Shula's Steak House - Miami Lakes Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed -I had never been here and was treating my husband for his 50th birthday-we had drinks, several appetizers and salad -the appetizers were just ok-salad was fine-when we went to order entrees we were told at 6:45 they were out of prime rib-restaurant opened at 5:00 and only had a few tables filled so I'm not sure how they were out already? Waiter never made any other suggestions of entree choices-We advised the waiter we would need a few more minutes to decide on different entree choices. Waiter never returned-after about 15 minutes my husband got his attention and asked for the check. The hostess sent me to the locker room to use the restroom instead of the regular restrooms that were at the entrance to the restaurant. It was early and the restaurant was far from crowded!! We will not return-have eaten at many other steakhouses (Ruth's Chris, Bern's, Council Oak,Smith and Wollensky etc.)this was by far the least appetizing-food, ambiance, service!
Great food and service, however, entrees are a la carte. Large party next to us, standing near our table taking numerous photos of their group, detracted from the experience. Food quality is excellent, but the the value is probably average at best; given the price and a la carte menu. Perfect choice, however, for special occasions.
Very disappointing. My prime rib was fatty and chewy. They saw I wouldn't eat it and replaced it. Upon setting the second in front of the manager lamented it looked much the same. Offered me a fillet mignon but I said I was kind of done as my party had finished eating. They said take to go. We had our soufflé and other leftovers packed and delivered. I assumed my steak was in there. It was not. Manager said he didn't understand as it was cooked and waiting in kitchen. I said forget it. Just take it off my bill. $367 for four people and I left hungry!
As always, a delightful evening. Great food, especially the prime rib, very succulent and tender. We especially enjoy the crab mac and cheese. My daughter never varies from the excellent porterhouse and it was delicious. Not having enormous appetites, my daughter and I are content with a great entree and the mac and cheese Tonight we added dessert because it was my birthday. . An outstanding part of the meal was the service. Kudos to whomever hired Dalhia, she was terrific, very attentive and friendly. Don't let her go. Her team was good also. I am sorry to tell you that the "bananas foster cheese cake" left way too much to be desired. We treated ourselves to this because it sounded so good. It was not what we expected which was bananas foster over the cheesecake. That is not what was served. It was a "cold" piece of banana cheesecake with a scoop of whipped cream topped by two thick slices of banana that had been bruleed with a little sauce on the plate. It was a disappointing end to a fabulous meal. We will not let that keep us from returning, just not order dessert next time.
The food was very good, and the setting very nice, looking over golf course. My husband loved his steak. Excellent service. The only negative was that the room was very cold - the bar area like icebergs. We found a table at the front of the dining room which was not as cold.
The steak was very good, not great. Average for a higher priced steak house. Every thing is ala carte, so the bill for two with no cocktails was $200 with 20% tip. We both had rib eye, with brussle spouts, baked potato side, no desserts. The steak was average. Ordered it medium and it was a tad dry. I would say Schula's is good not great. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. Texas Roadhouse, Longhorn have equally good quality for a lot less money. They differently charge for the name. The service was excellent, witness the 20% tip.
Our experience was amazing from the moment we were welcomed by hostess to the end of our dinner. As we were seated we noticed our personalized birthday/anniversary menus and rose, which added a nice touch to the evening. The food was scrumptious and the service exceeded my expectations. Loved it!
The restaurant was extremely noisy and we had a difficult time hearing any conversation at our table. Unable to hear the wait staff presentation. One staff member spoke very broken English. Asparagus was hard and cold. Shrimp cocktail had a strange taste. My beer was delivered and not poured into the glass and finally the waitress had very bad breath.
Its been 8 years since I've visited this restaurant which I frequently ate at. I must say this was quite a disappointment.
I got to the restaurant at 8:30 and didn't leave till about 11pm. I always go here so this is why I had picked this place on this special night to propose to my GF. Which at no point was I able to being we were both in a bad mood.
Food took over an hour to get a salad which we had to send back being it still had dirt and was super hard because it was a chunk of the lower middle part . Once our cold steaks came about 2 hours later they brought us a correct salad. The service was bad being we didn't even know who our waiter was. We kept asking for things with different waiters and got minimal results.
This was my last time for this restaurant .
Old time patron, for the fist time ever truly underwhelmed by the service. Recognize that Valentine's Day can overwhelm any restaurant, but perhaps takng less number of reservations would allow for the quaity of service to at least meet the expectaions one has for high-end establishment.
Food quality was superb. Bar service was outstanding. Pre dinner hostess service and meal service were two star at best.
We spent Valentine's Day at Shula's. I tried calling 5 timres to confirm reservations and was transferred to a recording or someone who could not help me. We were rushed for drink order sitting down and then waited over an hour for our dinner. Another hour for dessert. Poor, poor service. The food was good, though. Left the restaurant in a cloud of smoke outside. Most unpleasant.
This is a well-known steak house, and for Valentine's Day, it was packed. Still, the service was very attentive and the food was delicious; the steaks are fantastic. My only complaint? As a visitor to the US, I wish restaurants would figure out how to use credit cards with 'chips' in them - they are very common in Canada, but cause for confusion in the US for some reason; the result was first a decline on our card, and then a very long wait while they sorted it out.
The service was much more than one would expect. The food was excellent. A Happy Anniversary sign was placed on our table and we were congratulated by many of the staff. The waiters seemed to know what we were going to ask for before we asked. It was a wonderful evening as we celebrated our 57th anniversary.
Always my go to for a special occasion dinner. This time was for my birthday. Steak was great as always. It would be nice if they made their own salad dressings b/c a simple request for 1000 island wasnt able to be made. Other steak houses I've been to, the chef would have come out, introduced him/herself and would have happy to whip up a serving of the dressing to go with the wedge salad. We'll be back (maybe with my own homemade salad dressing!) regardless but that was a disappointment for this type of restaurant/$$$$.
I had an excellent experience. I was celebrating my birthday and they went all out to make me feel special. Flowers in the table, front page of the meni with a personalized happy birthday message, etc. I have gone to many expensive restaurants and they have not had that level of detail.
Food was great! I can not say any more about the great food. The service is where the restaurant died. We had a group of 8 all of whom were staying at Shulas Hotel. When we asked for separate checks the server had a full on melt down. She was rude, slow and disrespectful. I am not sure the great food outweighed the nasty server.
