The chairs at this restaurant are very load when the are being moved. We discussed this with both the waiter and the manager and they told us this has been an on going issue!!
On vacation and wanted to plan a nice dinner out. When we arrived, the hostess was welcoming and seated us right away since we had a reservation.
After that point, the service went downhill. It was about 7 minutes before we saw our waiter and someone even brought us water.
Once we were finally able to order, we had been brought bread, and after we’d finished the bread the empty plate sat there the entire meal. Not one person came by to remove the empty plate.
When our food finally came out, everything looked good and tasted great! We were super satisfied with the food.
Towards the end of our meal, our waiter came back over and asked how everything was. I said we were ready for the check, our food plates were empty and they were taken. I had placed my napkin on the empty bread plate, which still did not get taken.
It took 10 minutes to receive our check and I watched him bring the check to another couple before us, as well as go around and have casual conversation with the other guests.
Overall, the food was amazing, but I wouldn’t go back simply because of the service.
Have been there quite a few times and always good service and good food. Nothing particularly creative, but very good seafood and steaks, as well as salads. Great view if you go around sunset and if it's not too hot or raining, you can sit outside and watch the sunset.
Food is amazing, service is even better. Try to get a table in Aki's area, he's the man.
We wanted to try this restaurant to celebrate my guys birthday based on other reviews. We got there just before sunset and had a table next to a window. It was a wonderful view. First, our server Maria was excellent. She knew the menu well and was attentive and super friendly. At her recommendation he had the Lobster MacnCheese and I had the pork chop. Both were really good, but the lobster was too rich for me. However, if you love lobster this dish was filled with it. There is a nice wine list, and Maria gave us a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy. All in all a great experience but for one thing: this place is ridiculously noisy! Chairs scraping the floor sound like they are piercing your skull, and I’m deaf in one ear. They really should fix this because it ruins the ambience in a great restaurant with a great view. If you go, ask for Maria as she is awesome.
Not the best dining experience I've had on Clearwater Beach. Suppose I would be expecting a little more in style and presentation for the price, compared with other restaurants. I've eaten here a few times, not in the last year, but the menu is not as good.
I also felt kind of dismissed when arriving as we weren't staying in the hotel, we were taken to a table in the middle of the room and when I asked if we could sit somewhere else, the hostess was not impressed.
Food was absolutely amazing - so good we came back twice! The first visit we had the lobster Mac & cheese and the lobster scallop pasta... our second night we both had the steak. All meals were incredible! To top it off, our server, Aki, made the night perfect, through his attentive service. Definitely recommend visiting this restaurant for a nice night out.
We absolutely love this restauraunt! Food is amazing and service is outstanding! We loved Maria R. She is the best server ever and we will ask for her when we go again!
Great food and service. Our waitress was perfect met out every needs. Send knew the menu and recommendations for a great meal.
Pretzel bun was not a great choice for bread at what is suppose to be more of a finer dinning, but our meals were really good.
Mother’s Day brunch
Your restaurant is way too loud. The biggest factor is the loud LOUD scraping of the chairs, squawking across the floor as people move them in and out from the tables -- you must get some different feet on the chairs to quiet them down. It was awful.
Great buffet for Mother’s Day! Food and ambience were great. Great sangria too
Great food and drinks. Well worth the money! Would recommend
It was below average service and atmosphere. To pricey for what you get. Was not impressed and probably won't go back.
Seated promptly before reservation time..great service..great food...lobster Mac n cheese was great!...
Really great experience. Great food great service. Definitely go back again.
Our first time after hearing and reading great things about SHOR. Food was great, service was quite good (though a bit slow perhaps because we had an early dinner reservation). Nice combination of indoor/outdoor seating with an awesome view of Clearwater Beach. The only complaint was the sound of the door to the outdoor deck slamming each time a waiter entered or left the indoor dining area. An easy fix, but until the adjust the door make sure you're seated far away from the door!
Lovely setting to watch the sunset and enjoy a romantic dinner. Fun to watch the cars and people go by. Food and drinks were wonderful and they paid special attention to my food allergies. Everything was perfect.
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner and the lovely dessert, thank you!
Raw fish, low quality steaks. Isn’t the kitchen it should be. Service was good, but outdone by the poor food.
High quality ingredients in creative and well-executed recipes in an elegantly casual setting with outstanding service.
Attentive but low-key service which we appreciated. Our dinners were spectacular......red snapper was superb! We would definitely come back again. The outside dining was beautiful, and the server, Ben, didn’t rush us through dinner so we could enjoy the sunset. Can’t wait to return!
Great place to eat! Beautiful view of the sunset! Staff was very friendly! Highly recommend this place!
Lovely evening, food was fabulous, service was good and a beautiful sunset. What more could you want!
SHOR is great in terms of food, location, and sunset views. Where it falls down when eating indoors is the combination of a sparse room full of hard surfaces (where sound carries like crazy) and the fact that every chair and table grates loudly across the hard floor every time one of them is moved. An otherwise great meal is spoiled by having to talk over this chair/table noise regularly. SHOR should invest in some of the same soft pads I use on wooden chairs at home to avoid the same problem - a quick trip to Home Depot should do the trick!
Food was excellent. Get the surf and turf!!!
Excellent seafood specialty, efficient service, not too noisy. Impressed with she crab soup, beats all other shellfish soups ever tried. Grouper was amazing. Decor is '' ehh'' but is immediately forgotten when food arrives.
Calamari was the best I've ever had. Not overly breaded. You can actually taste the squid which was delicious. Sister and I split the cobia and sides. It was very filling. Sit on the terrace and you'll be able to watch the sunset over pier 60. Beautiful, magical and extremely memorable!
Shout out to Maria for making this such a pleasant evening for us.
Ok but not worth it if you’re a local.
I expected more from this restaurant from a food taste and service POV. Neither was bad. Just average. Therefore the 3 stars. I ordered Calamari as an appetizer and lobster ravioli for the main course. The calamari was tasty, but the ravioli was a bit insipid.
Excellent service, great food and a perfect buffet for children.
We love it!! Best calamari in the area! Lobster Mac and cheese was also amazing! Great view of Clearwater beach area too!
Excellent experience. Loved the kids buffet, adult meals were fantastic, view of the beach and sunset was awesome ! Our server, Maria was wonderful! Definitely recommend!
Tonight my husband, son and girlfriend dined. We were to be having a reservation at Shepard’s but when we got there we realized it was only buffet. No thank you!!! So I looked it n Open Table and found Shor. So excited we did!!
Airy atmosphere, open kitchen to see chefs and help prepare. Our waitress Maria was great. She was serving the entire place I think. We got there at 7:09 and it wasn’t very crowded but within an hour she was slammed.
We had many appetizers. We had the shrimp , the tuna, and the calamari. We thought the tuna was the best. Then we shared the lobster Mac and cheese. This was fantastic! Hit and an ample amount to share. Then we decided to just jump into the deserts. Not overly impressive selections. We split the agave cheesecake that was wonderful.
We were overall happy with food and service. However felt they truly needed one or even two additional servers so we could get the service we deserved in this upscale restaurant. Maria as I said was great but wish she was available a bit more to meet our needs .
After the beach we wanted something special for dinner. This is definitely the place. Had a beautiful view of the ocean and beach. I ordered the mahi mahi and the fish was too hard but that coconut rice was divine!!! The service was amazing I felt like I was home. The people who work there are amazing. Drinks are good! Excellent experience.
Ok place but not the higher level experience we hoped for with the Hyatt brand. Mediocre food, atmosphere and service.
Brunch was ridculously expensive, with tax, before tip $80 per person. Stone crab claws were small, overcooked and/or not fresh and therefore stuck to the shell...also they were not cracked enough to easily consume. Oysters were subpar, small and dificult to separate from the shell. Food service tables stretched into the main hotel entrance corridor where dozens of people entering/leaving the hotel passed within an arm's length of uncovered food service platters. Used plates not removed from tables when patrons returned to food service. Cheese & fruit service table looked like a tornado had hit it....very unappetizing.
They had special brunch for Easter and though it was a higher price than we normally pay, it had SO much variety and quality food choices - quality. The bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar didn't disappoint. The fun surprise - a donut station. For the food, we love the fresh ingredients, neat choices (such as Duck Tart), and an incredible carving station. The staff were friendly and attentive. The buffet was set up so none of the guests were on top of each other - a nice factor. I would definitely go to a special brunch there again!
We went on Easter brunch. Open table did not point out that there was only a brunch buffet for this day. The menu for this location was very reasonable. However when we got the check for the Easter brunch I was in shock. Open table should have informed us of the price for Easter brunch. The manager of SHOR was very accommodating. After speaking with her we left very happy. The food was amazing and the service was great.
