SHOR - Clearwater Ratings and Reviews
We were not told at the time we made the resv. That this (2/14) would feature a fixed price menu. It was $70 plus drinks for a mediocre 4 course dinner.
Our waitress (from Pittsburgh) was great and overall service was very good.
We will probably not return to SHOR.
Wonderful St Valentine’s Day dinner. I made the reservations a few weeks back after I looked at their menu online. They had a prefix menu tonight. We were a little surprised but the options were fine. Service was excellent and so was the food. The scallops were our favorite. Beautiful sunset of the Gulf of Mexico,
First while we knew it was Valentines Day, they never said anything about having a special Valentines menu you HAD to order from. Very very disappointed in that as the menu did nothing for me. Service was excellent and our server was very good. Food was ok, but here was nothing on the menu that made me change our minds that food was great. I had snapper which was good, but nothing I would certainly rave over. My wife had a chicken selection and again was descent but not worth the price. I may try again just because the ambiance was good and view of the ocean was very nice. But not running back soon.
I can't say enough GREAT things about the Shor at Clearwater Beach Hyatt. We stay here annually while visiting my in-laws and love coming here for an elegant, exquisite dinner. The food is excellent - try the lobster mac & cheese - more lobster than you can imagine - you won't be disappointed. It's succulent and delicious. The view at sunset is amazing. This place is nothing but spectacular. Don't miss it.
The servers were timely and friendly, the food expertly prepared and eye- catching. Even the manager stopped by to introduce himself. When you stay at a quality venue like Hyatt, why go down the road to save a few bucks? We tried local fare and the results were telling. Go where the people strive to please you, it’s always worth it!
We came on a Sunday night to celebrate my mother in laws bday. The bartender seemed very stressed out and it took forever to get a glass of wine. He was also rude to the servers as well. It was quite awkward.
Maria was our server and she was outstanding. She made great recommendations and really took care of us. Maria was attentive, professional, and we will be asking for her when we come back.
I would recommend that the servers and hostess wear a more formal attire. This place has the potential to be a really nice dining spot just seemed odd how casual the servers were. I know it's in a hotel but the pricing of the dishes are definitely upscale.
Overall dining experience was good. Our biggest complaint is that my father-in-law is diabetic and ordered french toast with sugar free syrup. We were told that none was available. The waitress, who did a good job, elevated this to a supervisor to no avail. My in-laws advised that they dine out frequently and have never encountered breakfast service (especially at a higher class establishment) that could not accommodate them with this simple request. This was quite disappointing. Otherwise it was a nice morning.
We were visiting Shor with our kids for a nice dinner. We made reservations a day ahead and when we arrived were seated at a table in the kitchen area at a high top. The hostess explained that was all they had for us. I saw her seat everyother party in the dining room area, we were the ONLY people sitting in the kitchen area. We asked her for a kids menu, never brought. Our waiter was fine, just seemed a little over worked and we were the last ones to get help. He did bring the kids menu finally and would disapear for long amounts of time. We only had a few items from the shareables section of the menu. The grouper bites and calamari were very good, burrata salad not so good, little to no flavor. All in all this was a very disappointing night. We actually ended up elsewhere to have dessert which was so much better. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated like they are not outsiders.
The staff was very friendly. Food was good except for my husband's steak had a long blonde hair in it. Neither one of us have long hair, nor did our server. They did make him another one, but by the time he received it, I was almost done with my food. They did not charge us for his meal. The hair, was just kind of a turn off.
Our server Maria was extremely personable, a pleasure to deal with! Her recommendations were fantastic! We returned a few days later and ordered the same meals- lobster mac ‘n cheese and mushroom risotto. Maria suggested adding scallops to the risotto- delicious! Great experience!
Sorry to say I was disappointed about our New Years Eve dinner at SHOR. First of all I didn’t realize it was a buffet. I never read or saw anything about a buffet dinner. I am not a fan of buffets so I would of never made reservations if I knew prior to arriving . When I found out buffet only I thought to myself where can I go last minute if I had turned around. So I decided to give it a try . Never again ! Prime rib was ok, all the sides were terrible . Very heavy and a lot of carbs. Hardly any veggies . Disappointed at a place like the Hyatt for having something like this. The room was noisey and small . Getting up and down for food made it difficult with little space to move around . Very expensive too. $70 each for lousy food , then cocktails made it a $300 night and not so good.
We went here with a group for an early New Years Eve dinner. I didn’t realize when I made the reservation that it was a fixed price buffet. I think it was about 75 dollars a person and while it was a decent spread, I did not think it was that special. I would have preferred to order off the regular menu so I will be more careful in making my choices next year. If I remember correctly a 19% surcharge for service was added to the hefty bill for very little service.
I thought the buffet was overwhelmed by guests or walking by people who were depleting the unmanned areas like scavengers. Very unclassy and unmanaged. I did not get to try more than 1/4 of the unmanned tables. I felt like it was a waste of my money. The food I did get to try was delicious. Too bad.
We went for Christmas Brunch and sat at 2PM. The food was completely picked over and dried out. The table with fruit and cheese was a disaster. Cheese spread all over the table top, I wouldn't go near it. Mimosa's came with the brunch and I think the first one had alcohol, the next one didn't, it was thick like OJ by itself. The food tasted good, but was not worth more than $18 a person and it was $60 a person. Three of us with a tip was $240. Go somewhere else. Not worth it. We won't be back, ever.
Ate at Shor for Christmas buffet. Food good, crab claws good and not overcooked, rice was so-so, garlic mashed potatoes were good. Carved turkey and prime rib were good. Dessert had some good elements including the raspberry cheescake bite. Mimosas were good. Service was good and generally attentive. Will go back to try it again.
Our expectations were not met. On Christmas Eve we had dined at a buffet for half the price. The taste of their food and their dessert selection far exceeded yours. For 60 per head at your restaurant, we expected better taste and quality. The layout of the selections was hard to follow and the desserts were limited and picked over.
Great choice for Christmas buffet. Very attentive staff, very large and diverse selection of stations and, best of all, food was good. Good value, great service and the live entertainment was a nice touch. The restaurant has a nice view of the beach. Highly recommend.
They are renovating so we had to sit at a high top table. Not the atmosphere we were looking for--painters walking through during dinner service. Food was very good--enjoyed the calamari in particular. Ben was a great waiter--charming and most accommodating.
