SHI Ratings and Reviews
We used to love this place very much. The food is good, the service is great. However, the portions shrank and I believe the prices went up... but the service stayed great- the servers are very attentive and extremely nice! Let’s keep this will stay the same. It’s a great neighborhood place for fusion food.
My boyfriend and I had a night out without our kids and we decided to have dinner here. We enjoyed every minute of it. The music was great, I was the designated driver so I only had a glass of wine, him on the other hand had several cocktails and he stated they were strong and f#$@ing good Lollllllll . I had a flight to catch the next morning and we were seated and served in a timely manner, that was definitely a plus
Everything was great except for my waiter. She was rushing everything, so I felt like I didn't get the chance to really enjoy my time there. The reservation was close to closing time but I feel they should of accomadate the customer's time or have the cut of time for reservations at an earlier time.
It was my first time there, however, other people in our group had already been. Very nice ambiance & food was great. The Shi Breeze was very good. The waitress could have been a little more attentive and personable but overall a lovely evening out with friends.
I wanted to surprise my husband for his birthday and made reservations at SHI. Everything was lovely.
My only hesitation is how unknowledgeable the hostess was. I’ll message the restaurant privately and would recommend more staff training on her behalf.
In any case, we will definitely be back! The sashimi was amazing, some of the best we have ever had. Our server was delightful as well. We had heard nothing but fantastic reviews from friends, and we will continue to spread the word!
I have been to Shi multiple times before and I am sad to say this was the worst experience I ever had there the food was horrible
The sushi had absolutely no taste
Now I never judge on one visit and I do plan to return because everybody has bad days and the drinks were awesome my date and I made the best of it
But I have to say my favorite dish their the steak cubes were so hard and tasteless
Was disappointed for the first and hopefully only time ever
Will go back but two strokes your out for me
Came to celebrate a friends birthday we sat outside it was nice , wish we had a better view but the trees were blocking it . Havae been there in colder months better view. but the place is great, great food, nice atmosphere, good services. and the Lychee martinis are amazing.
Used to love Shi but can only recommend it with caveats now. Food still good. Great house cocktails. But last couple of years service has gone downhill. Even visually the place is starting to look a little ragged at the edges. From what I've heard (not necessarily accurate), owner may be stretched too thin with his newer restaurants leaving this one a little neglected. (?)
One of the best I have ever felt spending about $100 at a NY restaurant. Drinks unique and strong, lots of appetizer choices, fresh excellent sushi, and great chinese food options as well. I will be back. No doubt about it. Good enough I already reccomended it!
