We took our grandson for his 20th birthday. He really enjoyed his dinner.
Wonderful as always. We love the ambiance and great food!
As usual, our dining experience at Shuhei was superb!
Dining room is very lively at lunchtime. Not sure if they need more wait-staff or what, but there is a long wait time between being seating and having someone take our order. Food is good but service needs to speed up at lunch time.
Great experience at the restaurant but the manager Gave me a really hard time about using my OpenTable rewards. He said I needed to print it out. I had to show him the rewards card that says it just needs to be pulled up.
Food was excellent. Service was superb. Everything was wonderful except for the prices. They seemed a little steep in comparison to other sushi restaurants in the area. Overall a good experience though.
Very nice.Lots of choices. All good
Great food! Fabulous waitress!
However noise level made it difficult to hear our table mates. Small tables & tight venue. But if you value authentic Japanese food, Shuhei is ICHIBAN!
Also impressed with the quality of sushi and sashimi at Shuhei. The management and staff are always courteous and appreciate your business. Yes, I am a regular, once every 2 weeks !!
We are regulars here because the food is consistently good as is the service. We regularly get sashimi and the quality of fish is outstanding.
Sushi was very fresh . Service was excellent . Great follow up , we never had to look for our server . I look forward to our next visit .
Nice wine by the glass. Excellent sushi rolls! Very fresh. Sometimes can be slow but tonight timing was very good. Service was excellent.
As always Shuhei was a wonderful family dining experience
Always fantastic. Service is wonderful and the food is fantastic. It does get a bit noisy during peak times - that’s the downside.
Always great food and service at Shuhei.
FRESH, the sushi is very fresh. It is moist, well prepared, nicely presented, and delivered to your table just as ordered. Nice size portions, and very authentic. One of our party who does not eat sushi had the Hiroshi steak. It looked wonderful, and was enjoyed especially with the accompanying shiitake garlic cream sauce. The service was very attentive, and not rushed. Not an inexpensive meal, but for the quality of the food it was reasonably priced. A bit hard to find, hidden behind the building, but well worth the experience
There's no question that Shuhei has the freshest sushi in town and a great menu of other items for the non sushi eaters!! I wouldn't say that the restaurant has notable ambiance though as the tables are very close together and there's nothing outstanding about the decor but we go there for the food!! This visit was interesting, definitely not our usual service, perhaps we had a new waitress. She never asked if we wanted anything to drink, besides the water that was poured for us and the meal my husband and I usually get comes with a side of steamed rice but we didn't get that this time.
Used to be a staple in Cleveland. Hadn’t been back in over ten years. While the fish itself is fine, the quality and preparation of the rice is really not good, closer to the kind of rice you get from supermarket fish. I think the quality has really slipped. They had dead poinsettias at the main entrance with dead leaves all over the floor. This lack of attention to detail is also reflected in the food.
The halibut was so delicious. Flavors are subtle and complex. The ingredients are so fresh. The shumai wasabi that are fried are wonderful. A favorite appetizer from our years coming here. Salmon with leek miso sauce a winner.
Best sushi we’ve had so far in Cleveland. Highly recommend. The waitresses were wonderful as well.
Best sushi joint in town. Been coming here forever. Always fantastic.
The food is great. Let me say that first. However, it is extremely expensive in my opinion. A party of 6, one of whom didn't order an entree , and only 1 of whom had a beer, cost $182. I think it's the best Japanese food on the Eastside of Cleveland, but be prepared to spend.
Sushi had too much rice. Some of our rolls weee mostly rice. But the middle was good
Our favorite family restaurant in Cleveland
Shuhei is consistently the best sushi in the Cleveland area. They also have an extensive Japanese menu with classic and modern dishes. Restaurant is always busy so using open table really helps getting a reservation. Not a cheap night out but great food well worth it.
Split sushi platter and shrimp tempura. Including soup and salad. Terrific. Service prompt and friendly.
One of our favorites!!
Greeted well. Seated quickly. Waitresses are all relatively attentive. Food is great. Can get in and out quickly if desired or stay as long as you like. Love it.
Very nice food , service , and ambiance! We were well taken care of and all enjoyed the food and service. We will return. Thanks
We always enjoy dining at Shuhei. The food is consistently of high quality and he service is very good. In fact, it’s our favorite sushi restaurant because we know that the fish is always fresh.
We have frequented this eatery for years. Never disappointed.
We go to Shuhei every week for the sushi, which is always extremely fresh. We’ve occasionally eaten cooked the sushi and cooked entrees are excellent
Late dinner at Shuhei - a great way to celebrate New Years Eve.
The shushi menu is extensive. I had the scamp tempura and it was outstanding... the restaurant is definitely a great value...
This restaurant is always excellent, whether for lunch or dinner.
It was outstanding.
We have come to Shuhei since its opening and it has remained a favorite in the Cleveland area.
The service was quite slow for a 6 reservation with only a few people at that time. My food was a little dried out but it took so long I didn't want to send it back. I believe others at the table were pleased .
