaurant. Pack your own leftovers, clean and clear your own table. No steak presentation because it is a "waste of time and money". So surprised, and yet the food was good but if the service doesn't correlate with the food, then you are paying a lot of money to be treated this way.
Everything was fantastic. I rarely ever eat meat but their filet mignon is the best I’ve ever had. Thank you for the fantastic food and service.
The service was excellent. However, for the price of the steak, I expected it to be cooked perfectly. I asked for medium well. The steak was burnt on the outside and under cooked on the inside. We have been to Shula's 2 in Ohio many times. I have never had a bad steak at Shula's 2.
This has to be considered one of the great steakhouses. Even on Thanksgiving, a difficult night for both the restaurant...and a review...Shula's, based on personal service and outstanding food, was fantastic.
Will definitely be back to Shula's when in the Tampa area next time.
Went for their Thanksgiving 49.95 special. Soup was good. signature cocktail was bitter- cranberry puree and lemon overwhelmed the martini and it needed a balance of sweet. Then the bartender was walking around with a bag of Publix frozen cranberries to garnish which was a bit odd. We ordered the prime rib medium rare which had about 4 ounces of edible meat and the rest was fat. I asked for my food to go and all they brought back was the fat and threw away all of my sides. Eventually I wound up with a to go box of sides and a small decent piece of prime rib. It took an awful lot of back and forth with the server and busser to finally get the issue addressed. Dessert was pecan pie- like grocery store bakery quality. 2 martinis, 2 specials, 20% tip,and a $40 bottle of Cabernet set me back just over $200.00
Excellent food, service
Excellent food and service.
Food was better than second management team, but fell short of the original (1990's). Prices were high for some main items. Noise level was pleasant as they were not busy. Primary waiter was excellent (Ali). Drinks were weak. Wine was good but list is limited. Temperature was okay this time, but usually unbearably cold. Due to the excellent waiter and the volume not too busy, dinner went well.
Shula's never disappoints. Has the best filets in this part of Florida. Not inexpensive - dinner for two with moderately priced wine, shared appetizer, two filets and shared dessert with tax and an 18% tip comes to well over $200.
Very disappointed was there 10 yrs ago and service and food was campable to Berns. Not anymore, Staff not trained well, Chief undercooked our food had to send back twice just to get steaks at medium. will not be back.
We have eaten here many different times. You can always count on impeccable service which was also true on this occasion. The food too is typically excellent, but this time around my husband's steak was a little under done and my scallops were over cooked on one side. Still not so much on either that we had to send back. We really do enjoy Shula's and would highly recommend!
Everything was good. Crowd started to arrive by 730pm
My wife and I ate there on a Saturday night. Restaurant was a little more than half full, which meant great service from Gary and Paul, and the possibility of actually talking between ourselves. We both had steaks, which came out just right.
Steaks were spot on , it was not a busy night in the dining room but yet the staff had no attitude at all.
Very enjoyable experience.
We came on Halloween so there were very few diners which meant we got extraordinary service and attention! Paul, our server, always gives us this even when the restaurant is busy. I ordered the 12 oz strip with shrimp, a special that evening and my husband ordered the 8 oz filet. Both were cooked to the ideal temperature and absolutely delicious! We asked for the mushrooms without garlic and the chef complied. The split of Prosecco was just enough for oldsters like us and very reasonably priced; it was my birthday so sparkling wine was of the essence! Loved the birthday candle on my delicious molten chocolate cake and the substitution of chocolate ice cream for the regular vanilla. Everyone at Shula's is so accommodating! A plus is the basket of a loaf of hot bread served with a huge pat of butter on an accompanying plate to occupy one while waiting for the main event. We really enjoyed my birthday dinner!
What an amazing experience! Thank you so much for making us feel special, and the food is always outstanding!
Excellent food and service.
T bone steak was overcooked.
The Hollandaise sauce was cold.
The wine list was average for a fine restaurant.
The chocolate soufflé was delicious.
Not worth the money.
We really enjoyed our dinner. Gary was our waiter and he was wonderful. We would recommend the restaurant to our friends and family.
Steak was not very flavorful
Half lobster was small
Best part was tenderloin and ravioli appetizers
Everything was top notch and it should be for the price you pay. If you are into large top quality steaks then this is the place. Sides are huge too. 4 people can share 1 side.
Another great meal at Shula's Steak House at the West Shore Grand. We celebrated my 70th birthday and used my Birthday Shula's Certificate to enjoy at 24 oz Porterhouse steak. Great location to celebrate a special event.
