First time visiting and coming to Butchers night. Although it was fully booked and very busy the tables are spaced out really well so your table can have a good conversation without shouting. Service was first class from all areas. Butchers night is amazing you really must try it if you love your steak. Staff very friendly and very well organised due it being a very busy night. Thank you everyone well definitely be back soon.

Stayed at the Chapel, Walcot house and the Powys arms was recommended. Booked online and we were very pleased with a cosy welcoming pub to enjoy our first evening. Service was friendly and prompt at our table by the log burner, and the dining room quickly filled with guests so the room was lively. The choice of food was very good, we both chose from the specials board. The food arrived in good time and was without doubt delicious. A good selection of ales and easy to order from our table. The price was the biggest surprise as we have become used to how expensive Hampshire has become. If we had been staying longer we would not hesitate to return and wholly recommend.

Excellent sunday lunch on NYE. The service and food were really great throughout. Would recommend and we will hope to return soon.

New Year’s Day Sunday lunch for belated birthday . As usual Great service, efficient friendly staff and lovely food & lovely setting by the river. Returning visit as have been many times and always first class service. Can’t wait to return.
