Very nice Place-- I would highly rec. I ate here a while ago- and the service and food was more of a 3 star place-- this time I would say 4.5 ....
Will definitely come back- and hope it stays 4.5 stars...
Definitely a nice romantic date spot, it was a bit cold but the blankets were a great addition. So happy to see couples bring their dogs as well.
Great vibe and food ! Very cozy indoor seating and fire place!
A lot of noise...that is the only problem. Pizzas are good. You should try the Nutella empanadas for dessert, so gooood
Great; right/small table but otherwise wonderful; love it there
The music level for dinner at 8pm was the equivalent to a nightclub at 1am. I asked if they could lower the volume so our table could hear one another speak and they turned it up instead. The bar and dinner area should not have the same music volume.
Had such a great time w two of my closest girlfriends. We had tons of wine, empanadas, pizzas, salad, and dessert- everything wAs really good. Looking forward to going there again! Came upon it super randomly and feel very lucky that that happened.
Fun place. Food was great. Very loud
Fantastic décor, you feel like you're in a Ralph Lauren lodge. Very cool.
Shelter - by far - offers the best atmosphere in Williamsburg particularly in Winter. Their drinks and fantastic music are the cherry on top.
Shelter is a frequent place for me and my wife. We often take friends and family there. Shelter has original decor reminding us of a Canadian cabin. The drinks are strong, the food is tasty and they have gluten free pizza (not celiac). Prices aren't too bad either.
It was perfect for birthday hang.
Good but not fantastic. Small salad
Great service and great food!
Very inviting atmosphere. We were there for Brunch and will definitely return soon for dinner. We had a chicken empanadas, avocado toast, pizza and lox platter. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
I had reservations on Christmas Eve for 5 and the place was pretty much empty which is expected on a holiday. There were two couch booths on each side of the fireplace which were perfect. I requested to sit at one and the hostess/our waitress said there was a reservation at 7pm (it was 7:04 at the time) so she could not seat us. I asked for the other table and she said same for that one. After 30 mins and still no one at the table we asked if we can move since they haven’t shown at either and we can be quick if needed.
We were told they are coming she was sure of it. And my husband said we won’t be there long they are 25 minutes late for both tables... she said they are her friends and she knew them so she was positive they would show. I felt it was extremely rude to lie to us about a 7pm reservation, reserve two tables yet alone for her own personal use, and then say after a half an hour when we asked again to move in an empty restaurant that it’s for her friends and no was beyond my definition of bad service. Which by the way when we left we 8:15 the tables were still empty. I can add on and say before I was even done chewing she asked me if I was done and took my plate.
We came here out of alllll the empty restaurants in Williamsburg on the holiday and it blew my mind to treat a group that way. We were hoping to sit down have a couple bottles of wine and a nice relaxing dinner but after our meal we left because the service was so poor. Don’t get me wrong the pizza was delicious but this girl ruined my experience as well as our family who was visiting from overseas for our wedding we just had days prior. Horrible.
Flavorless pizza. No oregano, no hot peppers, no seasonings. Furthermore, while the pizzas are fairly large size (for one person), they have cut them into 4 slices, 4 slices only! And, I get a totally limp, soggy crust. Not good. Plus the waitress's command of English is too spotty. Spending $33 for one person for a poor pizza and a soda water is not exactly a good deal. Plus the pizza choices are very limited. I am a pescatarian and there was no anchovy pizza, nor any other kind of seafood. I ended up getting a type with prosciutto and telling them to omit the prosciutto. I went to Shelter since they are so close to Music Hall of Williamsburg, but next time I will have to look further afield. I certainly would not want to repeat this experience.
Love the vibe in this place with the fireplace and low light. Service is very good. We enjoyed the empanadas, chicken was the favorite one.
This place was a winter wonderland! Perfect for a cozy date night or catch up with friends. Highly recommend!
Unfriendliest staff ever. We will never come back.
The aesthetic was absolutely stunning. The rustic decor and design added so much value to the dining experience. It really set the mood. The lighting and music further helped the ambience, to create an overall really enjoyable experience. The food was absolutely amazing, it was a little expensive but definitely worth it. Will definitely be returning!
Food was cold and waitress was nowhere to be found most of the time. Rester
LOVED shelter! Great food, drinks, & atmosphere. Staff was amazing - will definitely be coming back.
Love the cozy vibe for winter. Very authentic argentine empanadas.
Too loud! the table next to the door was cold due to wind from the outside
Amazing atmosphere. Food was delicious. The group of 6 had an incredible night.
Service was beyond slow. Pizza was soggy and tasteless. Cute place but don’t bother.
This restaurant is beautiful; it’s decorated with wood, dim lighting, antler chandeliers, fireplaces, and moose and deer heads. Very wintery and cozy. But instead of staying true to their ambiance, they played loud techno music all night. So loud, that I was hard to hear my date. We ordered the kale salad, which was good, and the ham and onion pizza. The water from the mozzarella, ham, and onions was too much for the dough, so the pizza was soggy and sloppy. I’ll try this place one more time. But if they have techno and mediocre food again, I won’t return.
The food was good. We enjoyed the burrata salad and two pizzas. The only downside was the overpowering smell of weed from the neighbors on the sidewalk, as we were seated outside.
The place is really nice and the food is delicious. Don’t miss the empanadas
food was great, service might take some time even when it’s not busy.
Awesome place for a family dinner, love the fact that ppl wasn't smoking around. The food is amazing. It takes a little bit long to server's to appear but it's manageable.
Service needs to improve (friendly but slow). Food and place are good.
The pizza was outstanding: the right thickness, the right cooking point, the right kind of mozzarella. I am Italian so I know what an authentic pizza tastes like, and the one I ate at Shelter's was as good as a true Italian pizza.
Great food! Great variety of options for many people.
No Air conditioning!
Las empanadas están buenísimas !!! Gran lugar, recomendado
We liked it
Service was poor
Had to get up and find people to help us but restaurant wasn’t even busy.
