Celebrate Mom at Shula's!
Sunday, May 13, 2018
It was my mother in law’s 92nd birthday and we had a wonderful time! Everyone did such a good job and the food was delicious—steaks were perfect! Thank you all for making it a special night.
The meal was good. They had run out of boneless ribeyes. Odd for a Steak House. Service was excellent, Cody, I think. Very nice and accommodating. For the price point there should have been tablecloths. I've been to other Shula's and they've been better all around.
Food was amazing, everyone was very friendly, waiter was very polite. I enjoyed the seating and environment. Highly recommend.
Great place, great food! Can’t wait to go go back next time I pass through
After hearing good things about this establishment before going, I was surprised to hear from patrons upon arrival not to get the steak sandwich. Thought that was weird as this is supposed to be a steak house. Anyways, I went with the Filet and ordered it medium well because the waiter explained there would be light pink in the center which is how I like it. It came back super tough with no pink at all. I sent it back and it took 20 minutes to get a new one which I ordered medium this time to cut them some slack. It came back rare so I sent back again. Of course at that time my girlfriend was already done with her meal. Being as this place is supposed to be classy (I mean when they bring out the pepper and you can choose between course or fine), I thought we would at least get a apology, a free drink, or something. There was nothing! Will never go to a Shula's again. I eat out at a lot of steakhouses and this was the worst experience I have had.
Great, great, great.
Wonderful experience for my birthday dinner. The server, Joey, was amazing and very attentive. The food was delicious and top notch!
The food, service, and ambiance was wonderful! I can’t wait to come back. Although I do have one suggestion, the custard in the creme brûlée was cold it would have been better warm. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening.
It is always a pleasure dining at Shulas. The only reason for a 4 star rating is I had to send my steak back as it was cool when it arrived at the table. It returned fresh and delicious although a bit undercooked. The scallops I had were to die for! Sweet and succulent!
We appreciate the personal service and the free birthday entree and dessert!
The steaks cannot be beat. Get the bruletta salad and the scallops, both are out of this world.
The food was decent. But not near the quality for the price. The bernaise (sp) and Demi glacé tasted like it was made from instant powder. The steaks were tasty but under seasoned. I ordered the lamb special. For $55 I got two small chops. Would have been better to get a steak for that amount. Lastly , ordered the risotto as a side. Big mistake. I should have known better. Risotto is tricky at best. It needs to be made to order and can’t sit around. The risotto was pasty and gummy with no flavor. My mistake! I always wanted to try this chain. Never again.
Compliments to the Chef! Perfection! Service was also perfect.
Can’t beat it when you are in Tallahassee. One of the best in town
Our server, Aaron was phenomenal. He was attentive to our needs and made sure my husband had a delightful birthday dinner.
The food an hour to get to our table. 2 other tables arrived at least 10 minutes after us and got their food before us. We ordered burgers and scallops. When they did bring the meal it was wrong for one of our guests and we had to wait another 10 minutes for a new meal.
I had reservations for mine and my wife’s anniversary. They opened the doors for us as we entered and left- quite elegantly. They had a special table set aside for us and treated us to desert. I had the scallops which were quite possibly the most delicious meal of my life. I will definitely be back.
From walking in the door (opened by friendly hostess) seated promptly in a nice round romantic booth. This was our first time dining at Shula’s. Our server Roy was hands down the best server we’ve ever encountered. His knowledge of the menu as well as ability to answer all our questions as well as make excellent recommendations. Our food was delicious as well as cooked properly. Roy also informed us that we were to receive a complimentary champagne toast as we were there celebrating our 19th anniversary. I would highly recommend Shula’s & ask for Roy. I’ve been in the restaurant indoor 30 years and I was thouroghly impressed.
Our server Christian was a pleasure. He was very personable and very good at making conversation. We had the bone-in filet. My only negative comments are the noise level and choice of beer. While I like wine, I wanted a beer and my choices were limited. Otherwise, we had a great time and the food was delicious.
We had a very enjoyable and delicious meal. Service was excellent
We had a wonderful experience at Shula’s. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server, Juliana was attentive without being intrusive.
Food was great and the service excellent. Will be back.
Our fourth visit to Shula's was as enjoyable as our first three. Food always great, wait staff, particularly Joey, extremely attentive, and noise level allows conversation without shouting. Will go back.
Our waiter Christian was fantastic! Can’t say enough about him!! Food was average. Steak was not tasty nor tender. Smashed potatoes were not even warm.
the noise level was so intense, we ended our meal early. We have eaten at this Shula's 347 many times over the past 6 years and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere EXCEPT for the past 2 times. something must be done or you will lose locals.
Service was very good. We took the advice of the Server on the wine he recommended and it was excellent. All steaks (all were 8 oz. filets) were prepared as requested and the sides were also very good.
Valet parking was very easy and quick.
Our server, Roy, was a jewel. Friendly, well-informed, just perfect for our evening out. We took his recommendation on the choice of steaks & it was spot-on. He really made my birthday meal a little extra special! We love Shula's for special dinners out & the food is always wonderful.
Asked my oldest son where he'd like to go for his birthday dinner and Shulas was his immediate choice. We both ordered the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The sides were ample, fresh, and full of flavor. Although I abstained from dessert, my son chose the cheesecake and raved about its "amazing goodness" as he called it. Our waiter was terrific and gave us excellent service throughout our meal. Was a very nice dinner overall and we will be back again soon. Thanks Shulas for making our night!
Way too noisy. No table clothes, plates, thus steak only lukewarm, no creamed spinach (what kind of steakhouse doesn’t have that), loud, obnoxious lobbyists...dinner way overpriced for value.....w Thanks ‘t be back!
Our server didnt come to our table until about 5-7 after we had sat down
We never received bread with our dinner but I'm not sure if it was included or there was an extra charge with it
Lady at the podium was on her phone when I came back from the restroom and didnt even noticed I had walked back in
Gentleman in a grey suit and the server were very personable and attentive
We had a table in the middle of the restaurant's freeway. It was busy and noisy--not very much value for what we paid. The ambiance was a bit over the top.
You can skip this restaurant.
Great food & impeccable Service. Food is all ways outstanding. So far any thing we have tried great. Went for wife birthday and it was wonderful. Just wish it was closer to the north side of town. We'd eat here a lot more.
Reservations for 4 for business dinner. Our waitress was very good and attentive without being a pest. Food was a disappointment and pricey.
I told my customer now I remember why I stopped coming here. NOISY! So loud you found yourself yelling to each other just to be heard.
Will not be back.
We went to Shula's to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service and the food at the restaurant were everything we could have hoped for. We ordered the bone-in filet and the lobster ravioli - both were cooked as ordered and turned out to be delicious.
Michelle did a great job serving us. Everyone made us feel at home!
Soup was good. Appetizer was good, the filet for dinner was not. Tasted like a meat glue steak. The meat was not the quality you would expect for the price. My wife wanted no croutons on her salad. There was one crouton on the bottom. That tells me they just picked out the croutons and left didn't notice one. She is allergic to them. Not good.
Horrible and disappointing service!
This was among the better experiences that we have had dining at Shula's. Minus one error in serving sides--which could have been a kitchen error or a service error--the service was quite competent. The best entree was the filet medallions, cooked exactly as requested. My wife loved her drink; my white sangria was not as good as on prior visits. The birthday cheesecake with a candle is always appreciated for a birthday dinner.
Very good but for the price and the setting we were a bit surprised at some little things that wern’t perfect. Would be awesome for a lesser restaurant but we just expected perfect and it wasn’t .
Even with reservations, we were seated unspectacularly in the middle of the room. To be fair, I didn’t see many tables or booths that lent themselves to a quiet intimate dinner.
After ordering appetizers, we were told the lobster appetizer was not available. When I said, “no lobster?”, we were told yes, there was another lobster but not the one that went with the appetizer. I asked if we could have that one with the appetizer and I’d pay the difference. The lobster was brought without the other appetizer items. When we asked for them, they were happily brought but was charged for all- over $50 just for the appetizer. And according to my significant other, the lobster was over cooked .
Also- never got a lobster fork.
And we had to ask for pepper. Most places I’ve been to, ground pepper is offered as soon as the meal comes out.
None of these things was a deal breaker- the rest of the food and service were good. It’s just that for the place and the price, we expected great and got- something less.
Our server Adam made the experience even better! Great food, great atmosphere.
The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. My only critique would be the noise level because of a large party that was seated close by (fifteenish people). It would be nice if all large parties were held in a separate room to keep the romantic atmosphere in tact.
