SHU - Sushi House Unico - Bel Air Ratings and Reviews
Just too loud for a first date. I even sat on same side of the table rather than across from her, but still loud and no feeling of intimacy or privacy.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Food good but pricey
Had nice, laid back neighborhood vibe - just wasn't the best choice for a date
I lunch at this restaurant frequently, but this past experience was okay, not the greatest. The hostess was abrupt and literally gave me and my friend the worst table after she's seen us lunch here many times. It was very crowded so service wasn't as good as usual and the noise level was louder than loud. The food, as usual, was spectacular however.
Our favorite sushi restaurant!
We find the sushi here the freshest and best-prepared we have encountered anywhere (other than Japan). We always order the spicy tuna roll - it's got a kick, but not too much, the tuna tastes straight out of the sea, and the whole combination is marvelous. We also love the fresh spider roll, the Shu roll, halibut sashimi, eel and avocado roll. If you come on the early side, and are fortunate in who is seated nearby, you can actually hear yourself think, too, a virtue in popular L.A. restaurants.
EVERYTHING was delicious! The sushi was fresh and tasty. I was told to try the "vegetable tempura roll" (antithetical to a sushi restaurant dish) but it was INCREDIBLE!! Definitely try it. Rainbow roll was fab too. A non-sushi friend had the wagyu beef dish and loved it.
Wow what an amazing find! Hidden in the hills this was one of the best sushi restaurants that I have been to in a very long time! I was very impressed with the quality of fish that was used. I absolutely loved everything that we ordered! The staff was so friendly and parking was very easy and free! Very excited to return back here and try some new things!
