Shula's Steak House - Miami Lakes Ratings and Reviews
I have visited Shula many times for dinner, but this visit was absolutely horrible. The food was salty. I pick the Valentine's menu and it did not meet my expectations. I was not even given the 2 glass of champagne that was part of menu. To make things even worst we had to wait for our bill for over 30 mins. The waiter explain the delay once the bill was brought to us. Oh and by the way we waited another ten minutes to charge my card. Do disappointed by my favorite Steak restaurant. One more thing the Duty Manager didn't even offer a apology for us waiting so long for the bill. Pretty outrageous!!! Worst Valentine's ever
Went for a late dinner for my daughters birthday. They had a sign, a rose and a special message for her birthday on the menu so special. Food was good and the service was too. Had drinks and appetizers. Then the main course and later dessert. The place is not too big but it is a bit pricey. If you want to go for a special event or dinner then check it out. They have free valet parking and a bar that appears very popular.
This was my second dinner at Shula's Steak House and it was just as terrific the second time. The Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly (Med/Rare was really Med/Rare), the martini was perfect, the brussels sprouts with bacon were tasty and both the twice baked potatoes and au gratin potatoes were amazing. The service was very good; it might have been a little faster, but we were not in a hurry. And I somehow managed to eat dessert. It is expensive, so I would save the experience for a business meal or special occasion. But be sure to get there at some point!
Very expensive but the services is below expectations for the price. I have being there in several occasions and this is the standard regarding my perception. even the wine list is limited compared to other places at same level. The is a lack of empathy of the servers with the customers.
The staff was courteous and attentive. We were seating at a window overlooking the golf course.
After dinner we ordered dessert. From that point forward we felt a little rushed. As the staff cleared the table it looked like they were in a race. Things did slow down when the dessert arrived. After dinner, we went outside to the valet station and there was no one there. After about 5 minutes we noticed a young man focused on his phone while leaning against the wall next to the front door. I had to ask him if he was the valet before he ever noticed me.
WE ENJOYED THE EVENING VERY MUCH. DIDN'T LIKE WAITERS CLEARING THE TABLE WHILE SOME OF US WERE STILL EATING. MENU NOT VERY KID FRIENDLY. HAD MY 11 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER AND HAD TROUBLE FINDING HER SOMETHING TO EAT. 6OZ FILLET FOR $40.00 VERY PRICY. LOOKS LIKE A SMALL HAMBURGER AND A LA CARTE. NOT GREAT VALUE. MY PORTERHOUSE WAS GREAT. HAD ABOUT 6 SIDE DISHES, ALL VERY GOOD. FUN PLACE. HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR MANY YEARS AS I HAVE BEEN A DOLPHIN SEASON TICKET HOLDER SINCE THE FIRST GAME IN 1966. I RECOGNIZED ALL THE PICTURES ON THE WALLS. BIG FAN OF DON SHULA! I ONCE THANKED HIM FOR PRODUCING SOME MANY GREAT SUNDAYS FOR US. AMAZING COACH AND PERSON.
We went for nye the only complaint was we were charged an additional $25 per person for the midnight event however the party favors were not New Year’s Eve related and were simply party favors that liquor companies give for distributions. They all said Johnny walker label on them and were not festive. This part of the evening was a waste of time.
Went with a party of six. We had previously set-up a reservation. Did not need to wait for seating nor was there any delay in service. Staff was outstandingly professional. Providing entrees in a timely manner as well as the main meal. Our group was very satisfied with the meals; After having been shown the various cuts of meats, we each ordered our preferred choice. Ate the whole Porterhouse 48oz which was delicious. For dessert had the Carrot Cake which was one of the best I've ever tasted. Definitely recommend this fine establishment.
Ambience is very nostalgic. Takes one back to a time when the Dolphins knew how to win games, under a proven coach.
I wish our waiter wanted to wait on us. The food was out of this world!!! Waited a very very long time to get our second drink and had to ask the bus boy to help us get one. When I tried to complement the food to the waiter, he brushed me off and went to the next table.
I would go again because the food is incredible! Don't skip dessert and get the Apple cobbler... i just dont want that waiter
The quality of the food is decant the steaks are excellent! I can get better service at Chillis or even Denny's. I have to admit I am shocked this 5 star dinning has such poor waiters and managers. We got to our table and immediately the assistant waiter filled our water glasses. We are on the start to a nice evening. The main waitress takes our order and disappears. No really, she actually disappears, we never saw her again the entire evening. I had to get my own refills of water and soda by walking to the bar, since she never showed up after she took our order. The food arrived by another waiter. Again, our waitress or manager never checked up on us to see how we are doing or if the food was to our liking (A standard practice at fine dining restaurants). You would think another water or a manager would even realize a customer keeps walking to the bar to get drink refills. NOPE!
The waitress arrived from the kitchen with our check and dropped it off without saying a thing. I turned to her and said "Welcome Back, It's nice to see you again." She turned to me and said "have a nice night."
HERE IS THE ISSUE: This restaurant automatically includes an 18% gratuity on the check. THERE IS NO INCENTIVE TO GET GOOD SERVICE! A restaurant like Shula's should always have good service, it is supposed to be a fine dining. ($52 for one steak, $12 for a side) we expect good service! But, think about it, the gratuity is already guaranteed. Why bother actually providing good service? It's not like they own Shula's, what do they care if you come back or not. I also blame the manager, since he allows this type of service to happen right under his nose. If he doesn't realize what's happening, he is negligent. Either way management needs to change.
Shula's needs to rethink the automatic added gratuity idea and either replace or retrain ALL the wait staff at the Miami Lakes Shula's and get new management! This place is a mess!
We go to Shula's quite often, and the experience is always great! I always ask for Dahlia to be our server, and I am never disappointed. She makes it a priority to remember her customers. She knows exactly what I like and remains attentive and pleasant throughout the entire dinner. I am sure many patrons continue to come back to Shula's not only because of the delicious food but because of the extraordinary service.
