Celebrate Easter at Shula's!
Sunday, April 1, 2018
We were celebrating my Dad’s 87th Birthday. I told them when we arrived they even asked how old. There were five of us dining to of the meals were sub par. My son ate one bite of his chicken sandwich and left the rest. It was so dry. I normally enjoy my meal but it was not as good as it normally is. We were never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything. We left with one meal with one bite and another half eaten and no Birthday song, drink cookie or anything. Dissatisfied but tipped well and kept it moving.
Best steak I’ve had since my last trip to Indianapolis last year. Great staff!
Steak came out under cooked then over cooked . Ordered crown rocks got
Crown and coke. For the money I won’t be back.
Just a good place to eat nothing more. Really needs to be better for the cost.
Great window seating , service was wonderful, the steaks and lobster were tender and tasty . The chocolate lava cake was superb and enough for 4 people. Thank you Shula’s for a great birthday dinner
Excellent service and excellent food. Great view, too.
food was fantastic!!
service was not. had to ask for menus and silverware as we weren't given them upon being seated
server was the bartender and we were his only table in the bar. he was extremely slow and had a bit of an attitude when we asked for drinks.
for 8 people (including tips) almost $400 bill ...wouldn't have been bad if server would have at least acted like he wanted to do his job
it was my birthday and I am disappointed in how we were treated.
I would recommend the restaurant for the food only, as both hostess and server were not the best.
I will not be celebrating at this restaurant again, as I would like to enjoy my special day.
Wonderful place! We had excellent service, delicious food, and a beautiful view! Loved all of it! Will recommend to friends and family
Our service was fantastic! Our server was attentive and provided great customer service.
The restaurant was absolutely, positively filthy! The floor was dirty and needed to be swept. The table next to us sat for 30 minutes before it was bussed. A napkin was on the floor during our ENTIRE visit. When we were seated at our table there was salt all over so I assume it had not been wiped off.
Our service was amazing. However the food was definitely sub par especially for the price. The scallops were over done and the lobster bisque soup had way to many scallions on top as a garnish. There was also creme in the soup which would have been fine as a small garnish but there was more creme then soup. The steak and the lamp chops were wonderful just seemed like every other part of the meal was not cooked right. I would say again though our server was wonderful.
From the moment we arrived, we knew it was going to be a great experience! The host staff were delightful and seated us right away. When we sat, we didn't have to wait long at all for our waiter to come. He was very nice and attentive. Our food was absolutely delicious too. Well worth the money paid for. I ordered the 8 ounce filet and my husband ordered the mahi mahi. Ended the evening with a delicious piece of chocolate cake. I would absolutely recommend Shula's for their staff, food, and ambiance!
My wife's steak was over cooked as were the bacon wrapped shrimp. Our waiter said he was having a bad week and this was evident by the poor service he provided. He was very un-attentive for most of the meal and at the end he brought our friends the wrong bill and then brought them back someone else's credit card.
very disappointed with everything . service was bad, server was pushy and in a hurry to get our order before we even had a wine list. after that it was slow, Forgot to bring bread, potatoes were cold. overall bad experience. will not recommend
Food was on point, the attention to the table was less than satisfactory . The place had many open tables to moderately busy. Waiter went through the motions, but not a general concern about the dining experience. Absorbanment amount time between courses. No explanation and very little apology. To many great choices to try in Indy. 2 strikes in a row here will not repeat on my dime!
The first sign of what was to come was the fact it was Saturday night and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Ordered 3 appetizers, calamari was extremely chewy, scallops were BURNT, and crab cake had zero seasoning. We didn’t even stay after that. Server was very nice, but other than that, there are many other options downtown that far surpass this place.
Service was excellent. We both ordered N.Y. Strips and they were cooked perfectly to our requested medium. Ordered the apple pie for dessert...it was fabulous!
Overall, a bad experience and a poor excuse for an upscale steakhouse. Waitress was loud and had no manners. Food came out cold. Our steaks were not cooked to order. When the order was remade, the steaks were tasteless and dry. We had a great experience her about 5 years ago. This time was so bad that we will never try them again.
Our service was excellent! Food was seasoned and cooked well.
However, I ordered a drink off of the menu and was told it wasn’t available. I ordered a different drink, but only had two because the bar ran out of one of the ingredients.
Other than that the experience was great. It’s was our second time, there will likely be a third.
We indicated to the restaurant manager a poor experience on our previous trip. They did comp our first drink and an appetizer, however the manager never followed up during our meal. The bread came only at our request and was brought out late, after our entree. At a restaurant of this caliber we expect something remarkable and have not received it our last two visits. I won't be returning nor will I recommend Shula's to anyone I know.
Been to Shula's multiple times even different locations and always a great experience. Disappointed in last visit. Service not Good, food was ok but not great. Was not worth the cost on this night.
We requested a table with a view on the Open Table App and our request was met. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night, and the servers were prompt without being over bearing. The best part of the evening was the meal itself. Being a bit of a seafood snob, I ordered the sea bass and it was better than any seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to. Husband had a filet and was equally impressed. We will definitely return.
Slow service - waitress Vickie couldn't have cared less about our table - took almost 15 minutes to just get WATER when we walked in... then someone else finally brought bread - which was nice, but we had no plates.... then I asked for the noodles without sauce and she rolled her eyes... nice.
Very enjoyable experience at Shula's. The service was exceptionally good. Food and drink were very good with one slight problem. One steak was asked to be well done and it had to be sent back and when you cook it the second time it becomes tough. The other steak was medium and it was truly the best filet I've ever had and I've eaten at some very high end steak places. I would highly recommend Shula's steaks to anyone. Atmosphere was nice - seated by window with view of Indy. I want to mention again how excellent the service was that we received.
Very nice atmosphere; great steaks!
Our experience was disappointing although the steaks were good in taste our meal was served luke warm and trying to get our 2 waiters attention was to no happening .A expensive meal lesson at Shulas will not dine here again !
THEE worst service I’ve ever had at any restaurant. Embarrassing because I had two different clients from out of country for lunch on back-to-back days.
The service and food was outstanding but sitting next to the window was chilly.
Annual visit and birthday
Waiter wasn’t pleasant and he kept coming to take our order only to tell us he had to go do something else. Food was good though once we got it.
It was SO loud. We couldn’t even have a conversation at dinner. There was confusion on who was supposed to take our order. We waited at least 30 min after finishing our salad before our meal arrived . We had to ask several times where our meal was. Then my steak was supposed to be Med-rare. It was well done. Waitress offered to get me a new one but we had already been there 2 hours!! Not the Shula experience I am used to!!
Strange meal from the beginning, took over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge our table, and only half drinks offers taken. Server also didn’t seem to want to make any dietary adjustments requested. Salads came out wrong.
Great food and service. Exactly as expected. Round table as requested. great business dinner
I was expecting a typical steakhouse and was Very disappointed. I had dinner and lunch. Slow unmotivated service and very marginal food quality and taste.
They had the best meal I have had in a very long time and i dine out a lot. There were a couple of issues, but they resolved them and gave us an amazing dessert!
Our meal and experience at Shula's was simply outstanding!!!
It’s great to have a super quality restaurant within the hotel. I used it for both a business lunch and dinner and both were excellent
I'll try to be as nice as possible. We went to Shula's for dinner this past Saturday night, we were in town for the Colts game the next day. We were seated promptly with a nice view of the city. It took awhile for our waiter to finally come over and take our drink orders. The restaurant was not busy at all at 7pm. We got our drinks and ordered an appetizer (BBQ shrimp) and salads (Wedge). Would have been nice if they would have came out separately, however they were pretty good. I ordered the 12oz filet and my wife the 8oz filet. Seemed to take forever for the steaks to come out, at least 40-45 minutes. My steak looked good on the outside, but when I cut into it the middle was almost gel like, I tried a bite and it was not edible. I sent it back thinking maybe they would cook a different one but the waiter came back out almost 30 minutes later and it was the same steak and the middle looked the same. The waiter was definitely avoiding our table at this point, once again the restaurant was not busy at all. I sent it back and they replaced it with a ribeye steak. The manager said they would take care of my steak and would give us a dessert on them. My steak finally came out and was decent. My wife had been done with her meal for 30 minutes. The cake however took another 50 minutes to come out. Ridiculous!! We were there for 2 1/2 hours. I really wanted to like Shula's, but it was a big disappointment. I cannot in good conscience recommended this restaurant to anyone.
This was my fourth time dining at Shula's steakhouse. The service here is absolutely fantastic. You do not want for anything. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday and I wanted to treat him so we both got drinks and an appetizer. We chose the bacon appetizer. While it was very delicious, I do not think it was worth the price. It only came with 2 pieces of thick-cut bacon with maybe 4 pieces of cooked apples. $14 for that is crazy!!! I could have bought 4 lbs. of bacon for that price. So we definitely will not be ordering that again. However, the steaks were A-mazing!!! My boyfriend ordered the 20 oz. Strip. & I got the Prime Rib. Absolutely delicious. Since their sides are all a la carte we ordered mashed potatoes to share. I was not happy with them. Super lumpy and they seemed over cooked. Very disappointed. I could barely eat them, my boyfriend said they were just okay. I don't remember them being like that any of the other times I have been there, so maybe it was just an off night for potatoes.
We will definitely be back even if it is just for the steaks. They know how to cook an amazing steak that's for sure.
Excellent food and attentive professional service.
