We stopped in on vacation with reservations to try the Sunday brunch. The food was fine, but more of what i would expect from a 20 dollar brunch buffet. The price was actually 65 dollars per person. The crab on the buffet was served by the same chef who was making omelettes and cutting beef tenderloin. He was giving people 2 small broken leg pieces each serving. Very off putting to have to return 5 times for what the average person might want to eat on a plate of king crab. The rest of the buffet like i said was fine, but not close to the quality I have eaten at other similar "high end buffets". We left full, but not happy with the brunch. Highlight of the meal was our server. Very friendly, always attentive, and made the meal bearable.
Sunday brunch was great but coffee service was slow and lacking.
It would seem like $65.00 dollars a person is quite expensive for a brunch. But I will say this short and sweet if you have a great appetite and love seafood run there next Sunday don't walk!!!!!!
Dining room sticky, wet, and unkempt. Took forever to be waited on. Food overcooked. Our advice. . . Keep driving
Fantastic experience all the way around.
A wonderful evening celebrating my son's college graduation. Yasmine was a wonderful server . Food was excellent. Highly recommend.
We go to Shaw's every year for my wife's birthday. This is the 20th year. Each year we look forward to the excellent food and service. We had some wine list favorites that have remained consistent as recommended on our first visit, however their wine list prices have gotten way out of hand. Kim Crawford at $49 a bottle for a ($15 standard price retail) and Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc for $90 a bottle when you can order from the winery (not club price) for $26. These are completely unreasonable markups.
Our server was able to recommend a reasonably priced white from the list and it was really good. Service was really good, the overpriced wine has become a bit of a pet peeve of mine that I wish they would address.
My husband and I had an early dinner on Saturday and enjoyed every moment. Sushi, lobster bisque and salad, followed by tails and steak and 2 sides. Everything was well timed and well cooked. Our server was very knowledgeable
Been to Shaw’s many times. Always good food and a good experience. This visit as no exception
The portions were incredibly small. The menu states that the crab legs would be 1 1/4 lbs. the server told us that it’s usually 2 legs. I think the restaurant is used to just putting two legs on the plate and not weighing it because these legs were pretty small and there it no way that it weighed 1 1/4 lbs. what I was served is not worth $79 and I will not be returning.
First time here and we will definitely be back!! Stellar service with delicious food!
Was there twice this week and likely twice next week then probably twice a week forever. Fantastic food service even better. Not saying all of the servers aren't great but if you for lunch for Yazmin. Seriously one of the best, most professional & knowledgeable people I've ever met.
Fresh seafood with a 1940’s dinner club feel. Our meals were great and the service impeccable.
Great food, absolutely outstanding service. From the beginning to the end. From water to bread to going over the menu to having the waiter being able to cater to subtle dietary needs. Food was quick, in order from appetizer to dessert, perfectly timed, perfectly cooked, very well done all around. My wife is an Exec Chef downtown and was very pleased. The bill was a bit hefty, but understandably, we are not in Key West, where Stone Crab is readily available. Tables are a bit close to others but not too bad. Perhaps if we wouldve sat in another room or a booth it wouldve been better. Overall great experience for Mothers Day. Left with full bellies. Kid friendly too.
Food was great. We had a large group and didn't feel crowded in. It was nice.
Yazmin as always was a great server. The food was amazing
Food is pricey but I have never regretted going there because food and service are always top notch. I would rather pay a little more and enjoy it then save a few dollars and wish I’d stayed home.
Mothers Day brunch was awesome. Plenty of options.
will definitely be coming back for brunch, food was great
Best brunch we’ve ever had!
As usual we enjoyed on Mother's
day brunch. We will be dine soon again.
A bit pricey to not have a mimosa bar included with the great brunch buffet. Food and service was excellent. Will definitely return.
Their Mother's Day brunch will be a tradition for us moving forward. Great food, spread out so no long lines, and any option you could want. It was a great day.
Mother’s Day Brunch was to die for!
Shaw’s is always a treat! Service, food and drink always exceeds expectations. It’s the perfect place to meet with friends, or celebrate a special occasion
All staff personnel were very polite and attentive.
I asked for a table that was private and I was put in a tight 2 top next to others. Could hear everyone’s conversation.
Enjoy dining at Shaw’s. I’m surprised at the price they charge for crab legs that they don’t split the legs in half before serving. We also had oysters Rockefeller, the Shaw’s Signature Seafood Salad and swordfish - everything was very good and our server (Marcin) was very attentive. Would like to try their Sunday brunch next time.
Food and wine was yummy! Took my mother in law here for a celebration. The fried calamari was bomb!
One of the best meals my husband and I have had in a long time. It was the first time that we had tried oysters and our server was very informative in describing how to eat them and what different types there were. Both of our meals were fantastic. My husband had the tuna which was delicious. And I had the petite filet with garlic shrimp and scallops. The scallops melted in my mouth the petite filet was cooked precisely and the garlic shrimp was very good. We topped the night off with dessert. A decadant chocolate cake recommended by our server.
Food was good but left hungry. For the money we paid we expected a lot more. Be carful what you choose and ask for portion sizes. Service was a bit slow. But then at the end took our plates almost before we were finished like they were trying to get us out and they had open tables.
very fresh fish, great atmosphere, but service can be improved. twice we had different servers with a bit of a chip on their shoulder
I had the halibut and it was under seasoned. The server never came back to ask how our dinner was. We order the crème brûlée For dessert and it had no crust on the top. And it was cold. They didn’t bother warming it up and putting enough sugar on it. I would never go back to this restaurant.
It was VERY loud as there were several large groups there while we were there. Our server did a good job considering the groups he was serving. Service improved and the noise level was better after some of them left.
Fantastic quality. Great oysters and red crab. A perfectly crafted Martini. Fast, professional service. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
Service was impeccable, the food as always was fresh and extremely tasty. Great recommendation from waitress. Shaw’s is a go to, staple restaurant in Chicago.
EXCELLENT FOOD - ALASKAN RED KING CRAB LEGS OUR FAVORITE.
ATTENTIVE SERVICERS AND STAFF.
FINE DINING AT IT'S BEST. EASY RESERVATIONS.
Restaurant excellent. Great food great atmosphere. Great service. Very crowded and many kids, still noise llevel was good. We did not have to yell across the table to hear each other.
We love the brunch at Shaw's Crab House. The food is always delicious and plentiful. The staff is friendly and always helpful.
We attended Shaw's Sunday Buffet and it was well worth it. Food was delicious and service was exquisite.
