Staff were all friendly, however the food was exceedingly underwhelming. Ordered what were presented as their flagship/award winning/etc items (whole fried fish and matcha seared tuna) - the proteins in the dishes were bland and the presentation was sloppy. The vegetable components lacked creativity and could not compensate for the disappointing lack of flavor in the fish. The spongy, microwaved pretzel bun should have been an early warning to flee, but I missed the queue. The cocktail I ordered was average, at best. I would not recommend paying over $60 for a starter, entree, and one drink when the quality is this severely lacking.
awful service , greeter dressed like like she just walked off the street , waiter unprofessional ,overpriced tasteless food. too bad because location is nice. never again, stay away
Fantastic food & wonderful service! Highly recommend sitting outside on the patio at sunset
Celebrating our anniversary. No mention from the staff. They had a crab boil special that evening and seemed annoyed we ordered off the menu. Rob our server checked on us only one time and noticed we needed more water. Well he never came back so I went to find him. He was watching TV at the bar. He brought us more water but he asked how was everything. How was everything? We were finished so that was a little late to be asking. We told him we wanted the check again long absence he dropped the check and kept walking we had to tell him to stop so we could give a credit card. Long absence again but we finally were able to leave. Worst experience ever.
Look this is pretty simple, even though it's in a hotel...it doesn't feel like it. It has it's own vibe and the vibe is spot on for a lovely evening and great food. Will be back and with more peopl in tow.
I enjoyed my food. The workers were very friendly and polite.
The chef's save the day. Food was amazing and the view is nice. The service is nonexistent. We waited for 37 minutes until the waitress took our order, she offered us a Glass of wine on the house but I would rather pay and have good service. The best part is I received a phone call confirming the reservation which I made through open table 2 minutes after booking. When I arrived I was told to wait until server was ready which took another 10 minutes but the restaurant was not even full, or even close to being full. I read a review while waiting, that person also complained about not being attended to after being seated. The food was amazing however, I feel bad for the chefs because they are not being helped by the servers. Had I not read a similar review i would have assumed we just caught them on a bad night, but the service seems to be an ongoing issue. If you are a very patient person this is the place to eat!
Miri (sp?) and Ben provided excellent customer service.
Wish I could give a higher score. I had been looking forward to eating here for some time. As they were super accommodating to my son's gluten allergy, the value just wasn't there. We spent just under $300 for a family of 4 dinner and it was OK. I would go back but only if I was invited by someone else who wanted to eat there.
Now the breakfast buffet and menu is totally worth it.
We were there to celebrate a family member’s birthday. The view is beautiful and the food was all excellent. The service was very poor and we had to ask multiple staff members, on several occasions, to have our server help us. Also, nothing was done for our family member’s birthday even though we had mentioned this when making our reservation and confirming it. If the service improves, would highly recommend this restaurant, but unfortunately, the service really ruined our experience.
We go to Shor about 3x a year or more, every time we stay at the Hyatt for a getaway.
The food, service and ambience is always great❣️❣️
If you are like me, due to a plethora of reasons (saltiness, freshness, done-ness, greasiness, cost, service,...), I prefer to eat in my resort / hotel room when possible. And, it has been a very long time since I have had a dining experience that was truly wonderful, and worth the risks; This place is! Delicious, perfectly balances meals, cooked to my requests, with a decadence, view, and service of royalty. On top of this, the prices were NOT over-the-top. Competitive? Yes. But, I would have been willing to pay more if I had know how fabulous this dining experience would be.
I highly recommend this restaurant (in the Hyatt Hotel), and plan on going back - frequently.
Our server, Maria, was outstanding! Very attentive! Made our entire experience exceptional! Awesome food!
The restaurant was beautiful. The staff was great, very accommodating and friendly. At first we did not like the sauce on the pork chop so we returned them and they made it the way we asked with no problem at all. The manager was so sweet. He bought us a drink and offered us dessert which we did no take al because we didn’t like the original meal. The food was excellent. Try the fried calamari ( they comped that also ) they went above and beyond. The best food we had while in Clearwater We will definitely come back on our next trip. Thank you
Food was fresh and service was quick and pleasant . Our meals were unbelievably good and fitting for the price. I highly recommend.
The food was really good and thought a good bang for your buck.
We went there to celebrate our anniversary. The environment was very loud and cafeteria style in the main dining room. They sat us at a table for 6 across from the kitchen so we could hear each other, and view the ocean. The waitress was very attentive but I felt like my husband was talking to her more than me. It's not a place to go to for romance. Food was good. The bar was nice and did give a great view of the ocean, and you could go out on the patio, so I would go back for that.
Our server was fabulous. Our cookie and ice cream dessert was yummy. That was it. My pasta was not al dente but gummy and hard and drowning in too much sauce. Our tomato tart was great. 180 ( including tip) for two was too much for what we got.
We ate at 8:30 pm surrounded by screaming, tired children. The ceilings are very high in this restaurant, so even moving a chair across the floor was like amplified nails on a chalkboard. They need ceiling pads for the noise level, as well as placing pads on the ends of their chairs/tables. I love children, but listening to them scream next to us was not pleasant through a romantically planned dinner. The staff needs more training to bring up the level of professionalism that Hyatt normally holds. The hostess should have sat that table with children far away from others if late at night. Our server looked exhausted and was hanging on our chair while taking our order. He also got part of our order wrong, and should have suggested not adding another unneeded sauce. This was a Friday night and the staff was also unprepared. The busboy hovered in a corner overlooking the dining room/in eye view, waiting for the next dish to empty, which was very distracting, even though it was not busy. The cooks were excellent, and food presentation, nice. Dessert Churros were incredible. I'm not sure I could recommend this restaurant yet, as it needs some polishing.
I had the day special of sea scallops with a risotto. The scallops were salty and the risotto was underdone and crunchy. My date ordered a NY strip medium-rare but it arrived solidly medium, so overdone. The service was competent and attentive but not very warm or friendly. The one saving grace was the gulf front view which was amazing. I would not eat there again, but I could see meeting there for a drink just to enjoy the view.
Food is amazing. They don’t give you giant portions like other restaurants. They give you the perfect amount. And the dessert is delicious.
Marie was great! Great service! Food was 2 out of 5.
Good food and service. And a beautiful spot for a sunset dinner on the outside patio.
Todo normal nada para destacar
Meh. Overall, the food was ok. Not worth the 4.5 star rating it has. It’s also expensive, so the dollar sign rating needs to be higher. The service was slow, even just getting a table (we had reservations of course, since this is OpenTable). The she-crab bisque was heavy and rich, but otherwise not very flavorful. My dinner was delivered after 2 bites of my soup, so that wasn’t great. Again, overall the meal was ok, but not up to the rating on the app.
We sat outside with a beautiful beach view and enjoyed our cocktails and delicious lunch! Plus the parking was free when they validated the ticket. Definitely will go there again!
The service was outstanding. The food met hotel food expectations. Good but not outstanding.
Rob was friendly efficient waiter. Met all of our needs. Every dish was superb. Overlooking Clearwater Beach. The SHOR is a treat to eat at
We really enjoyed Shor! Great views of the water and the food was excellent. We loved the buttermilk calamari, Black Grouper, the mixed grill and the domed chocolate dessert. Don’t let the hotel location dissuade you.
Our 4th of July dinner was a night to forget. The service was absolutely horrific and very disappointing. The waitress was forgetful, did not explain the presentation of the food when it arrived, spilling drinks, and seemed overwhelmed despite the restaurant not being that busy. One would expect the restaurant to have the same standards as Hyatt brand typical does but this restaurant dropped the ball on one of the major holidays of the year.
Only complaint- we sat by the windows for the view and it was sweltering hot!
The breakfast Cuban is by far my favorite thing on the menu! Make sure you order extra mustard sauce!
The whole snapper was excellent. They even pan seared it versus fried. Great wait staff. Wonderful gulf views!
Our waitress Maria was amazing! And the food was awesome!!!!
Excellent food, staff, drinks, & ambiance! Beautiful patio area too!
the food and service were great, but they
need to upgrade the aesthetics of dining rooms does not have look of a fine dining establishment
four kids were literally running around areas not very enjoyable when i am spending $150.00 for dinner
Had my birthday dinner here while on vacay in Clearwater. Calamari is a must have. Salmon and filet mignon was delish as well. Forget our waitresses name but she was awesome while only being there for two weeks. Beautifully decorated interior and great view of the sunset. Only negative is the noise the chairs make when they slide on the marble floor 🙉
Enjoyed the food...Lovely
Outside seating deff the way to go with good weather. Food and service was awesome!
Great food , great service !
