Love the saki flights
The sushi is always fresh and the bento sets are good value. Quality is high. Service is just the right level of attentive.
Amazingly fresh food, beautifully presented! Our waitress was a sweetheart and explained everything:) I strongly recommend the Sake flight👍🏻🍣
Excellent location with minimalist decor. Come here for the sushi not for the ambiance. Very quick and tasty sushi offerings, perfect for a quick lunch time bite of deliciousness. Their prices don't make it an "every day" type of place, but good for the occasional splurge.
The food was good, sushi fresh, and the sake sampler is an awesome deal! Highly recommended.
Very interesting spacious restaurant. Great service - paying attention to details. Delicious food, fresh ingredients! Authentic dishes. We had liver, peppers, calamari, fish, savory eel pizza on rice crispy crust - dessert and yes, sake! They have a special sale tasting. Great place!
It’s a decent lunch spot.
Food very good attention, very serious as good Japanese. What I did not seem to hurry you to eat, because they want to close and you are saying that you can not serve anymore more drinks over and over and neither the dessert, should say what is really the schedule, because reserved at 21.30 .
Very courteous service and excellent food!
The service was poor and food in my dessert. It was our first time in a Japanese restaurant. The server couldn’t explain the dishes to us properly.
Dependable lunch spot.
Super quick service, great food - selection was fantastic - and the fish was VERY fresh. Great ambience and modern decor.
Went for lunch. Good food. EXTREMELY LOUD - acoustics increase the noise level. Would not recommend if you want to have an important conversation.
First rate and varied Japanese cuisine in a handsome setting. Service was attentive and discreet. A wonderful choice for midtown lunch.
A little fish bowl-like especially if they seat you near the front of the restaurant due to the glass front windows. The ambiance was a bit cold but the biggest challenge was getting any waiter’s attention through the dinner. The woman at the front desk who was maybe 8 feet from our table was of no help. It was almost as if she had been taught not to make eye contact whatsoever with any diner. The food was good though. I’d give it a B+. The service and decor C-
The place is brightly lit. Tables are not close together and there was no music. Comfortable seats. Excellent place for a business meeting or a meal where you really want to talk. Food was quite good. Shabu shabu was excellent as was the house sake. I'd definitely return.
This Japanese restaurant has been in business for many years, and after dinner last week I can see why. The dishes we ordered were very good (especially the eggplant with miso and the fried shrimp dumplings from the list of chef's best) and the sushi and rolls were of very good quality. They have a great sake collection - a nice sampling of three for $10.00. The service was excellent and the restaurant is QUIET even though it was nearly filled. Prices were very reasonable. Comfortable seating. I will definitely go back.
Great food and location.
Overall very nice waitstaff and quality Japanese. Probably better off trying the Sukiyake and traditional Japanese cooked dishes as the sushi was good, however not for the modern advanced palette. Wish there were more creative rolls. Gyoza isn’t on the menu but if you ask, they have it. Hear that it’s better for lunch than dinner, very quiet on a Friday night for dinner. Too quiet.
Casually styled place that offers authentic, good quality Japanese food and drinks. This is the place to take out friends for an evening of feel-good food and beer; however, might not recommend it for a romantic date or celebratory event (anniversaries etc.). The service is friendly and not intrusive. To conclude: a very nice place for some casual but good quality dining.
Best Japanese food in the area. Been going there for many years and no place is as good.
Shinbashi is great! Attentive staff, great food, and amazing sushi combo options
Shinbashi is the best - order the sushi pizza.
Food was just so-so, service was ok but quality and restaurant is passed it's hey day.
The wait staff at Shinbashi was friendly and attentive. The food was OK, but I don't know if I'd dine here again. For the price, I was expecting a bit more in terms of taste. I ordered the salmon, which I usually order at these types of restaurants, and was not too impressed. I also awkwardly had to pick the bones out. The dessert menu was extensive, but somehow still disappointing.
Todo un clásico en comida japonesa en NYC. El Shabu.shabu espectacular y en general toda la comida. Carta de vinos muy reducida aunque con varias opciones de Sake.
美味しでした！. Everything was great - service and food was exceptional. Very authentic Japanese.
Very limited choice of Sashimi and only in sets. Customers should be able to order specific dishes. Quality average but prices high.
It was wonderful dinner.
Real taste of Japanese and quality of service.
Good Japanese restaurant
Lunch time service felt a bit rushed. Sashimi pieces in the Chirashi were quite small, but overall the dish was very good.
Superlative dining experience. Very attentive and accommodating staff. Excellent!
Ordered Sushi Shinbashi - I have had much better sushi toppings for the similar price range in the city at multiple Japanese restaurants. It was first time to visit Shinbashi but I’m disappointed.
Excellent fresh food. Large space. Not rushed. Great service.
We had the chef’s special sashimi and while the fish was delicious the size of the sashimi was extremely small, barely bite size (I am not kidding). Also, the noise level was crazy loud. On a positive note, the service was very good.
Really a poor experience all round in terms of options or customer service and hospitality. Everything was meh. I brought a business guest and was embarrassed by the experience.
Good tasty Japanese food. We enjoyed the roll special and endless cups of tea.
Excellent sushi and teriyaki. Innovative menu. Very friendly staff.
I have been going to Shinbashi for about 5 years. Never disappointed. However I will say one negative thing. I ordered the shinbashi bento box because it has beef negamaki. The disappointment is there were only two pieces of negamaki and chicken on a stick I think 3 pcs. I ordered the bento box because I wanted the negamaki not chicken. It doesn't say anything on the menu about chicken in this box. Next time I will mention it before placing the order.
