Freddie provided great service and food was excellent.
Service, food were all great.. noise level was way over the top.. dined there on a Saturday evening. 2 large parties in main dining room made it virtually impossible to have any conversation.
The taste of the bread was sweet and not to our liking. The lobster bisque was brown and clear and very unusual although it did have large chunks of lobster. It was bitter in taste. The seating was awkward and tight. Our steaks were extremely undercooked. For the price this restaurant was very disappointing.
Great dinner. Great cocktails. Our server Corey was excellent!
Very good experience
Food and service was very good
Crowded which is a good thing
Sangria just ok
Great food. Good service but felt slightly rushed.
Food was excellent!
The staff was great!
Easter Sunday...service was slow. 25 minutes at table before drinks were served. 35 minutes before order was taken...no apologies were offered, server acted like this is just the way it is.
Our meal came out in a reasonable time and was delicious. Server was polite but made no effort to 'connect,' she was obviously in the weeds. Another server, as well as the bartender helped her out. It happens. Overall, it was worth it. We have been there many times before (service always slow at start), and we will be back again.
Food was delicious apps steak and dessert were great...
Not impressed with my seafood selection that I ate. The tables are too close together. The kitchen was slow with the sides. Too over priced for a meal that does not taste fresh!
We tried Shipwreck Point based on its ranking as one of the best steakhouses in Monmouth/Ocean County. In addition, the reviews were very good. Unfortunately, my family of 6 were disappointed. The meal didn't live up to the hype. 4 of us had steak and 3 of steaks were overcooked. Needed a medium rare, a medium, and a Pittsburg medium rare. The fourth was well done so they couldn't screw that up. I had the Pittsburg and I had to send it back to which I don't do very often. It came out medium well and not charred on the outside. The second one was better but still not close to Pittsburg medium rare. Also, the size / cut of the steaks were on the "thin" side. Looked more like a "home" steak. My problem with all of this is when you pay $50 for a steak it should be darn near perfect. I've had plenty of better steaks at places that shouldn't have come close to this one. The flavor was fine. The sides were good especially the twiced baked potato and the mac and cheese. Caesar salad was two stalks of romaine and not much dressing...very disappointed. Service was good and it's a nice looking place...not incredible but a comfortable, basic, new looking restaurant. PS no kids menu. Don't mind paying the price but have to deliver on food quality and how it is prepared. The manager was apologetic and took 10 or 15% off the steak that was sent back without us asking for a discount. It was a nice gesture and he admitted (without asking) that even the 2nd steak didn't hit the mark. By that time I was playing catch-up with the rest of my group and wasn't going to send it back a second time.
This is my second time to Shipwreck Point. The food is excellent. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional. I will be back many times.
The food here was incredible and ordered to our liking. Service was great and quick as well. We will definitely be coming back.
Great service great food great time!
My wife and I had a date night and chose Shipwreck Point from Open table. The service was excellent, our server was very personable and attentive the food was delicious and good portions. It was a little pricy but this is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. We will be back!!
This was our second time going for the Restaurant Week choices; excellent selection, excellent quality.
Excellent all the way service, food, ambiance .I would recommend for a pleasurable dining experience the staff was magnificent restaurant on the water.
We had a great meal as usual. The service was outstanding. It's a bit pricey for the Jersey Shore and I don't mind spending. However, the menu prices are comparable to NYC Steakhouse prices and its not a NYC steak being served. All in all, we really had a nice evening.
Great date night spot. Food and service was great.
Our evening started off well w/complimentary valet and a lovely&kind hostess waiting to take our coats and seat us. She offered us water&was extremely hospitable.
Next we met our waitress Alexis. This is where I got a little nervous about where the night would go. She made a noise&said, “sorry, I burped.” Not for nothing, we are all human - but she could have easily said she had hiccups or just made no comment at all. And to be fair, Alexis was an okay server - but not nearly up to the caliber of her peers as I surveyed the room throughout the night.
At some point every server, hostess, bus person&manager checked on our table, cleared a plate or filled our drinks. I’ve never witnessed such team work from a staff. I watched the hostess who greeted us go outside to help the valet as the snow began to fall w/moving cars, come back inside to seat tables, fill drinks&take photos for patrons. I watched the other hostess change and set multiple tables. I witnessed the kitchen staff go outside to help the valet shovel snow. The manager serving food, filling drinks&helping his team. It was honestly some of the best service I’ve seen in a restaurant. If not for Alexis’ initial unprofessionalism this place would’ve gotten 5 stars&then some for service! I had to have my boyfriend work w/the manager to figure out how we could get cash to tip out all of the help (no atm there which is kind of a bummer but the manager had no problem ringing out a tip on the register and giving us cash, which was very nice and helpful).
The food was overall very excellent. Save the pop ups or whatever the name is they use for the bread offering (which resembled a crescent roll but was tasteless&dry, the butter also tasted as though it sat out). But if that’s my only food complaint I’m not doing too badly.
The filet was perfect, the soups&salads were delicious, the sides&apps were perfect! The apple crisp was delicious but definitely not crispy. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
Everything from the staff to the food was very good.
My girlfriend and I decided to come here for Valentine’s Day, although this isn’t our first time here, the experience is always top-notch. Great location, atmosphere and he most important; the food, was perfect, the staff was friendly and respectful and made for a great dining experience! Definitely will recommend to friends and family! See you soon!
Shipwrecked is a terrific restaurant that I have eaten at often when I am down at the Shore. The food is predictably good, and the wait staff warm and friendly. The noise level is high so corner seating is desirable. Fun dinner location for a date and delicious food. A definite recommendation!
It was a pre-valentines dinner. We have been there before and love the food. If you don’t have a reservation be prepare to wait. It’s worth it. It’s not a place to go on a first date because the crowd is loud and it’s hard to have a conversation. The service is friendly and very attentive.
Was celebrating a good friends great news from her doctors being 5 years cancer free. Corey set us up with a great table a complementary champagne toast and a special desert. Great Evening
Great dining experience. Food was excellent from the appetizers to the main course. Staff was friendly, professional and accommodating. Nice ambience and location. The owners were present and introduced themselves to various dining patrons inquiring about their dining experience and thanking you for coming. Definitely would recommend this restaurant!
Enjoyed our dinner. Everything was delicious from our appetizer to desert. Worth visiting 👍
Great spot. Steaks are cooked well and very flavorful. Love the desserts. The molten chocolate cake yummy and enough for two. Try the soups too. Very good We’ll be back
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there Saturday night. Steaks were beautifully cooked and we appreciated the comprehensive wine list and menu offerings. Service was superb, food well cooked and a pleasant and lively atmosphere.
Solid restaurant great ambiance excellent food attentive not intrusive staff
This place never lets me down and has become my favorite place in the area by far. The staff and owner couldn't be more friendly and the view is a rare one for the area as the commercial fishing fleet heads out in the dark.....which is fun to watch as they cruise by the restaurant.
I enjoy bringing clients as well as family and friends here and go as often as possible.
In addition to terrific steaks, fish and other dishes, the wine list is excellent and the manager Corey knows his stuff and is always happy to assist with selection.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Really enjoyed our dinner here during Shipwreck week. Great food, great service, and a great menu. Nice view of the Manasquan inlet and good music too. Some menu options can be a bit pricey but well worth it for the quality and the atmosphere.
Always high quality meals and service on the inlet at the Jersey shore.
We hadn't been to the Shipwreck for quite some time. They were offering a fixed price meal for $33. It was fantastic. My husband and I had the filet mignon. One of the best I've ever had. We'd go back even at the regular prices.
Took advantage of the Shipwrecked Point Week special.
Great restaurant. Food was fabulous and staff was very pleasant and attentive. Prix file menu was tasty and reasonable. Been here many times and will return.
This could be a very good spot. The food is good, the service was fie, but it’s way too expensive. Dinner for two with the tip was $240.00. I am not a cheap person by any means and I’ve been to many many restaurants and this needs to be less expensive. Even the drinks were high.
New Year’s Eve: limited menu, food seemed to be prepared in advance and re-heated - dried out and over cooked. Other experiences were much better
Staff and food were amazing. Huge portions for the price and food was absolutely delicious. Would recommend the truffle Mac and cheese, filet mignon, and tuna.
