Restaurant is in a hotel and it was Saturday night. Service was great but I’m guessing they didn’t want to open the whole restaurant up so everyone was in one area in restaurant. I have nothing against children but don’t put families with loud children by adults trying to enjoy their dinner and conversations.
The 2 Ribeyes was 1/2 inch thick, suppose to be 14oz. Cook medium when supposed to be Rare plus and med rare
Potato was old and warmed up
Love going there and the service was great. The only disappointment was they no longer offer a prime rib plate, which is what I went there for. The steaks are very good, but a little pricey, so make sure you go prepared.
Poor service. Red Blood or Dye on Tablecloth. Steak Medium Well not Medium Rare. When pointed out to serve she shrugged and walked away. No Manager, no one seemed to care at all about how thngs were going
Best place for a business lunch in downtown Houston
The restaurant is very nice. Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The manager was very kind and stopped by to check on us and even sent us a complimentary glass of champagne.
Best restaurant in Houston! It was perfect, great service and excellent food.
Table was ready at the reserved time, food and service was excellent. Will be back.
Had reservations; received nice welcome. Very slow, inattentive service. No menu suggestions from waiter. Menu not like the one listed on the website, so we were disappointed that items we would like to have ordered were unavailable. Not on par with Pappas Steakhouse, Veritas or Perrys in terms of food taste or value for what you received.
Fire alarms went off. While with clients hard to have conversation.
Had the ribeye steak. Very tender and exactly how I ordered it.
Room in the back is extremely loud. Healthy tuna salad was super bland.
Great for business lunch. Convenient location. New menu.
I have been to other Shula’s and this one doesn’t compare. The food was mediocre at best and it took more than a 1/2 hour for our waiter to return after we were visibly done our dinner. This was a second chance for this location and unfortunately it failed.
Great steak and excellent service. The manager checked on us several times. Historic football pictures and memorabilia from Don Shula’s NFL career adorn the restaurant.
I had a business lunch so I did not complain and I tipped 20%. I do not blame the server. At a place as pricey as this checks and balances have to happen. There is no reason for food to arrive room temp...if the food is in the window it is every person working there responsibility to run the food! Also, as a manager running the food you should check tale tale signs of food that has been sitting too long. Such as crusty sauce around the edges. This is suppose to be an upscale restaurant...not a fan.
Ribeye steak was outstanding. Cooked perfectly and probably the best steak I have ever eaten in Houston.
Too many other options in the area with better service for this price point at lunch.
Really liked the special attention from our waitress and beverage server!
We had a reservation for 2 at 2:30 . First was told we would have to wait 45 mins to be seated. Then I repeated that we had reservations at 2:30 they asked if we mind being seated at a bar top table. So we accepted. But we had no flatware, no salt & pepper.took forever for some one to take our order. Even after taking our order we still had to track someone down & ask for bread, flatware, napkins. Very disappointed.
Staff were very attentive, food brought out in reasonable time.
Central location, variety of food choices
The meal was very good. Service was very good. But very slow. I don’t think it was the server but kitchen and bar. We went into bar pre meal and the bartender was very busy away from the bar. Looks like they had him doing more than just tending the bar.
It appeared that food prep was slow as other tables also seemed to take awhile to get their meals.
Overall we enjoyed the dinner and since we weren’t in a hurry the time was good to relax.
The service was extremely slow and the food was not to the standards of a high end steakhouse.
Loved it! Very nice and food was good! Our waiter was awesome! We will be back!
Belated birthday dinner.
Nice experience. Jonathan was great. Excellent service!
Not so good
The filet mignon trio was cooked well but was not hot when it arrived at the table; very underwhelming and not worth the $45 for the entree alone. The side dishes were very good. My bulleit rye old-fashioned was actually below average. Restaurant ambience was great - perfect for our business meeting. Service was extremely sloooooow...waited 30 mins for the appetizers and some bread. Ended up being a 2hr dinner for 3 people.
Expensive for lunch, food was good, service was average, they apply gratuity to ticket.
I intended to try a steak at Shula's while in Houston on a business trip. I had a rib eye and was not disappointed. It was excellent as was the food in general. The steak was memorable and brings back delicious memories. The sensation trip was worth the fare!
Great steak. Atmosphere lacking with most people under dressed for type of restaurant
Food was unbelievable. Had the cowboy ribeye and crab Mac. It was a little dark inside. Expensive but you get what you pay for. 9/10 would go back
We're go here at least twice a year because we're know we'll get exceptional service and the best food money can buy!
Restaurant was partially closed, food was awful (Dry-Salty Steak, oily fries). Service was good.
The service was fantastic! We could not have asked for better service. Raul in the bar makes a great Cosmopolitan
Unfortunately the food quality was not up to par with other downtown steak houses, such as Pappas
The waitstaff seamed understaffed.
Shula’s at Hyatt Regency Houston never disappoints.
The food and service are exceptional. Our family favorites are the blue cheese crusted filet with a side of potato gratin.
