Shula's Steak House - Miami Lakes Ratings and Reviews
Always my go to for a special occasion dinner. This time was for my birthday. Steak was great as always. It would be nice if they made their own salad dressings b/c a simple request for 1000 island wasnt able to be made. Other steak houses I've been to, the chef would have come out, introduced him/herself and would have happy to whip up a serving of the dressing to go with the wedge salad. We'll be back (maybe with my own homemade salad dressing!) regardless but that was a disappointment for this type of restaurant/$$$$.
I had an excellent experience. I was celebrating my birthday and they went all out to make me feel special. Flowers in the table, front page of the meni with a personalized happy birthday message, etc. I have gone to many expensive restaurants and they have not had that level of detail.
Food was great! I can not say any more about the great food. The service is where the restaurant died. We had a group of 8 all of whom were staying at Shulas Hotel. When we asked for separate checks the server had a full on melt down. She was rude, slow and disrespectful. I am not sure the great food outweighed the nasty server.
Our first stop in Miami & a must on our "would like to eat there" list. We weren't disappointed (except for the cost). Steak was cooked perfectly, our sides delightful & the cheesecake yummy. Pictures & documents lining the walls make for interesting reading. All in all a good meal out (if as I say slightly expensive - I think you're paying more for the name of the venue rather than the food?)
This was our second trip to Shula's. Both were for our anniversary. The food was superb, as last time, the staff were courteous and attentive and the setting was ideal. A top choice for a nice dinner. For a special occasion, there's no better place to go. We will definitely be back.
An exceptional Gem with great attention and flavors. Food was prepared incredibly well and the service was amazing from start to finish. Well worth the price. Hadn't dined here in over a decade and I have to say I won't make that mistake again. This is truly my favorite restaurant again. Simply Great!
Horrible experience. Waiter was good and the bread came out quickly as did our blackened scallops appetizer and wife's caesar salad. Beyond that we were lost in the shuffle. 15 to 20 minutes later we had several people starting too apologize and saying our food was coming. I've been around food service around 30 years and my wife is still in the business. It was apparent that the kitchen had lost the order or a party hit and we were forgotten. The two tables around us, one arrived after us and the other at the same time. One ordered close to the same time as us and one after us. Both ate and were leaving as we sat waiting on our main course and desert. We left and they did not charge us , however I was looking for a great meal with my wife not a free appetizer. The place was like an outdated golf club. I guess they think Coach Shula's name will carry them forever. Not gonna happen. Buyer beware !!
We went to try the Spice. The martini (not on the Spice menu was perfection) and the steak was good. A less rich starter and finish and non mash potato option would update the pris fixe for the better. But if you've never been Spice is a good way to try it out.
Excellent service from the hostess, bartender (excellent Mojitos, by the way), and wait staff. Very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. The Cesar Salad, Lobster Bisque, filet mignons, and desserts were all perfectly made and presented. Wonderful experience.
I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. After booking our reservation on-line, I called the restaurant to ensure that my reservation was confirmed. At that time, I specifically indicated to the individual I spoke with that it was my husband's birthday dinner. Then, once we arrived, after my husband and I were seated I AGAIN mentioned to the hostess that it was my husband's birthday and she indicated that it was noted, then she asked me if I would like a candle placed on his slice of cake and I replied, yes. During this conversation, I noticed "Happy Birthday" signs behind the hostess; however, one was never placed on our table. Although, I noticed "Happy Birthday signs on a few of the tables near ours.
After my husband and I were done eating, I realized that they had no intentions on bringing out the HB sign or any "slice of cake with a candle" to acknowledge this special occasion, so once again, I reminded her of that. It was at that time she indicated that I was "supposed" to order it and "pay" for it???? After spending over $150 for their lousy service and FOOD, the least they could have done is honor my very small request. My husband and I have frequented Morton's Steak house, the Capital Grill, Ruth Chris, on special occasions and have received much better service. This restaurant is overrated. They only care about "TAKING your money, but fail short of providing you the quality of service you pay for. I was HIGHLY dissapointed!!!!
