About Shuckers Oyster Bar
Boasting the beautifully carved oak paneling and unique tin ceiling of the haberdashery it once was in the 1930s, Shuckers is one of Seattle's oldest and most pre-eminent oyster bars.

The menu is still quite limited due to the limited capacity. But the features were delicious! The restaurant also had blackout paper on the windows while we were there due to protests the previous week. It felt pretty dark and strange as there was no natural light.
Very limited menu. Food nothing special. Salmon special good but could get at any Seattle area restaurant. Husband had Dungeness Crab Pasta, which was really just Mac and Cheese with a hint of crab. Listed as an entree but felt like a side dish.
Only 2 dessert offers. Chocolate Lava cake was merely dense chocolate cake with chocolate sauce. Not a lava cake.
Service was slow and we felt like we were more of a nuisance to the staff.
Understand Covid-19 impact and restaurants running on limited staff to manage costs, but we were charged the same.
Do not recommend.

My family and I really enjoyed our experience at Shuckers. Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. We look forward to our next meal there.
Thrilled to find the restaurant open. The menu though extremely limited offered some tasty items. The chowder is still exceptional⭐️. Staff is doing a commendable job while working with various constraints. We are longtime Shuckers diners and our dining event was special because we we’re dining with a dear friend who has been tucked away for over a year.
Everyone was so nice. All safety protocols were handled. We could tell they were happy to be open, even though it’s only two days a week. We felt like very special guests.
The menu was too small. They are known for oysters and did not even have a baked oyster choice. Service started off well but then our waiter walked by us at least 10 times when we were done waiting for a check. My husband's wine glass had been empty for 20 minutes and they were not crowded so not sure what the problem was. I would not recxoment shuckers until they get back up to speed

Halibut served with inappropriate heavy sauce (cover the delicate teste of the fish)

The oysters my guest thought was outstanding!! The bottle pinot noir was exceptionally good!! My entre fish and chips was particularly good!! My guest requested scallops which she indicated best she had ever enjoyed!! They appeared to sauteed perfectly!! All and all the meals were certainly enjoyable and OUTSTANDING!!!!
Thanks to the staff who worked hard to make the dining experience wonderful. The menu was limited but still provided great options and it was delicious.
Went for a date a way from the baby and had a lovely dinner. The grilled halibut was delicious!
Ordered crab cakes, halibut and steak.
Crab cakes- average and delicious. The sauce is outstanding!
Halibut- Served in a bowl with a sauce under, it has a bit of kick but I thought it was delicious.
Steak- My husband ordered medium rare, for my taste it was too chewy so I ate the halibut, he said it was really good though.
Ordered a martini- Glad I only ordered one to share, we drank in the hotel before coming down and it was mighty strong!

Extremely limited menu. Food was good but way overpriced and skimpy servings. Bar drinks were awful.

I eat here every time I come to Seattle. I am always treated like an old friend and everyone goes out of their way to say hi and ask how I’m doing. The service is absolutely impeccable and they are so attentive in all the right ways. The food is always great but it’s the service that has always kept me coming back again and again.
It was Shuckers before Brandi Carlile and the Symphony .. Wow, What a great start it was... Scallops and Risotto was fabulous... the Crab Salad was wonderful... Even our Hamburger lover was so impressed !! Service was sharp and well done.. and reservations were awaiting .. Thank so much

This restaurant used to be a quintessential Seattle experience—uniquely offering world class seafood with a touch of class and representative of the five-star hotel it is privileged to be a part of. Now it comes across as just another ‘off-the-street’ high-faultin over-priced restaurant trying to get it right. What a shame. This was our special place for more than fifteen years for lunch on a Saturday, and I mean lunch. Now it’s just character less. The quality of the food is subpar and overly salty, the service is well-meaning but inattentive, the portions sparser with the oysters being smaller. Symbolic of the diminished soul of a place and not someplace I would ever recommend to a traveler as a ‘taste of Seattle.’
Food was excellent. Service was fine. I made reservations for just myself and the host asked if I wanted to sit at the bar, which I didn’t since it was loud and I was dining solo. Plus I made reservations..
I asked for a small table tucked away and he sat me in the bar on a high top right next to the Specials Board overlooking the entire restaurant.
It was super awkward.
This was an exceptional restaurant! From the woman who took our reservation to the hostess and bartender we were treated like family. But most of all Darla, our waitress made our night. She was the waitress we have ever had! The food was fantastic too!

Wonderful experience with the exception of the oysters Rockefeller which my wife was disappointed with. There must have been a different preparation than what we had experienced back East. Otherwise a great meal and overall experience. Thanks again. We probably should have spoken up but it was Valentines Day and didn’t want to let it spoil the occasion.

Poor service. Waiter was not knowledgeable about the food or drink menu and brought courses out poorly timed. Rockefeller oysters were bland. Salad was bland and underwhelming. Derby Bird cocktail was refreshing and pleasant.

Suggest they will hire waiters know their menu well, and know how to calculate basic math. Half dozen of oyster at happy hour is $2×6=$12, not $19!

We took our daughter and boy friend to Shuckers to celebrate her birthday. We had the clam chowder and halibut and chips...it was fantastic! Jenny and Robb had oysters on the half shell as an appetizer and mussels as a main course and they were very satisfied. Our waiter was quite attentive. The overall experience was great!

The food was great. Our server was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations. We had the calamari appetizer and appetizer sized chopped salads. We shared the oysters and opted to try a half dozen raw and a half dozen cooked. We were able to try two different preparations for the cooked oysters. We had read reviews that mentioned the blueberry blackberry pie for dessert, and that was definitely the star of the show. The portion was more than enough to share.

When I made reservation I requested a specific table and didn’t get it. Caesar salad was very mediocre.
Raw oysters were good and smoked oysters were ok. Chocolate cake tasted good, but was so enormous, that it was a bit off putting.

Service was terrific. Very nice oysters to start followed by an excellent Caesar salad. The sablefish was was perfectly prepared. Ended the meal with an two scoops of ice cream that was flavorful and creamy. Especially the cappuccino chip. The last word gin cocktail was superb. Highly recommend the restaurant.

Great oysters. When we were there there was no music which was odd. The food was good, not as good as what we had anticipated though. Left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

We've been to Shuckers a number of times, and have liked the place. This time, for a reason unknown to us, and with the restaurant not even half full, the young man seating us placed us next to a family with 2 small children. When I asked for another table, he said the table he showed us was the table they'd chosen for us and they were expecting a full house. As if that had anything to do with anything. There were a number of other tables for 2 available, and I'd made a reservation, so why not seat us at another table? Within a half hour, he seated 3 other couples at the other tables. I think that person needs to be trained that if someone would like another table, they should be accommodated.
We sat there for at least 10 or more minutes when our waitress rushed over to tell us our drinks orders should be available soon. Of course, no one had taken our order--she'd been misinformed and thought we'd been taken care of for the moment. Having said that, our waitress was lively and engaging, and we liked her very much.
My husband's salmon was delicious, he said. My fish and chips were less successful. The breading around the fish was rubbery and pasty, as if it had been sitting there since the lunch serving. It just wasn't my night.
I'm generally pretty easily pleased, but forcing us to take a table we didn't want began the evening poorly and it declined from there. When we left, there were fewer than 1/3 of the tables filled, far from the 'full house' the guy at the front expected. Shuckers, don't offend someone who's in front of you in order to save better tables for someone who may not show up. Bad judgment.
