Shula's Steak House - Chicago

Generally good food but nothing spectacular... service was adequate... would go back if someone else was paying or there was an event but wouldn’t make the effort to specifically go here
Great cocktails and fabulous steak.
Amazing food and service! The only thing that was confusing was that the salads were not included with our meals.
I can't believe I've waited so long to try Shula's Steak House! I was very pleased with my selection! I had the Filet Oscar and my husband had the Prime Rib! The ambiance was nice, with dimmed lights and soft music and the service was excellent!
It was an amazing experience! I love fine dining and this restaurant certainly measured highly!
We got our work done and enjoyed a great meal
The medium steak was a bit over cooked. Otherwise everything will be good.
We enjoyed spending our late Valentines day at Shula's. I will definitely return!
Steak was excellent and cooked just the way inwanted it. The service was great from beginning to end.
The service was great, attentive. The food lacked in a few ways. I expected a higher quality of meat for the price and the vegetables for both of us were clearly over done, nothing I would personally serve to my guests.
I reminded the server that I would get 10 percent off because I stayed at the hotel. It was never deducted.
Food was not worth the price, service wasnt great.
Fantastic service and excellent food.
Facility called and said WOULD NOT BE OPEN TODAY!
We were in Chicago for a long weekend. Had a wonderful meal at Shulas! Glad we added it to our list! Worth every penny.
Excellent Steaks Excellent Service Loved the experience.
Steak had to be sent back not cooked well done on the first try
I was at the Sheraton Grand for the Cubs Convention. There was a big snowstorm on the Saturday so they had less staff than usual. I can understand this. When we first went to see if we could get a bite, we were told about the staffing issue & that it would be a 1/2 hour wait. This normally wouldn't be too bad, but we wanted to go to one of the talks and it conflicted if we had to wait. After the talk we came back & were told that the next time would be about 4pm, about an hour away. We asked if we could sit at the bar & order & were told they were trying to clean up. So we went to something else, but then I made a reservation for 4pm on Open Table. When we showed up, the harried hostess called out reservations in order & when we were shown to our table it was, essentially the smallest table, over by a wall that they had. Now, we had been there 3 times by that point so she would recognize us. It was as if she was snubbing us for "bothering" her. There were definitely nicer tables, even tables just for two available, but since we were looking for a small bite & not a big meal (but didn't want all the hot dog/hamburger fare in the rest of the hotel) we decided to not make an issue & took the table. Our waiter was wonderful, however & the food was tasty. He even accommodated my eating needs (no butter, no sauces, etc).
The steak was superb, cooked just as requested. Service was good, the football decor atmosphere is step back in time, I really like this place.
Shula's has been on our list of restaurants to try for several years and it did NOT disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was impeccable. We cannot wait to go back!
It was okay. The server was knowledgeable of the menu but lacked in every other area where requested and/or required service. She forgot our lemons, charged me for my salad that I never received, then was told that I could not get my money back. She seemed to be annoyed and rushed every time we asked for something. For a $300 plus bill and a $50 tip I expect better.
The food was okay the flavor of the filet mignon medallions was good, but wasn’t hot and that’s a turn off when you’re dining at a steakhouse. Nothing to brag about. Long story short we won’t be back.
You cannot go wrong with Shula’s. Always consistent. I must say my medium steak was a little on the medium well side, but with a quality steak, it was still good.
Way overpriced for what you get. No kids menu and they do stuff to your food without asking.
Excellent Service & amazing food. Had a perfect date for New Years Eve!
Made a rezo weeks in advance for NYE. The place wasn’t crazy busy but full. We sat down and waited 15 minutes for water. The waiter was energetic but seemed disinterested in our table. They wouldn’t make butter noodles for my daughter, he said “we don’t do specials”. Not a deal breaker because she LOVED the bread. I had the Porterhouse and it was done to perfection but just ok, no real flavor. My wife had the Prime rib and again, done perfectly but just ok. The double baked potatoes are enormous but just ok. We won’t be back
Food and service were ok. Had the steak and lamb chops which were fine, nothing special. Waitress seemed to disappear and seemed to have too many tables to be attentive to them all.
Good steak house!! excellent service too!!! for sure I will right back soon..me and my husband love it..
Great atmosphere and perfect music during the holiday season. Shula’s offers an amazing menu with quality choices. You won’t leave hungry. The servers are well versed in the menu and should be listened to for recommendations. We had a window table and enjoyed a quiet Saturday evening dinner watching the snowfall.
See you again in a few days, it’s becoming my go to place
Loved Shula’s! First time going and food and atmosphere was amazing. Waiter was so kind! Would definitely go back again
Very disappointing. Halibut tasted frozen although waitress said it was fresh. Filet was mediocre. Had to wait forever to get dirty fishes cleared between courses. Side dishes lukewarm. There are so many other steak restaurants to choose from that serve much better food.
Food was okay. Server was terrible! She didn’t pay much attention and rushed through her dealings with us. We won’t be back.
Just great but noisy because of holiday travelers
The food and service was excellent.
Overall it was good but the price is high for what you get.
Very disappointed in the customer service of this place. We came for a nice dinner, the dining room was wide open (a few tables occupied) and they gave us a table in the bar. (If we had wanted to sit in the bar, we wouldn’t not have made reservations). When we requested instead to be seated by the windows in the main dining room, we were told those were reserved. Okay fair enough but we would like to sit in the dining room. The hostess then shows us to a table just inside the door of the dining room right beside the bar on the main walk way. When I said why can’t we have a table further into the dining room not on the walk way, I was told people had make reservations. Um, so did I. The hostess then said we would have to speak to her manager and walked away, leaving us standing there. The manager (I assumed because he never introduced himself) showed us again to the table right by the main walk way. I again said we did not want to sit on the walk way just inside the opening to the bar. Their solution to our request to not sit on the walk way was to move us one table over. Again, several open tables further into the room.
We solved their issue of not giving us a decent table by taking our business somewhere else.
Since we didn't eat I based my rating of food on the last time we had ate at the restaurant. Much better steakhouses in the city, we won't be back.
This is a nice supper club. The meat entrees were melt in your mouth. The side dishes were not as expected. Creamy spinach could have been a little more creamy and softer. The asparagus was a little hard and flavorless. Of course vegetables are not in season right now for the midwest. Maybe during growing season these would be fresher and more enjoyable. The lobster bisque is on the appetizer menu, this is misleading it should be listed as a soup/salad. It comes in a bowl for each person in your party (not shareable like most appetizers) and you get charged for each bowl. It was very tasty though. It did take 45 minutes to get our entrees and they were not busy.
excellent service, food was good, great atmosphere
Very good food and nice portions. I look forward to more visits to Shula's.
Everything at Shula’s is outstanding. This time was no different!! Maybe better in fact. Steaks were perfect, sides and apps delicious and dessert to die for. Service was great as always! Anthony and Alex were spot on!!
Can’t wait to go back
