Great food and especially great service. Looking forward to getting back.
The food was great. We arrived on time for the reservation and were told it would be a 10 minute wait. We went to the bar and after 20 minutes still couldn’t get the bar tenders attention. After a very aggressive request, we received drinks 30 minutes after seating. We received a text at the same time that the table was ready so we left our seats only to be told that ‘we just gave it to someone else’ so now had lost bar seats and were standing At the front door with drinks. My wife was offered a glass of wine as an accommodation. After being seated and ordering, the waiter returned to tell me they were out of the scallop appetizer so no problem I changed my order. However, when served my wife’s dish (supposed to be steak and scallops) was only steak and we were told by the server ‘your waiter told you we were out of scallops’ - which was not our understanding. Inattentive service overall. The saving grace - the filet and ribeye err excellent!
Food/Service was excellent unfortunately they ran out of some of what we ordered. The manager was apologetic gave us 1/2 off our meal which should have really been more off the meal as it was a special occasion and the absence of the foods we wanted was disappointing. Steaks are awesome by the way.
We didn't realize how LOUD it was, very loud.
We would go back but we would call ahead to see if they had all the meals listed on the menu.
It took our server 30 minutes to read us the specials and another 10 minutes after that to even take our order. My husbands food finally came out and his soba noodles were horribly undercooked and the piece of tuna he was given was nearly inedible. We asked for the check and left without finishing dinner. The check was wrong and included drinks that were never delivered. All in all a terrible experience and we will not be returning. We will stick to ShipWreck Grill which seems to have an enormously better handle on service.
Went to dinner here on Saturday, June 9th. Made a reservation and were seated right away. First impression - the place is LOUD! You could barely hear the person sitting across from you. The waiter had to lean in to hear you talk. No kidding. We ordered our drinks and they were great. I had the onion soup and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Boston Bib Salad and 5 minutes after she ordered it the waiter came back and said they were all out of that sald. She ordered one of the special salads instead. We decided to split a 20oz cowboy ribeye and ordered a twiced baked potato and some grilled asparagus. ten minutes later the waiter came back and told us they were all out of 20oz ribeyes. Really? you ran out of that steak on a Saturday night? We wanted steak but the other prices were pretty high for a piece of meat 16oz and less. We had to order the 38oz porterhouse for two which the manager knocked $20 off to bring the price down $90. We ordered it done medium and for the most part it was ok but there were some pretty rare parts that were pretty uncooked. We also waited almost ten minutes for our grilled asparagus to come out AFTER we were served our meal. So the night cost me almost $50 more than it should have (total bill was over $200) for a decent steak dinner. I should have gone to Ruth Criss.
The dining room is pretty but the acoustics are bad. It was so noisy that I found myself leaning across the table the whole night trying to talk to my husband. We had a gift card for $100 and it still cost us $120. The food was good but not worth $200 at all. We only had 2 glasses of wine - so that wasn’t the issue. I will most likely not be returning between the noise and it being overpriced.
Our waiter was nice and everyone was friendly.
The noise level is LOUD - and it didn't help that someone at the table next to us had a loud, shrieking voice that sent shivers up my spine. Not sure how she even ate because she talked incessantly. Food - spinach was over salted, grits were congealed. Salmon was cooked nicely. Never did get our pop-overs. I do not recommend unless you don't care about noise and aren't too particular about your food.
We had great service from Sal. The food was good. The location is pretty (next to inlet).
Nice upscale restaurant with great specials!
Staff was friendly and professional food was very good! Would highly recommend!
Food was good but the menu board was bigger than our table.
Service was top notch.
We booked a reservation for six to celebrate my son’s birthday and I hate to say that we were extremely disappointed with the service, food and overall experience.
First and foremost, if a restaurant is charging NYC pricing I would expect the caliber of service to be on par as well. Our waitress was inexperienced and should not have been waiting on a table of six on her own on a Saturday night. I fault management here and not the server because she was clearly overwhelmed! Not only did we wait over a half hour to find out the restaurant was out of sparkling water we were offered and the wine we had chosen, but drink orders were also not delivered and all of our steaks were served cold.... my son’s steak was in fact not edible and needed to be sent back. Furthermore, a manager was not available to speak to. While we have had great experiences here in the past, I am sad to say.... this was unacceptable and I don’t know that we’ll be back.
I do hope that they pull it together and resolve the issues at hand because we really enjoyed previous dining experiences here.
We had a lovely dinner with our kids.
Beautiful place. Valet parking. Delicious food. Best steak ever.
This particular Saturday the restaurant was very noisy, crowded and service was slow. Pasta dish had no flavor. Scallops were delicious as was the salmon ( not blackned on my request)
A little noisy in the main dining area but great food and service!
Perfect neighborhood steakhouse. I little pricey. Food is awesome!
Have been here several times, but just went on mother's day. Was greeted so friendly the waitress was so unbelievably kind to my 2 children...went out of her way to accommodate our 4 year old. The host was also very friendly and frequently visited our table. Food as always was delicious. Just a great place to go to.
Set/smaller menu on Mother's Day was tasty but a bit overpriced. Crabcakes were yummy, chicken pasta was bland. Service was good.
Porterhouse was a bit tough.
Service could be better.
Although we had reservations we did not get seated until a half an hour later than the reservation time, so we sat the bar everyone was wonderful serving us -couldn't be better. We did ask for some bread with our appetizers, and was told there was no bread. Interesting. But the popovers were wonderful. when we finally got seated the service was excellent... the food was excellent, there was no bread but there were popovers! The menu is a bit pricey but would go there again!
We had a beautiful Mother's Day Dinner on Saturday. Our server was attentive and compassionate to the fact that we were dining with two small babies. Everything was delicious.
Excellent food and attentive service sitting at the bar is always a great option as well.
I have been going to this restaurant for about 5 years off and on.. the food quality and service has declined significantly over this period while the prices have gone up..
This time I had an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night..by the time we ordered they were out of 4 main courses and well as the bottle of wine I ordered...The service is mediocre because the restaurant is woefully understaffed and servers are running around in circles dealing with too many tables-
Meanwhile after settling for what main courses they had and a second choice on wine the bill was still over. $400 for 4 people..
Regretfully we will be looking for alternatives for future dining
We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our dinner to come. Every table around us, many which were seated AFTER us, got their food before us. Some of them were completely finished with their dinners by the time our food came out. Not sure if the server forgot to drop our order, or whether because he knew we were the parents of one of the employees he felt he didn't need to give us the same attention the rest of his customers received. One bad experience would prevent me from returning.
Another excellent evening at Shipwreck with great food and drinks, waterfront views and good company. The owners Rich and Terri couldn't be more friendly and accommodating.
I find this place to be a true neighborhood gem and my favorite in the beach area.
Ordered filet mignon cooked to perfection
They need to update their website (Wednesday is NOT 1/2 price wine)
There were menu items not available and we had a vegetarian in the group who had a salad & roll.
We first discovered Shipwreck Point about a year ago and it quickly became one of our favorite spots to dine. Whether it is just me and my wife grabbing a seat at the bar or we are dining with friends, a business meal, or a special occasion, Shipwreck Point never disappoints. From the moment we park our car (free valet) to the moment we leave we are greeted with friendly Hostesses, Waitstaff, Bartenders, and the Owners themselves. I highly recommend Shipwreck Point.
Service and Food were both outstanding!
It was our first time there and our 12th Anniversary. The service was excellent and the food very good. Little issue extremely load people around us but the place itself was great. Highly recommend it. And we will be back.
I've been here before and had great food and service. Our waiter in training was great. He did a stellar job. However, the person training him and the people clearingv the tables.. Ugh. Twice they tried to take my drink before I finished it. The second time the server brought it back. I told her I want drinkingv it now. I'm eating my meal and someone else comes over and asks me if I'm done. I just looked at them while I chewed since there was still a lot of good on my plate. I felt like I was being rushed. No one was waiting for a table. We ordered from the restaurant week menu but spent over $200 with extra appetizer and drinks. I still tipped 20% because the actual waiter in training was great. My advice don't go during restaurant week.
I had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was great. Staff was friendly.
Our first visit to Shipwreck Pount- beautiful setting and view. Cozy atmosphere, steak was great, appetizer was innovative and tasty. Would go back.
Freddie provided great service and food was excellent.
Service, food were all great.. noise level was way over the top.. dined there on a Saturday evening. 2 large parties in main dining room made it virtually impossible to have any conversation.
We were charged for a tuna tartare that we never received and the restaurant was way too loud
The taste of the bread was sweet and not to our liking. The lobster bisque was brown and clear and very unusual although it did have large chunks of lobster. It was bitter in taste. The seating was awkward and tight. Our steaks were extremely undercooked. For the price this restaurant was very disappointing.
Great dinner. Great cocktails. Our server Corey was excellent!
Very good experience
Food and service was very good
Crowded which is a good thing
Sangria just ok
