Very small and pricey menu, but food and service was excellent.
Weekend in town with spouse.
The waiter, Rishi, was awesome. Very attentive. The food was spectacular. I had the scallops and my wife the salmon. Both cooked perfectly.
Our server was so nice and the food was delicious! We went on on Christmas and the prime rib entree was fabulous!
Wait staff was attentive and welcoming. Chef graciously accommodated special requests. However, food had to be reheated and cooked veggies were way more crunchy than al dente. We would definitely go back, though.
Great food and service! We missed the Chocolate Fudge Cake and a more private table but everything else was as promised.
Fun festive atmosphere for a pre holiday dinner!
We had dinner at Schuckers last week. Unfortunately, our dinner was disappointing. The restaurant seems to be suffering from the effects of COVID.
Our fish and chips were almost inedible, they tasted like something out of a grocery store freezer. The coleslaw and fries were fine but the chowder was basic. The drinks were small and pricey $16.00 for a cocktail. I hope they improve in 2022, as it always has been a favorite restaurant in the past.
The menu has been abbreviated and there is only one choice of oyster on the half shell. But the fish is of high-quality.
Additionally, the daily menu fish board has been eliminated and the choices are slim.
Service and food was very good.
As always the food and service at Shuckers was outstanding. The service is professional and focused on ensuring that diners have a positive experience. However, it appears that management is more interested in maximizing the number of customers vs keeping the customers safe during this time of COVID. We have enjoyed eating at Shuckers frequently over many years but we were shocked at the number of very large tables of diners, the closeness of each of the tables which put every diner close to the next table. This does not make for a comfortable dining experience at this time. We will book a reservation again but if this situation continues will definitely have to cancel. That will be sad for us as Shuckers has been out "go to" place for many years.
Met up with friends from out of town and picked a perfect place. Our table was ready when we arrived and our server was very attentive. Substituted our wine selection with a yummy choice and let both of ladies taste before serving. All our seafood selections - oysters, scallops and salmon were so fresh and prepared perfectly. The sides that came with the entrees could not have been better and the potatoes were great with the scallops and the polenta highlighted the salmon. Even though this is a pricey restaurant the entire meal - clam chowder, wedge salad, crab cocktail, lava cake, berries with cream and the entrees were well worth the $. Will definitely return to this classic restaurant.
Arrangements through Open Table were perfect. We all found something we loved on the menu which is not extensive but everything we ordered was fantastic. There is not one thing we’d change. It was a special night-
Thanks, Shuckers and Open Table!
One of the best places to eat in Seattle. Decor, service, and food were all excellent.
Lovely classic institution in a historic downtown hotel. Service is outstanding. Food is pricey but quite good and consistent, especially the oysters and chowder. For being downtown and in the Fairmount Hotel with all that charm it oozes, it’s worth it.
Outstanding food and service. Waitress was very professional. The cocktails were very well done.
Very limited menu and quite pricey (halibut $48??)
Shuckers has changed their menu, seriously limited options, only one type of oysters and our favorite option of having them fried no longer available. Quality of the food served was lower than our previous experiences. Waiter just seemed genuinely annoyed the entire evening. Not sure what is going on, I miss the oldShuckers I use to know.
Very good food. Wait staff was outstanding. It was a little loud in there, but understandable.
Had an enjoyable experience. Will come again.
Amazing oysters. The clam chowder is a must. The scallops were cooked perfectly.
It's a seafood restaurant, so I suggest ordering seafood. The oysters, clam chowder, and crab louie salad were great. My husband's ribeye steak was not. I cook better steak at home and it doesn't cost me almost $50. I think they increased their prices during COVID. We were in town traveling, so I don't know how prices were before but they were a lot higher than photos posted on review websites. The staff were great, so I would come back for the convenience of it being inside my hotel and for the seafood.
During this time of Covid, the menu is very limited. I understand the challenges of remaining open, but worth noting.
Also, although no fault of Shucker’s, we experienced a chilling encounter with a drug addict shooting up at the entrance to the restaurant. The person became aware of a diner attempting to exit and became belligerent. Attacking the diner and trying to enter the restaurant. When will this stop in Seattle?
A classic Seattle staple - great seafood (the best oysters in town) and lovely ambiance.
Great food and wonderful service! Will come back :)
I really liked the energy of Shuckers. It was buzzing with activity, the staff worked quickly and efficiently, the food was delicious and hot upon arrival. My martini was perfect!! We don't come into the city often, however, when we do we have expectations that it will be a great time. Shuckers helped kick off a fun and exciting evening. BTW, we had a couple extra requests/needs and the Shuckers staff was graciously accommodating which ensured the evenings start was a success.
Great to have Shuckers open again. It's as good as ever. Great seafoods and service.
Menu is very limited. Quite expensive.
The menu was very limited. Great atmosphere but the food was just ok.
As a regular customer to shuckers (pre- COVID) our experience was a huge disappointment. The service was amazing - but the food was bland , prices egregious, and the menu limited. $50 for 3 seared scallops- and charged for mediocre bread - spent nearly $200 on a meal that could get at Duke’s for half the cost. I think they need to figure out their identity and won’t be back until they do.
Shuckers is an outstanding restaurant, well worth a visit—or many. And while I’m sure other staff are great, my personal experience with Darla was one of truly exceptional customer service.
Shuckers food and service are Exceptional !!! We have been there multiple times and have always enjoyed Shuckers very much !!!
If you like oysters, this is the place to go in Seattle.
Intimate but busy restaurant with excellent service--thanks to the staff that greeted us and to our server, Kevin! Pricey but the amount of food included was worth it. Made for a memorable Thanksgiving!
Wonderful thanksgiving meal!
We always love dinner there. They are very nice and the food is consistently great.
Very good seafood and burgers. Solid wine list. Excellent service.
Food excellent. Service by kevin not as good as Jim. No boggy, but he asked if we wanted bread, we responded yes, bread plates removed to make room, bread forgotten? Wine pour a bit light.
Everything at Shuckers was wonderful - it had great ambiance without being dark, we were seated quickly and our servers were friendly and fun without making everything too casual. Struck a great balance between a high-quality meal without a lot of fuss. The clam chowder was excellent, salmon, fish and chips were perfection.
Always an excellent experience, service, ambience food.
Our waiter took an hour and a half to take our food order and we had to hunt him down for our food then our check. Food was amazing but our waiter was just a space cadet.
Very positive. We were accommodated at the time and table requested. The service was outstanding. Thank you Jim. Good to see you again.
