The finest on ACK!!
A Nantucket classic. Always fantastic, from the service through the final course. In my opinion the best restaurant on NANTUCKET.
The Ships Inn is in an historic building in Nantucket. The building also is home of a working inn which is in the house above the restaurant. The welcome is warm and professional. Our servers were friendly and professional. To start we had a cauliflower and cheddar soup and a ceasar salad. Both were very good. For a main course, we had the roast loin of pork which was more of a braised loin shredded and very tender. The vegetables accompanying it were delicious. For dessert we had a chocolate souffle for me and a Grand Marnier souffle for my husband. overall the food was very well prepared. Proportions were quite generous and nicely plated. It was a very nice evening overall at The Ships Inn
Always an amazing meal. Favorite restaurant on Nantucket.
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Cozy, warm, friendly service and always an excellent meal. Don’t pass on the dessert soufflé
Celebrating with my husband on vacation
Enjoyed Ships Inn. The quaint Nantucket Inn feel was perfect. Our bartender was fun and offered new and unique drink options. The menu is limited, but both our entrees were delicious. I loved the cauliflower soup and halibut. Everything was fresh and hot. I recommend this restaurant for a romantic night out.
Just did not find the value here.
Cozy little place, perhaps a little too much packed in. We had terrible table. Nice artwork throughout the small space.
Food better than acceptable. Main service friendly but felt rushed out as they needed our table to expand another party's table.
A fabulous setting, excellent food and no request seems too difficult. Always a favorite.
Our most recent visit was wonderful as always. Excellent food and service, fine wine selection at reasonable prices, and a quiet historic dining room. This is at the very top of restaurants on Nantucket year in and year out. Highly recommend
Our meal was about as close to perfect as one can get. The food was fabulous, the service was friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the environment was cozy and comfortable.
We had a great dinner - celebrating our anniversary. We were greeted immediately and we had great service during our whole meal. Service was spot on - exactly the right amount of attention. Food was great too! We loved our meal.
We've been coming to Ships Inn regularly for years. The food and atmosphere are always wonderful. Unfortunately this year, our waiter did not check back with us after either the appetizer or entrée was served. Must have been an off night for him, as we've always had attentive service.
The food is just "good" and nothing special. However, the service and atmosphere made it worth having dinner there. We had a wonderful family dinner there.
Excellent meal, although it was hot in the dining room.
We trusted the Ships Inn to help us celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint! We had visited the restaurant before and knew we were in for a good treat - Great spot, great food, very nice people. Couldn't have asked for a nicer or better evening. Highly recommend it!
Food, service and beauty are always great. Table of four unruly children certainly detracted from our experience!
Delicious food and gluten free dinners available! We come every time we are on Nantucket.
The food is always delicious here and the staff is so friendly. I would go back again and again.
Always a good meal. Dining room was pretty hot and muggy with one wall mounted fan.
One of our fav places
Love this place. My meal wasn't as great as it usually is but everyone else at the table loved theirs. Second time this summer. My first meal was excellent.
As usual the service at the Ships Inn was superb. From the time you arrive and are greeted until the time you leave the quality of service beats any on Nantucket. Food was excellent as always. Our favorite on Nantucket.
Excellent food, professional kind service staff. A high end restaurant- best among the best!
Best food on the island! The soufflés are a must!!! A lovely setting - feels like true Nantucket.
Thank you for making our 38th anniversary so lovely. Ships Inn dining is always a great experience. Peter , our server, was wonderful as was the food served. Thank you again.
Fabulous food and wonderful staff
We had a delicious meal at the Ships Inn. The Caesar salad was excellent as was the scallops appetizer. The halibut received rave reviews from my son and I enjoyed the Roquefort crusted fillet. We topped off the meal with the chocolate soufflé and a side of vanilla ice cream. The meal was perfect and clearly the best dining experience we had on Nantucket this week.
Good food, but very traditional setting.
Fabulous food and impeccable service - highly recommend
Wonderful experience. A delightful restaurant...best service ever. Great food in a classy atmosphere.
We come every year when visiting Nantucket and it never disappoints.
We had a great dinner at the Ships Inn. Great food, great service and great atmosphere.
Lovely dining experience. Beautiful, historical restaurant. Service was excellent. And honestly, the food was not outrageously priced. Highly recommend. A+++
The food and appetizers were great. One of the best dirty martini's I've ever had. The atmosphere was wonderful.
While the food was generally excellent, I found the calamari to be bland as well as the sauce. The prawns were excellent as was the halibut and swordfish per my friends. Our waitress, Melissa, was excellent in suggesting wines and in anticipating all of our needs. Comfortable lovely surroundings. We hadn't dined here in a few years but our friends are insisting that we return again next year.
This is my overall favorite Nantucket restaurant: the food is creative and consistently excellent, the pricing is very fair for Nantucket, the servers are always really sweet and you can tell people are happy to work here, the atmosphere of the old house is enchanting, and they hit a fabulous balance on the choice and pricing of their wines and cocktails which always combines to make me delighted to try new things.
This place is a treasure!
A little bit stuffy. Might be fun with a big group, but was rather boring and low in energy for two people. Food was great thougg
