About Shula's Steak House - Naples
The theme for Shula's Steak House is a virtual museum of the 1972 Miami Dolphins' 17-0 perfect season, the NFL's only unbeaten team. The décor includes pictures and game balls from the '72 season. The menus are hand painted on NFL footballs then personally hand signed by Coach Shula himself.
The restaurant's reputation has been built on serving the "biggest and the best", which includes Premium Black Angus Beef. The menu features generous portions, including a signature 48-ounce porterhouse steak.

Shula's Steak House - Naples Ratings and Reviews
After all, this is a STEAK house, but the looks of disappointment when none of the 6 of us ordered a 48oz sirloin were obvious and uncomfortable. This was the only restaurant I could reserve pre-Artis performance at 8 pm. Service was delivered with slightly derisive attitude and icy glares when we asked for split checks, and we were scolded for not stating that when we first sat down.
I have been here for events that were handled very professionally. We left feeling dismissed as low ticket patrons. Times have changed, folks - lighter, more vegetarian options would be nice. And courteous service regardless of the potential tip is always the mark of fine dining.
Came in for my birthday. Waited about ten minutes for the waiter to come to our table with water. He said he didn't know it was his table. Service just seemed to be slow and I don't know if they were short handed or what. I had coffee and I never got a refill till I was done with my meal. We both had the prime rib and not liking them putting it on top of the mash potatoes now. If I have it again I will ask that it not be.
I took my husband to Shula's for his birthday dinner. Neither of us had been there before. We were impressed by the impeccable service and attention to every whim we might have. We also appreciated the waiter's explanation of any questions we had about the food and preparation. We both ordered filet mignon, Medium. Mine was the 6 oz, his was I think 12 oz. He said his was the best filet mignon he'd had anywhere. Mine was very, very good, although it could have been cooked a little less. We were extremely happy celebrating his birthday at Shulas.
Shula’s needs to train a certain waiter. After my entree was served, the waiter did not check on my table once. I had to try to get his attention for something. The Shula’s prices must prompt attention to the customer during the meal, and one visit at a minimum is not unreasonable.
The bill came with an automatic 20% gratuity on it. I was a party of one. Waiter obviously did not check the bill first before delivering it. He had it removed. He explained that the 20% was carried over from the previous party at my table. Sounded like a lame excuse, particularly since the table seated only two people and was not in a location to have joined other tables, otherwise requiring a minimum 20% gratuity.
Food was just OK. Kind of disappointed, nothing really stood out as special.
We had the 8 oz. Filets and again, they were just OK. Sides were Asparagus and Brussels Sprouts.
Our server came and took our order and we didn't see him again until our meals arrived and then again after we had finished our meals. Didn't bother to stop and see if all was good. He did manage to overcharge us for our filets. Charged up for the 12 oz. instead of the 8 oz. Wish I would have noticed prior to paying the check.
All in all, the experience was a let down. Next trip to Naples, FL., we will dine elsewhere.
We have been to Shulas twice before this visit with outstanding food and service. This Christmas dinner was overpriced, overcooked and had little flavor. The service was very slow and not very friendly. We will probably not recommend to anyone or go back. Seasons 52 is so much better!
The hostess was terrible - very uppity! We requested a booth - there were several available, but she sat us at a table and when I asked about the booths, she said those were reserved for VIP customers only. We've been going to Shula's for 20 years and are members of their reward club - what does it take to be a VIP customer? Food was good but I wouldn't order the 12 oz filet again - not as much flavor as the 8 oz. Service at the table was good as always.
We try to enjoy Shula’s at least once during the month of December with two of our neighbors. This year our server was Brian, who did not hesitate when I queried him about a luncheon recommendation. His recommendation was “The Japanese Salmon.” The other three had already decided, so I was the one who accepted his recommendation. You must know that this particular decision I made, was most appreciated. This salmon was the best I’ve eaten since we arrived in Naples seven years ago. You will be really happy if you, too, follow Brians’ advice!
Our server was almost rude, JJ did not make us feel welcomed nor was she warm to us throughout our meal. She was definitely more eager to please the table immediately to our left(they ordered drinks, wine, apps etc.) it took her forever to come get our food order (after we failed to order a beginning drink order-only one drink). The female manager was much more attentive than our own waitress. Perhaps if she smiled at all patrons her service could have been much more appreciated. Food was superb, service was very bad.
Restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived yet the service was slow. Food took a very long time to come out, over an hour for tiny cuts of steak. A couple arrived after us, received their food and left all before our party of 4 received our food. I understand that it is an upscale steakhouse but for the amount of time we waited and lack of service, it was not worth the money. The food was fine but we were not blow away.
