Shula's 347 Grill - The Westin Lake Mary Ratings and Reviews
This had to rank as the worst anniversary dinner experience of my life. Service was delivered at a glacial pace. Our waiter , who constantly reminded us of it being her second day on the job, was inept and slow. She appeared in half hour increments at best and the whole experience lasted over 2 and a half hours. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. The mashed potatoes were ice cold and chilled water was served in warm glasses. To top it off we were told we’d get a surprise dessert for our anniversary. The only surprise was it showed up on our bill.
Had a Christmas dinner with a friend and we couldn't have picked a better place to do that. Restaurant is nice and comfortable and clean. Food and drink selection was great. Our waiter was knowledgable and courteous and attentive. At this time of year there was a lot Christmas parties and it was a bit noisy but that was understandable and we didn't mind. The only downside was lack of parking. We will definitely come back again.
Food and server we're great. Five people at the host stand and no one got the door. Dining room manager walking around never stopped to check on the table. This may not have been noticed by many but as a manager at a restaurant one of this quality it's something that should be expected. This is the only reason giving it 4 stars instead of 5.
The appetizer and salad portions are big enough for two to share, and very good! I had the filet mignon, medium well, which was perfectly cooked and a great piece of meat. My husband had the New York strip, rare, which was also perfectly cooked. The apple bread pudding was wonderful. Our server, Jesse, was top notch -- very friendly and attentive.
Our server, Kaitlin, was fantastic . She was very friendly, efficient, and didn't miss a beat. I wish the restaurant would bring back the pork chop they had on the menu a couple of years ago. They have offered two pork dishes since and neither have measured up to the chop they use to sell. Because Shula's is pretty much known as a steak place, their treatment of a pork chop was always amazing.
We always enjoy Shula's. My husband loves the salmon and says it is the best in town. I love the hamburgers and the scallops - both always delicious and flavorful. It is fairly quiet unless it is crowded, but the service is excellent. The atmosphere is modern and feels business-like. The bar is small and wine prices are high so I usually just have a glass before we go.
I was excited to try this restaurant with my girl friend, The host was very sweet, we sat at a boot. Our Waiter was Gabe, he introduced himself, described the menu and began to tell us about how he preferred working at Carrabbas because it was less uptight. He ordered our drinks and got our appetizers in, he asks us 4 times to take our entree order, when we told him we weren't in a rush he told us that he needed to "close out our table before his shift was over". We felt rush so we put in our order as we ate our appetizers, I ordered the green pea risotto with scallops which was awful, the scallops were like rubber (over cooked) and the risotto wasn't seasoned, I didn't want to return the food because our waiter made it clear that he wanted to finish caring for our table before his shift ended. We put in another order of drinks at that time which were very different from the first we had, the strawberry mojito (i think) different glass and different taste. When i told our waiter, our drinks tasted different his response was "it's a fresh bash". Both my friend and I didn't finish our food. gave came to pick up our tables and said "you ladies made some damage tonight, interested in a dessert or not?" I dont know if i should have felt insulted or just understand that he simply wanted us to pay and leave. We asked for the check, gave a tip (of course) and left very unhappy. I will not be going back.
1. Servers are top notch very attentive and helpful
2. Management was on point handled things professionally and quickly.
3. Follow up phone call next day to see if I had any feedback on my experience
1. Bar area lights are filthy you can see it hasn't been cleaned in a while.
2. Chicken was so dry I had to send it back (ended up just not eating) Management handled it very well as you see my Pro's above.
3. Steak was under cooked and they ask you to cut it in the center no mid western man is going to do that...smh
All in all the steak was a great cut of meat so we shared it instead of reordering chicken that I knew there was no coming back from that one. Oh and the Brussels sprouts were raw also, clearly not a chef back there preparing these meals. For the price I would pass on this place not worth that kind of money for that kind of food.
The staff was awesome ! Very friendly and attentive . I visited for brunch with my father for his 80th birthday and much of the staff came by to wish him a happy one. At the end of our visit our wait staff came out with cake and sang happy birthday for my Dad. He was thrilled.
Great service and ambiance. My steak was not cooked to order (too well done) A resraurant of that quality that promotes the quality of their steak should get it right the first time. There is a far difference from medium to well done. As they offered to replace the item it did not fit well with out time restraints that evening, and I did not want to be eating after my date was done with her meal.
The food is the reason to come here. They consistently cook it just how you order it and the beef is the best in the immediate area. The salmon is the best in the area as well, and they cook it just right. The sides are basic, but usually above average in preparation. If the weather is nice, you can sit outside. Overall fairly quiet with a modern decor sprinkled with sports images and a couple of TVs tuned to sports. If you want to scream and shout at sports, go to Buffalo wild wings instead, but you can keep an eye on the score here at least. We dine here regularly since the food is consistently delicious.
