Described as an Asian bistro, Shokudo in Miami, FL is also a mixology bar that specializes in "comfort foods" from the Orient paired up with delicious cocktails and all served in a wonderful setting.
The menu at Shokudo is full of familiar favorites as well as surprising innovations. Sushi and sashimi appear, but there are also many kinds of handmade dumplings, a spicy octopus tiradito and a Manilan ceviche. Select from soups and salads such the laarb or the wakame salad, choose from a long list of noodles or rice, and be sure to enjoy something from the stunning list of wines, sake and cocktails that makes Shokudo so unique.
Our waiter made the best suggestions
Food was delicious. But as the night went on and more tables occupied, service and attention came to a crawl
Top notch! We ordered the entire Happy Hour menu. A perfect tasting of everything. Just right for a four top.
The food was great and the restaurant itself was very nice. The waiter was really friendly and pleasant. The only negative thing I experienced was upon my arrival, there was no host/hostess, but overall it was a good experience. I would definitely go back .
Excellent ceviche. Crab rice was somewhat bland. Lettuce wraps with ribs was very tasty. Love the ambiance, definitely nicer outside in back.
Everything we ordered was very good. We ordered 5 dishes for the two of us. My son ordered the Dragon roll, it was well prepared. The Ahi Tuna Poke was very flavorful with the Macadamia nuts. The most expensive dish we ordered was the crab fried rice ($20.00). I kept trying all night to taste the crab, but could not. That was the only issue. The fried rice was well prepared, just lacking the taste of the main ingredient. The menu had a large variety of dishes from many Asian countries. The beer was ice cold - how beer should be served. Would definitely go back, just won't order the Crab fried rice.
Hip music playing in the outdoor seating area, fung shui decor, unique and thoughtful food prep and presentation.
I was extremely disappointed with the service. I have been to Shokudo on numerous occasions and both the food and service have been excellent. Tonight was awful. Our server disappeared after the appetizers came out. Entrees came out fragmented and we had to remind her several guests had not been served. By the time their food came out the rest of us were done. We had to ask for water and drinks three times. We were there for three hours and their chairs are not made to sit that long. Ugh! So disappointed.
We love this place! We started with cocktails and made our way through the Appetizer / Crudo page of the menu for a delicious few hours. Highlights were the ceviche, ahi tuna poké, gyoza, steamed pork buns, and grilled octopus. Oh and that mixed fruit cobbler with the matcha green tea crumble...fantastic!! Make sure you save room for that! Our waiter was a delight, and all the other staff we met were friendly and professional. We will definitely want to dine here again the next time we are in Miami!
Every time we visit Miami it is a must. Best sushi in the area. Crispy tuna roll is amazing
Great food, authentic flavors and great ambiance.
Very good food, nice place.
The unusual and varied menu was a real treat. Service was exceptional and food SO DELICIOUS! Don’t miss the shaved ice for dessert-an authentic Phillipino delight. Will definitely be back ❤️
Checked this place out during Miami Art Week. We were not disappointed. Happy Hour menu is a must. Staff is gracious and welcoming. Neighborhood gem. Will definitely be back for the Shabu shabu.
Table of 8, food was great as always, crunchy tuna, tuna poke, rolls, dumpling, tartare, larb salad....
Miami doesn’t seem to be a goody town. This place is off the beaten path. Our waiter was professional and attentive. I tend to like sashimi and crudo, my ItAlian dinner companion not so much. We had a really good 15 year old
Pw folds Sirah priced at a few dollars less than Vivino. We had rolls. I had very good sashimi. Service was really attentive and engaged. I’d eat here again in a heartbeat
We stopped for a pre theater meal and were not disappointed. The grilled octopus and Korean beef ribs were exceptional. All of the sushi rolls as well as the tuna tataki were amazingly fresh. The happy hour menu was versatile and a great bargain.
Excelent Japanese fresh food. Great service. I will be back for sure
This was a great new find. Beautiful patio in the back and the service was great. The sushi was fresh and tasted great.
Excellent food at an excellent restaurant! Best in town for authentic Asian dishes from multiple Asian countries.
Authentic Asian food and flavors, prepared with the same high level of care as you would expect as if the chef and owner were inviting you to a special meal at their home. Always impresses and never disappoints! And, as frequent diners, we recommend trying as many different plates as possible, and return often!!!
Had a lovely meal here whilst visiting the design district. The beef roll in particular was delicious!
Definitively a big positive surprise. High quality and really fresh ingredients used. The Sushi and Sashimi combination was superb. For the appetizer try the Fois gras Dumpling and the Chashu Pork Bun...excellent. Super friendly and attentive service. Finally, the Clobber is definitively a must...
Excellent food and service from Zee. We already made reservations to return for Shabu Shabu. Happy to have Shokudo in our neighborhood.
This restaurant was great. They had plenty of choices and the Beef Buns were excellent. Sushi was good and service by Z was great!
Quiet evening, staff was very attentive even as we took our time to talk and order, spent 3 hours at dinner. Food was excellent
I made a reservation at 10 45!
I arrived 10 min before and they were already cleaning the kitchen because they wanted to close the restaurant!
The owner too was in rush!!!
What???!! Thanks God the waiter was good... food is average. We won't go back.
Excelet place, friendly, modern, warm and delicious food
Too hot inside. The food was not hot. It was just average but it's in my neighborhood I wanted to try it. I might give it another shot.
A wonderful experience. It was a hidden gem and great service.
Food and Service excellent!
But everything turn into a bad experience when the people of the table next to us started smoking. The restaurant didn't want to help, and said they wasn't t able to ask them to stop smoking. At the end we end our food as soon as we could and we left.
This place has it all!! Ambiance, service, quality, freshness and quietness.
Buen servicio y calidad variada de rolls. Valle ok.
Fantastic fantastic all the way... great pricing fab menu
We had a good time having shabu shabu.
Shokudo is one of the more authentic Asian-inspired restaurants in Miami. Their Korean dishes, in particular, are excellent.
Unbelievable cuisine that elegantly brings together various specialty dishes that are well known within various Asian countries that maintains their traditional and authentic flavors, while offering a contemporary twist. This restaurants is a perfect fit for those looking for traditional Asian cuisine and for those looking for a fusion and creative spin. Cocktail were amazing and the staff was unbelievable. Koodos to the bartender as he new his stuff, both cocktail wise and the details of the menu. Definitely a go to spot on my visits.
Great sushi...very good attention ...great ambience
As usual, the food is excellent and the service is good. Happy to go back soon !
They do not use open table anymore for reservations
