The parmesan crusted haddock was amazing
Two different food items were incorrect. They immediately rectified the situation, no questions asked. Excellent service
Valentines, 2 year engagement and 6 month wedding anniversary
If you imagine... that you died and went to heaven, and there was a buffet of food, of anything you could possibly want... that would be this Shaws brunch!!
I mean for $65 a person.... I really don't think you could ask for anything more.
It was incredible, food outstanding, and have something for everyone!
Sunday brunch is excellent! Oysters, Shrimp, beef tenderloin, king crab legs, and all the rest of the delicious breakfast options. Gluten free accommodating.
We love Shaw’s typically, but we were at a two top practically on top of the diners on either side of us. Every time the waiter came to either of those two tables, his butt was literally in our faces. The people working were somewhat snooty and since we paid over $200 for the dinner, I would expect a bit better.
Cheap wine and overpriced for the quality of food. One-time deal for me, won't be going back.
There seemed to be inconsistent communication with the several hosts/hostesses with regard to when our table would be ready. One said it would “still be another 10 minutes” while the other said our table was ready .... anyways, the rest of the evening was great. Excellent service and delicious food.
The only disappointing thing was whole lobsters weren't very big
The food was fantastic and the service was great. My glass was never empty!
Although the ambiance was serene, the meals my wife and I ordered was overpriced for the quality of the lobster roll and fries we had for our lunch. I am not sure we'll be back anytime soon. We believe Red Lobster has a better quality of food choices, convenient pricing, and the overall taste is memorable.
Birthday food was as always great
It was the Friday after St. Valentines Day and as such quite busy. We had to wait a bit for a 7:30 reservation but once we were seated the service was superb. Our waitress was excellent; knowledgeable and entertaining. Our orders came in appropriately well-timed intervals and it was all very, very good. Excellent Crab and a large portion as well. This restaurant is busy and the seating is close but we felt no cramped quarters. Always enjoy our visits here.
The restaurant is beautiful, and the server was nice, but the food was not good for the price. I ordered the steamed crab legs, and of the two that you receive one was dry and obviously over cooked. My husband’s steak (16 oz ribeye) rivaled Chili’s sirloin steak and was extremely tough. The saving grace was my daughter’s fish and chips which we all enjoyed for dinner. I’m very disappointed and expected so much more based on past reviews.
First time here. So, had the Shaw’s Seafood Platter to try several dishes. I wasn’t disappointed, quite delicious. The wife asked for half an order of the steamed lobster tails and they accommodated without question. Again, food she thought her food was delicious. A side order of charred green beans was an excellent accompaniment.
Food was good but steak was not warm when it came to our table.
We always enjoy coming to Gibsons, the food is great and the service is excellent.
We dined at Shaw's/Schaumburg on New Year's Eve and when we visited on Feb 14, we ordered the exact same main course but I found the Fish and Chips I had on New Year's Eve were much better than Feb 14. I think the fish was overcooked or the cooking oil was not as fresh. The coating was a very dark brown whereas, the first time time it was golden brown and so hot inside I had to wait a bit to put it in my mouth.
Shaw's has been our Valentine's day go to for a number of years. This year's visit was most disappointing. Both Mahi-Mahi and scallops were cold and only so-so tasting. Crabcake appetizer has been crisper, much tastier and larger in year's past. The vegetable medly served with both entrees lacked taste. Desert was very good. Service was good.
Love the food, place is great. We’d be back more but the place is so expensive
From the moment we walked in it was disappointing. The hostess was nowhere to be found. We waited over 5 minutes for her. Then the busboy was rude reaching over our food to remove silverware. We ordered Ed appetizers and our silverware was cleared and not replaced. When the main course arrived we didn’t have any silverware. One of us got and got the necessary silverware.! Our waitress was at best inattentive. The food was not up to Shaw’s usual standard. We will not be returning. Your downtown facility is much better.
Food was GOOD! Service, specifically our waitress was much, much better than most.
The noise level, however, was not good.
I had reservations for 5:30 PM, got there about 5:10. My brother and friend were already there, we were seated a few minutes later. The waiter professionally explained the menu and specials, was prompt with the drinks (and refills) as was the rest of the staff with removing/replacing plates and glasses. Started out with a half dozen oysters, Cotuit I believe - heavenly, while the rest of the party had soup. The wife loved the Lobster Bisque. For the entree I had the Surf & Surf (Alaskan King Crab and Lobster Tail) and the wife had the Red Snapper. The King Crab was conveniently split and very sweet and the tail was presented in typical fashion split with drawn butter, my personal preference is for a side of Old Bay for dipping (a little extra flavor kick). Presentations were great, as were the taste and textures, finished off with my favorite creme brûlée while the wife had some sort of mega chocolate cake. My friend and I were celebrating recent promotions and Shaws was a perfect place, we all had a fantastic evening.
This was my first time with my family. It was to celebrate my grandma, mother, and wife’s birthdays (they all have birthdays in January). It was overall an amazing experience. Big thanks to Eva, who made our experience even more valuable. She is by far the best server who I’ve ever met! In terms of food, we had the king crab legs which were amazing. It was a little pricy, but worth it considering it was for a special occasion. We had other appetizers as well. The grilled calamari is definitely a must! We also had Brussels sprouts and oysters which were pretty good. As for dessert, we had chocolate cake, key lime pie and the raspberry pie. All were delicious!
Our annual Valentines Day brunch! Everything was fresh and wonderfully prepared. Our waiter/bartender Kevin was exceptional, making the very best old fashioned we have ever had!
Great Valentine Brunch and amazing service, highly recommend!
Made the reservation for 8:15 and when we arrived at 8:10 the hosts said it would only be a few minutes, they were cleaning up tables. They did not seat us until almost 9:00 pm and by that time, the tables were starting to clear out and the waitstaff was looking tired and irritated. the food was great as always but I feel like if I make a reservation that I should be seated within 10 minutes of that reservation. I feel that they overbooked people and it’s not fair. I would have cancelled the reservation or they could have called to say they were behind. The staff didn’t seem to care that we were waiting almost 45 minutes with two kids. They seemed almost irritated that we were upset. No apologies offered at all. I think that the way people treat you at a restaurant is just as important as how good the food is. The waitress was very nice but forgot a few of the items we ordered. I will not be going back and I’m very weary of making reservations on Open Table because how do you know if you’re going to be seated at the time you reserve. That’s why I use Open Table, to make sure I get seated at that time. Not to wait 45 minutes like a nobody but pay them 200 for dinner.
We did have to wait an extra 15 minutes beyond our reservation time, but the manager seated the four of us in a beautiful round booth to make up for it. The place was very crowded, assuming because it was the weekend before Valentine's Day, and it was clear our server, Marcin, had a large section. So we told him from the beginning that we were in no hurry. Regardless, he gave us great recommendations. We ordered appetizers to start. The oysters were a hit for our friends. My wife said her wedge salad was perfect, and my jambalaya was New Orleans-worthy. Our dinners were exceptional. I was torn between the griddled garlic shrimp or crab cakes so our server recommended a seafood combo. I told him I didn't care for scallops so he said he could give me extra shrimp. It was perfect. We ordered three sides for the table; the creamed spinach, the au gratin potatoes and the roasted Brussels Sprouts. All three were amazing. We ended the night splitting key lime cheesecake and Banana's Foster. The Banana's Foster did Brennan's in New Orleans proud. I want to point out a true champion of the night. I don't know if his position is more to assist the servers or if he is a traditional bus boy. His name was Andy. He was the most attentive young man. He was knowledgable of the menu. He kept our water glasses full and got us extra butter. I know anyone should do this, but he was an extraordinary young man. We told him our names when I asked him for his, and he made it a point to say goodnight as we were leaving, addressing all of us by name. Thanks to all the folks at Shaw's. It could not have been a better night.
25th Birthday for son
Dinner at Shaw's is always wonderful. The food was great( love the tuna preparation with crispy noodles and peanuts). Service was attentive without being intrusive. A lovely time was had by the four of us!!
Great food. A little on the pricey side for the size of portions. But food was fantastic. Plan on at least 70 bucks a person
I was very disappointed with my dinner. Not the Shaw’s I knew. Rushed service, waiter with dirty jacket and cold food(creamed spinach). Years back this was an elegant experience. It truly felt like a fast food diner. Please slow down the courses or at least wait till one course is finished before the next and serve hot food. The coffee and dessert was very good. Please return to what I remember, an excellent restaurant with consistent quality.
Disappointed that the birthday we were celebrating was not acknowledged.
Food was good and my dietary requirements were honored.
As always great food, generous drinks, great service
Always a favorite when I am in the area. Scott gave us superior service. Food was first-rate as usual. Coming back in three weeks
We went for lunch during restaurant week to have a new dining experience. Service was good and the meal was good. The noise level was very high.
Went for restaurant week- biggest issue is the key lime pie was not its usual fabulous.
Great first time experience but dont get seated in the bar. Ambiance and noise level is not desirable. Food great, service great but bar area compared to the other rooms is a bit lackluster for the money expenditure.
Wonderful food, swift seating and service , our server was awesome !!!!
Oh man, talk about elegant seafood dining! I came here for their Super Bowl Sunday brunch special and it was worth every penny! As long as your wore an NFL jersey, they’ll give you a $25 gift card for a future carry out order. The breakfast side of things were tasty with thick cut bacon, sausages, mac n cheese with lobster brûlée, fried and raw shrimp, crab legs and a sweets table that’s just not fair. The service was really on point and couldn’t be better!
