My first visit to Shorebreak. Server was pleasant, friendly and was able to give a good explanation of the food. The dinner itself was excellent.
This was our first visit to Shorebreak Lodge, but certainly won't be our last. We liked that they encourage sharing of plates, and we did just that. I had the short-rib soup and an appetizer portion of scallops while my wife had the angus burger. We also shared a plate of brussel sprouts with bacon and figs. Everything was cooked to perfection. The soup was delightful, very hearty and flavorful. The scallops were tender with a slightly spicy sauce that finished with citrus. I am not a huge fan of sprouts, but they were tasty and I ate more than my share. The burger was a bit over cooked, but still full of flavor. Our server, Michael, was friendly and attentive, but not pushy. A delightful evening, which we hope to repeat soon.
Wonderful! Always great quality food and experience. Great wine selection from a knowledgeable sommelier. Love Shorebreak!
Food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. Would go back again for sure.
We LOVE Shorebreak Lodge. Great Service and AMAZING food! The octopus appetizer was amazing and tasted more like lobster than octopus. I absolutely love their Surf & Turf with amazing scallops and delicious short ribs with to die for Parmesan risotto - and if you make the perfect bite of scallop, short rib and risotto in 1 bite you will have the most amazing food experience - all of the flavors together are amazing. We'll be back soon!
We had an 8pm reservation for four. You wouldn’t have guessed it was the off season or a late dinner - the place was lively when we arrived, and only became more lively as the evening continued. We picked a nice booth further from the festivities in the back dining room, but the room filled up shortly.
We started with a the soup of the day: a creamy tomato and mushroom bisque that everyone raved over. We continued with the burrata and the seasoned olives - both were appetizing but simple snacks for our party of four. I had the surf and turf of day boat scallops and short ribs over grits, which I enjoyed, although the short ribs may have been too salty for my liking. Our table had two orders of the steamed baby clams - another home run. My husband had a spicy shrimp dish; when they say spicy, they were not kidding around, the chili flavor overwhelmed the shrimp so he soaked them in the leftover broth from the steamed clams to make them palatable. My in-laws enjoyed their scallop entree and the beet salad - no complaints and they ate every bite. The service was impeccable, everything arrived in a manner where we felt neither rushed nor neglected, and our drinks were always full. We will definitely return.
WE had a wonderful time with our friends we had not seen in a while. We had Dante as our server and he was fantastic. The food was great and the owner came up to the table to check in on us and that was very nice.
Another great night at Shorebreak Lodge...always enjoy talking to Shawn and receiving excellent service from Michael...
Overall quite good. Had tasting menu and was very good except first course. Portions were QUITE small. Needed tweezers to pick up items.
Wine service was good and server did excellent job of explaining but again wine quantities were very small.
Amazing dinner, fantastic Service! Definitely a favorite!
I love Shorebreak Lodge b/c the food is great and the vibe is so chill, mellow and cool. I go there as much for the atmosphere as the food, frankly. I love the black and white surf photos and the white leather bar area. Our waitress, Joely, was warm and engaging with us, also telling us more about the restaurant and local events going on. It was a good time as usual. Wine was excellent and so was the dessert.
Michael was great
I have been going to shore breaks for several years now and I have never been disappointed .
A little cramped - every time the person behind me moved I felt it. Very loud crowd making a conversation difficult.
This was my first visit and there will be more. Very good food at a reasonable price.
Loved everything about this restaurant! Food was excellent and the service was top notch! The owner was so friendly. We can't wait to go back!
This is our go to restaurant in Rehoboth, especially in the off season when parking is no problem. The food and drinks were great, Michael our server was terrific, he was helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and bar offerings!
Michael- server, excellent
I’ve been going here for years and used to love this place but think it has suffered a bit in the past year. The front of the restaurant was so loud that we couldn’t hear the hostess. Once seated, it became clear the restaurant was extremely understaffed with only 2 servers. The beet salad was very low on beets, the Thai chicken wings (a former favorite) were much smaller than previously and the dessert was cloyingly sweet to the point we couldn’t finish it. That said, the duck entree and Pinot noir selection was delicious, bumping my rating up from 2 stars to 3.
We came to Rehoboth for our end-of-year getaway and decided to try Shorebreak Lodge one evening. It was a wonderful and delightful place to celebrate or just be with family/friends! Although we went on a weekend and the Tasting Menu is only served Mon-Fri, the owner, Kate, was super nice and accommodating with her chef. We did get to try the Tasting Menu and every person in our party was extremely delighted with the choice. We also tried the 5-course wine pairing, totally letting the restaurant prescribe our experience. We highly recommend this place if you're in town and let them choose for you. You'll not regret it!
A good evening out. However, they had power problems that knocked out the computers. They recovered and the meal went fine. Excellent soup. Will return again. Staff was very good considering the power problems.
Awesome dinner! Friendly service! Live entertainment! Bustling bar scene!
Food was some of the best I've had in Delaware. The wine list had a nice selection and we found a very nice bottle. The second bottle must have been kept outside since it was sooo cold it tasted like grape juice. To make matters worse the waiter took 3 of 5 wine glasses while we still had half a bottle. I'm guessing they were trying to turn the table and were rushing us out the door.
Sat in front of bar which was little loud because party happening in back. Also a bit cool, very cold outside with drafts every time door opened. These are the only points that took away from a perfect evening and these are minor.
Food was excellent, chose multiple plates to share with the favorites being charred octopus which was firm and not at all chewy. Sprouts which were perfectly slightly charred and the burrata plate. Also enjoyed the smoked shrimp bisque, very rich and favorable. Food was very fresh and prepared quickly and perfectly. A couple of cocktails were also enjoyed, the egg nog excellent.
Michael our server was very attentive and answered any questions we posed. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Don't want to miss this place.
Excellent tasting menu and wine pairing. Our new favorite restaurant!
Excellent food and service. The place can get a little loud, however.
I thought the drinks were great at the bar and the waiter recommended a fabulous wine. Loved it. All the food was delicious however I thought the portions were a little small for the price paid. If they were a little bigger it would have made a big difference in my impression. Had a delicious poached pear with pumpkin gelato as an ending that was really great.
I would definitely go back.
Excellent service. The octopus was a wonderful texture and taste, everything they said it would be. They are known for mussels which were also excellent. Cocktails were delicious. Cheesecake was very good. This place is easy to pass on the street but don't. It's a Rehoboth gem.
The happy hour at Shorebreak was an incredible deal. My wife and I had a couple drinks and several small plates for a great value. The spicy octopus and mussels were a favorite of ours.
Great place!!! Food was wonderful! Service was excellent!!! If you can read this and can get to Rehoboth Beach come here for dinner you will not regret it!!!
We had a surprisingly nice time: good food, good service, fun music with a singing bartender and a drop-by from the earnest owner. The $25 tasting menu was excellent: homemade charcuterie, a bisque that was nice, a scallop dish and a beef entre, both excellent and an unmemorable dessert (but we're not dessert people). Our expectations were low (beach town in November)but we definitely would go back. Wine list was decent and prices were fair. They offered a pairing menu, but we passed.
Had the best steak dinner I’ve had in Delaware the deckle is excellent as is the scallop app fantastic wine list as well
Great food, wine and service. One of our best dining experiences in Rehobeth. We shall return
We have been to many Rehoboth restaurants but had never tried Shorebreak...we are so glad we did. It was a Wednesday night and there was entertainment including the bartender singing...he was great! The owners were there and they were very personable. Our waiter was great and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back soon!!!
We went to Shorebreak for the tasting menu, which is offered on offseason Sundays for $25. It is a remarkable bargain -- five courses all delicious. I'd encourage anyone in the Rehoboth area to take advantage of it while it lasts.
This place is the hidden gem of Rehoboth Beach. Always have a great meal with top notch service.
My friends and I were celebrating three birthdays in our group and could not have picked a better place to celebrate. Justin, our server, was knowledgeable, efficient, and fun! The service exceeded our expectations, and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant and will return every time I come to Rehoboth.
Food was excellent and our server Dante was exceptional. We all tried the 5 course tasting menu. It was outstanding.
Food was fantastic. Menu had a lot of options makes us want to come back try all the other dishes. Complements to chef everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. Our waiter Justin was excellent he knew every dish on the menu. He mad some great suggestions which tried. He took great care of us. This was our first time at this restaurant and to top it all off the owner gave us a tour of the whole place including outdoor gardens and walk-in box. We would recommend the Shorebreak Lodge to all who want a great meal and service.
