They had a live guitar player that was relaxing. The views, staff and food were all amazing as well! Best lump crab appetizer and they put lump crab on the crab cakes Benedict! I wrote a special note to write my sisters name next to happy birthday on her dessert plate and they did! Such a fun, special experience. I wish they had brunch all year long, but you only have a few weekends of summer left to go try the best brunch in Galveston!
From beginning to end, our dinner was superb! Michael is a wonderful asset to Shearn’s, and he always makes the evening run beautifully, despite multiple courses for the four of us. We are so lucky to have such a nice fine dining place in Galveston!
We had a fantastic meal and overall experience. Food and service were both excellent, and the view was fantastic!
We eat here every time we're in Galveston. The food and service have always been immaculate, until this time. My crab appetizer was filled with little bits of crabshell. It wasn't just one bite that I could discreetly remove and then enjoy the rest of the dish. Every single bite had shell in it. I finally gave up on eating it. I told the server, and he apologized and said he would mention it to the chef. I thought maybe they would take that item off the bill, but they didn't. Then, when my husband ordered coffee after dinner, it was lukewarm. We didn't mention that at the time, because it wasn't a big deal by itself, but looking back, it reminded me of the earlier problem and left us with a feeling of disappointment.
The steaks were great, the soufflés were awesome, and the service prompt. As always, the atmosphere and views were beautiful. So I will say I recommend Shearn's, because maybe this was just a bad day for them. I certainly hope they are not starting to decline.
Tuesday is steak and lobster for $29!! Great to split and add a salad too.
Fabulous Service, Food and Ambiance. One of the few quiet restaurants in Galveston. We were celebrating hubby’s and daughter’s birthdays. They brought beautiful pieces of cake. Hubby and daughter shared the Chateaubriand, which was perfect. I had a grouper with shrimp special, that was very good. The accompanying vegetables were outstanding. We also had the tomato burrata salad which was very yummy. After dinner, we had drinks in the bar, where we watched the fireworks and listened to a delightful piano man. Others were dancing and having a great time.
The wait staff and the view was unbelievable. Thank you so much for making my birthday a time to remember
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. My wife and I had filet and ribeye, respectively, Each of which was tender and well prepared. The view from the ninth floor is beautiful. The service was in all respects top notch. The price is not modest. You hope to get what you pay for and we certainly did.
We have been coming to Galveston for years, and did not know of this place until our son mentioned it,
what a great view!! My husband and I cant wait to go back.
My husband and I go out once a week for a special evening together. We try to frequent different places. We have been to Shearn’s many times and it never disappoints. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly but professional. We had a lovely meal.
We went to Shearns for the first time after about a year in Galveston.
The experience did not disappoint.
The view was incredible. The staff was especially helpful and not overwhelming. The food was amazing.
If you haven’t tried Shearns yet - do it. You will not regret it.
Ask for Michael, he is the best waiter there, very attentitive.
Lovely dinner, great view
Great surf and turf special but the filet was a bit thinner than I am used to. Wine list could use an update.
Excellent food. Attentive staff. Atmosphere was elegant and upscale. Cannot wait to return.
Beautiful setting and food always good. The service is attentive but not over bearing.
It was very expensive but the food was outstanding.
Awesome view of Galveston bay
We enjoyed our evening out dining at Shearn's The lobster bisque is always a favorite. My husband had the red snapper special which he enjoyed while I opted for the sautéed local flounder in which I was disappointed. It was a little dry and could have used a little more of the browned butter. For dessert, we could not pass up the soufflé's.
Everything was slow, from the drinks to bread to our meal taking an hour to come out. It wasn’t even half full. However, we enjoyed the fresh OJ for the mimosas and that it was served separately, so you could mid your own drink. All of our food was amazing! Crab cake Benedict and Snapper were the best. We will definitely be back for brunch and now to try dinner next, but glad we will now know that it takes a little longer but so worth the wait. The views were awesome too! I bet it’s gorgeous for sunset.
We had a great evening at Shearn's. We had a drink onnthe bar area and watched the sunset before our dinner reservations. Piano entertainer was nice and the views were second to none! Our server was one of the best I've had. He was very professional without being too stuffy or casual. The food was good and the fireworks show was awesome. Cant wait to go back!
I had been to Shearns many years ago and it was memorable so I wanted to go back, and this time was even better than the last. I would highly recommend the Chateaubriand for 2. We had drinks, a perfect sunset view, and the staff was wonderful. We even scooted over to the bar and enjoyed a cocktail & danced to the piano bar while we were waiting for our dinner. The presentation was artistic, top notch, delectable, and as good as any restaurant anywhere I have been. What a magnificent restaurant. This is a hidden gem.
Fine dining at it's best. Outstanding cuisine, excellent service, beautiful ambience and views.
Service is just too slow between courses and or requesting a cocktail, etc.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our brunch yesterday (Sunday). But for some reason we did not understand, it took a long long time for our meals to arrive. Fortunately we were not in a hurry and we were enjoying our time with friends, so it was not a big deal to us. But I think the restaurant should be aware that , for most people, this would not be acceptable. So it is something you should try to fix I think. This is important for your future brunch business
Our waiter, Oscar was terrific! He was very professional, attentive and great customer service skills.
EXCELLENT MEAL. ONLY 4 STARS AS WAITER DID NOT COME BACK DURING THE MEAL TO SEE IF MORE WINE OR WATER WAS NEEDED. HAD TO CATCH HIS EYE WHEN MEAL WAS ALMOST DONE.
Wonderful food and service. Treated top notch for our anniversary.
I eat at Shearn's every trip to Galveston. It is one of the highlights. Over the last few years it has been consistent in every aspect of food, ambiance and service.
This was our first time at Shearns and were very impressed. Food was well prepared and presented well. Pace of the meal was not rushed. Portions were good value. Highly recommend this restaurant for nice escape from daily routine.
Great food and nice touches. Beautiful atmosphere and view.
Every time we dine at Shearns exceeds the time before, so this last meal and evening was no exception! Perfect evening for my out of town guests! The lounge before and after our meal gave us service to match our dinner. Thank you
Great job!! We loved how they Over poured the glasses of wine! Our Anniversary and you get a free desert!!
Amazing seafood and dessert. Wait staff very friendly and offered complementary samples
It was our anniversary and they gave me a rose and then a wonderful desert. I can say everything was perfect.
Shearn’s is a lovely restaurant, with an awesome view, impressive service and delicious food. Pricey, Yes, but perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
We had an excellent dinner at Shearn’s. Emmet and Brandon provided some of the best service we have ever had at a restaurant. A rose was brought to our table shortly after we were seated as an anniversary treat. The dining here provides a Beautiful atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows. We were served a delicious amuse bouche with an oyster, crabmeat and parmesan cheese. That was unexpected! I enjoyed a shrimp appetizer and the escargot as my entree. Hubby had the French onion soup followed by the filet with a small side of mushrooms. The appetizer course and the entrees were separated by a palette cleanser of peach sorbet. Another unexpected treat.
We went across the hall to the lounge after dinner to enjoy the live piano music. While ordering our drinks, Brandon brought us a beautiful cheesecAke for us to enjoy in our room later. So nice!!
The female manager in the lounge makes excellent drinks. She made me an espresso martini two nights in a row. We’ll be back!
Best stuffed flounder. Glad I got to experience it. Next time I’ll have the soufflé
Josh was a wonderful server in the restaurant, and Michelle was delightful in the lounge. We have been going to Shearns for several years, especially for celebratory meals. They are reliable in both their cuisine and customer care. Bravo!!
We waited 2 hours to get our main course and then it was over cooked. Spending $200 on a meal and being that poor quality was very disappointing.
Waitress did all she could but we were ultimately hungry and ended up going to another restaurant to get a better meal.
