Excellent Indian cuisine. My go to for Indian in suburban Philadelphia.

This review is not for Shere e Punjab, but for Open Table. I made a reservation on Christmas day and the restaurant wasn't open. Open table did not have the correct information. Regardless of who's fault it is that the restaurant was closed, it was disappointing. I won't be trusting open table in the future.

I had not eaten here for a few years and was looking forward to trying it again. The service was good-staff very helpful. Great mulligatawny soup, but much of the meal was sub-par. Pappadum were stale, cauliflower in aloo gobi had clearly been frozen- soggy in the center and the sauce not very tasty. We did have a great chaat appetizer.

We reserved this venue for lunch after our wedding rehearsal; my fiance is Indian, so we thought it would be nice. When I was ordering my food the waiter asked what spice level I wanted and I said, "1, not spicy at all because I have acid reflux" and that was it. I get my food and it's burning my throat, and then he decides to tell me all the chicken dishes cooked in the tandoori oven are pre-marinated and are medium (3) heat, and it would have taken 30 minutes to cook it fresh. I told him that would have been great to know before I ordered it, and I would have waited but now did not have time because we had ziplining reservations for my bachelorette party. So he brings me a menu and I ask about other food and he basically says everything is pre-marinated except chicken curry. I tell him I don't eat chicken curry and I just want seasoned chicken--nothing in a sauce, but he insists this will be fine. I get it, and it is chicken sitting in a thick sauce which I personally would not touch with a ten foot pole. So I ended up not eating anything all day on my bachelorette party until night time. Also, my wedding party agreed this place had some of the worst naan we've ever tasted. So overall, super disappointed and I have no idea how they have a 4.7 star rating on Google.

Nice decor. Service was very fast. Portion sizes seemed a bit small.

Shere-E-Punjab is one of my favorite local restaurants and the top of my list for Indian cuisine. Be adventurous when ordering - you really can't go wrong. Be prepared to wait for your drink order, we have taken to arriving before our reservation and sitting at the bar for a cocktail before being seated. Problem solved!

We usually go to the restaurant maybe once a month. It never disappoints and the people are always top notch. If you're in Glen Mills this is a definite must stop

My husband, daughter, granddaughter and I went to Shere e Punjab for my birthday - because it was located midway between my daughter's house and our house and we love Indian food. Both the service and the food were very good. We shared a wonderful gobi pakora (cauliflower fritters) appetizer as well as samosas. My daughter ordered a vegetarian saag dish while I ordered the saag with chicken and my husband ordered a lamb curry. All were very tasty and the portions were generous. One is able to choose from 5 levels of spiciness which greatly pleased my granddaughter who can't tolerate spicy food. We were very pleased with our meals and would definitely return.
