This was our second time. Still love the place, but , unfortunately, the taste and tenderness of the ribeye went way downhill. My husband did seafood and loved it, both times. My steak was a huge disappointment. Staff is awesome.
Service was very slow and almost like they were avoiding us. It wasn’t very crowded either

We did not have a great experience. Our food was not hot, wrong order, and slow service. It was not to the JW satandards.
This is my second visit to this restaurant, and there will not be a third unless they change their style somewhat. First, both times their soup is served cold, maybe tepid. But in any case, the soup is very weak. The salad was good. Teppenyaki table restaurants live and die by the chefs, and some of them are good at this place and my last one was terrible. he was bored and boring! Also, and my biggest problem, is they give you three sauces to dip in. I like mustard, and my wife likes ginger. The mustard was almost entirely mayonnaise, and not fresh, almost pukingly unsavory. The ginger had no flavor, and the third sauce was a watered down A1. The fried rice, which is included in the meal was barely passable. (The chef used four eggs for eight people, putting the other eggs away.) The chicken that was put on the grill was formed chicken from some purveyor and looked as dry as it tasted. My wife's scallops were somewhat better. But overall, for the price, better to go elsewhere.......anywhere! For a Marriott restaurant to be this sloppy is surprising. Just a week earlier I had eaten at Lillies at the Golden Nugget, and it was far, far superior. Please change your sauces, and train your chefs, and maybe, just maybe I will return.

The restaurant was busy but not in-the-weeds busy. We waited a long time at the grill table for a chef to show up. Waited a long time for drinks while we were waiting for the chef. Food was good enough, but nothing to rave about.

For the price of the food (expensive) and being in JW Marriott one would expect better ambiance and more up-to-date furniture and decor. Looks rundown in the dining room. Service is not attentive. Had to ask for more water and the food was sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up by the waitress.
We went to Shizen for New Years Eve and the last time we were there they screwed up my order
I had ordered Lobster and Shrimp and the waiter did not put down the Lobster so the chief was
passing out the Lobster and he did not give me one and he said it was not on the order and he would cook another one but would of been done with all of my food so I said no. So on New Years Eve we go back and the same thing happens so what are the odds of that. Same ordered Lobster and Shrimp and again just got Shrimp and they said the same thing we will cook another Lobster and again we were almost done with our meal. Not one person said Sorry . We have been here many many times and not in a hurry go back. Service is very poor or they
just don't want me to have Lobster I guess.
Bad food doesn’t taste good salty not worth the money
My husband, 2 adult children, and 3 year old granddaughter and myself went to celebrate my birthdays. We did the Teppanyaki and our cook was GREAT.. Everyone had a great time and food was Delicious.. Definitely will be going back and would recommend to anyone.

DISAPPOINTING! Have eaten there many times over the years and now they changed the menu -- eliminated lots of items, soup & salad which used to come with entrees are now a la carte!
Ordered a fairly pricey dish and it was disappointing -- bland and the meat was not up to its price.
PLUS -- hostess did not enter my Open Table reservation (I told her twice) which generated an email from you. Guessing it's straightened out now that I received this request for a review.

We have been here many times but this time had a new waitress and she got my order wrong
and just did not give us good service also had to chase her down just to get water and take our
salad bowls. Never said sorry about you not getting the food you ordered.
My wife and I had dined here over a decade ago and remembered a wonderful experience--my, how things have changed! The ambiance was nonexistent--just a bunch of tables crowded together in a cafeteria-like space with some Japanese decorations on the wall. I've had better service in military mess halls, and trust me--that's saying something. They had nothing special for kids to eat or drink; the server wouldn't provide a glass of fruit juice even though their mixed drinks used orange, pineapple, etc. At a kid-friendly resort, that's both a serious oversight on the part of the menu planner, and an egregious lack of service attitude from the staff. There were no desserts other than three flavors of mochi ice cream; even the menu advertised a "chef's special dessert", but the server told us with a shrug that all they had was ice cream. In short, this was the most disappointing meal I had in Vegas, and one of the most disappointing at any Marriott property in the world.

Love this place. You can go for a special occasion or just drop in for dinner. Service is always fabulous, as is the food.
The overall experience was good, food was above average and cook was excellent. The waiter was slow ans not attentative. Asked several times for sweetner and never refilled the drinks until we asked him several times.
Great atmosphere with the outside seating and scenery..
We ordered right when we arrived and some of the apps we ordered showed up after almost a half hour but were cold. After nearly an hour of waiting our first order showed up because they lost the ticket and our server was so aloof she didn't bother to think that order sitting there waiting might have been ours. Then my husband finally said something to the manager and she offered us 20% off. The problem is a 2 year old can only wait around so long before you miss your window. When we finally got his sushi he was in no state of mind to continue sitting at our table. So when I asked if we could take the small California roll with us they said that we wouldn't get our discount for their terrible service and completely forgetting us. So while my husband took my son to bed because it was so late at that time I sat there at miserably ate the final roll so they wouldn't charge us for it. Worst service, cold apps that were supposed to be warm and refusal to help us out when they ruined our sons evening. We'll never go back. Likely it has affected our overall opinion of this expensive resort and we won't be back
My family & I are always eating here! Most of the employees there are great & the food is fantastic! My kids favorite sushi place is this!! The service is usually fast even in a busy day! Will recommend this place & will be coming back again
Have been to LV many times and can't believe I missed this restaurant. The hostess that seared us was wonderful and our waitress was always right at ou table. The sushi was excellent and the chicken/Shrim yakisoba was very tasty and generous portions. Definetly will be back next trip to LV.
Average Japanese food, good service. Some tables are too close, had to listen to a very negative conversation from the next table throughout the entire dinner...
We have never had a bad meal at Shizen. The prices are fair. The Sushi and sashim are fresh are tasty! The teppan cooking is always perfectly done. But, if there is a problem, the cook starts over and offers a new meat dish
