Great evening at Bistronomic! The food was delicious and perfectly prepared and the service was terrific. I highly recommend booking an evening at Bistronomic
Appropriate for up-scale chain hotel food (nicely presented and super-fast service). However, dyed-in-the-wool foodies should look elsewhere.
Limited menu items, service was distracted, and food was OK but not good.
Weekday buffet is lacking in selection, but I get catering to a smaller body of customers. Menu selections appeared inaccurate. Example - a panini isn't a sandwich of toast. It needs to be grilled. Additionally, corn flakes on French toast is a choice of approach, but it seems a bit beneath Hyatt quality. Food didn't taste bad. In fact, we enjoyed all we ordered, including the fruit plate.
Service was excellent!
I was very much impressed at the flawless open table system. I will most certainly use it again. The Shor had all of the essentials of good food at a reasonable price, and prompt service. Thank you.
Reservations people were very accommodating when I had to call and change time and number of people for our table. Service was mediocre. You can tell they are used to turning tables quickly. I would recommend if you are attending something at McCormick place and need to have a business meal, but would not go out of my way to go there otherwise.
Waitress worked with us for a special cocktail!
The Shor Restaurant is the best restaurant at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. The setting is pretty plain. It looked more like a coffee shop to me in a nice restaurant. My dinner guest and I both had a seafood appetizer and a fish entrée. Both were superb. The price was low. What a bargain! I would go back again.
Gourmet oatmeal was excellent! Met client for breakfast before a tradeshow at McCormick Place. On the way to the show...very convenient.
It's not great. It's really expensive. But after a long day on the McCormack floor, it's there. You will satisfy your hunger. It will take a long time. And it won't be that great, but otherwise it's off to Chicago. Even Grub Hub took an hour. C'est la vie.
Food was so so. Nothing to write home about. Tasted like typical hotel restaurnant food.
Awesome made-to-order omelet!
The convenience to the convention center is an advantage; however, our dinners were suboptimal in terms of flavor -- very bland; chicken breast literally tasted like dead chicken (which it was) - but, compared to the outstanding breast of chicken meal at Victor's (Excelsior, MN) this week, this was a minus zero (one bite was enough). The noodles were consumed with bland sauce which was only warm upon serving.
On the other hand, because of convenience, I would recommend this for lunch -- salads, etc are good!
I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. I had breakfast their 5 days in a row and lunch their 3 days. I found the food very good and the service excellent. There are essentially no restaurants near the convention center which is why I made reservations at the Shor but in the end I really enjoyed the food and did not get tired of the menu. I highly recommend the Shor.
We had an early dinner before the marathon. Our server was excellent helping us with customising our orders. The martinis were great. The food was tasty, well prepared, hotel restaurant food.
Breakfast the next morning was superb. The French toast was delicious and creative. Even the eggs, toast, hash browns were perfection. Again, our server was top notch.
The Organic Chicken Chasseur was tuff and I didn't see one tomato. It also had a bone in it also. Maybe it should have been a chicken Breast filet instead. Sautéed or grilled. Noodles were more. I guess to cover up the small chicken breast. Won't order that again. I duplicated it at home and it was much much better with my heirloom tomatoes. Sautéed the mushrooms in olive oil along with the chicken breast. More tender. Cut with a real knife and not with a butter knife. Work on this. I could show the cook how it should be done. It should have been hotter & not lurk warm. 🐓👎🏾
The dining was very good and we enjoyed the food, service and relative low noise level so we could talk. I was there meeting my sister from Arizona and this was convenient for them and us.
Poor service and food was just OK. Took forever to just get breakfast to the table.
Service took 45 min and they still got it wrong. Asked for manager and he stopped by but that did it help much. We were told meal was for free but we already had breakfast included with room.
Nothing decent in this hotel to have a nice meal.
Disappointing
Dined with a group of 10. Wait staff did an excellent job. Half ordered off menu and food was excellent. The othe half went with the buffet which was disappointing.
We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. We had concert tickets at the Arie Crown Theater and wanted a place close to the venue for a pre-concert dinner. Shor Restaurant proved to be an excellent choice! There were six of us. We all ordered different appetizers and pizza and shared with each other. All of the food was good. Three had cocktails and said they were good, especially the Long Island Ice Teas! I would go back and I would recommend it to friends and family. Perfect for a dinner and concert nite! Also, our waiter was very friendly and humorous.
Convenient if attending an event at McCormick Place. Make sure to make reservations in advance or be prepared for a long wait.
Shor exceeded my expectatations at the convention hotel. A few days later I ordered the same meal "to go" instead of room service.
For a hotel restaurant in Chicago, this place is very god in terms of price and quality of food / menu selection. I was impressed in terms of how well prepared the food actually was (including plating). Service was good even though they were quite busy and our water and coffee was consistently filled with regularity.
Food was delicious. Ordered the lump crab cake appetizer and mashed potatoes. ....both were excellent!! Crab cake was my fave!!!
When we (my customers and myself) arrived for dinner the restaurant was closed! The bar manager put us in a quiet room and we ordered from the bar menu. With that said the food was good and it was quiet. However, that does not make up for the meal and arrangements i had thought i reserved.

From the greeting from Martha as you arrive through the great desserts, this restaurant is a consistent quality dining experience. I highly recommend.
They have am excellent lunch time buffet here!
Waiters try to push overpriced buffet. Only highlight was fresh omelette station. For twenty dollars not worth it.
I had read previous poor reviews of Shor, but my group did not want to leave the convention center so we went to Shor. The restaurant was approximately 25% full, but the waitstaff appeared to be completely overwhelmed. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. I ordered Mahi Mahi on the recommendation of the server, and it was nearly inedible.
It's worth the cab ride or walk to leave McCormick Place. Shor was not a good experience
Was expecting hotel food and was surprised with much better than expected food and great service.
This is a wonderful place to take customers to get away from show floor. Very good food
When doing business in/around McCormick Place the food options are unfortunately a bit limited - Shor however is a great place to go when you want to sit down with clients or guests and have a nice meal in a comfortable setting. Pricing is as expected but the food quality and the service are wonderful.
The only true sit down restaurant where you can eat and talk buisness. Food was fair tasting from the menu selection and buffet was school like tasting.
We arrived into Chicago late in the evening and ate at Shor principally because we were staying at the Hyatt that evening. The food was quite good, but pricey, as one might expect. The service was congenial, although somewhat erratic. The wine list was adequate.I'm sure Chicago has much better restaurants to offer, but for those pressed for time and staying at the hotel, Shor offers an easy avenue for acquiring a decent meal at downtown prices.
For breakfast, this is conveniently located between the hotel and convention center. The food is average - typical diner good in a slightly better setting.
Food was okay, but the service was outstanding! My appetizer was really good, but the shrimp in my pasta dish were over-cooked and tasted off. However, the staff realized that I hadn't eaten it and inquired why. When I explained why, they removed the dish from my bill. (I ordered off the menu.) My husband and stepson seemed to enjoy the buffet - especially the dessert. Great ambience.
Shor is only restaurant in the Hyatt McCormick Place and there are no other restaurants in the area. Breakfast buffet is mediocre with respect to variety.
Best crab cakes in Chicago.........much much improved since reviews on trip advisor.
