Shaw’s is back!!! Nuf said!
We were very upset with the policy that you were charging an extra 5 % because of Covid. Everyone is suffering. The really disturbing part was learning this all went to the restaurant which we thought was misleading; as, it would be easy to think it went to the servers and cause us to reduce their tip.
Celebrating Mother’s Day, college graduation but most importantly dining out together after the drama of 2020!
Every time we go to Shaws, we ask ourselves why we don't go here ALL the time! The food is incredible, the prices are very fair, and the service is always stellar! This particular experience was wonderful because we were with our two young kids (ages 3 and 5), who can be a little difficult, but the manager immediately brought over crayons, our server, Fawn, was super sweet to them and made great recommendations on what they might like, and we just had an overall wonderful dinner. Shaws is perfect for getting the upscale and delicious dining experience for the adults, but also doesn't make you feel bad about bringing your kids. Thank you!
Great ambiance, Walleye, Salmon and Sushi were amazing.
Lobster roll had crisp toasted bun but to my surprise it was a cold sandwich (by design). I didnt know that before ordering.
Fries were great, they ran out of the lobster mac and cheese, (truffle) mashed potatoes,
Service was great. I was able to expand my reservation from 4 to 6, two days prior. They told me Id have a private room but put my party in a regular table (which was great) but different from what we discussed.
Great place to talk, have a nice evening with great food
I have been dining at Shaw’s since I was a teenager, and the food is consistently excellent. I took my wife & kids there for Mother’s Day yesterday, and everyone had a great time. The kids ordered sushi (they’re on a bit of a sushi kick). I ordered Ahi Tuna, which was cooked to perfection (seared on the outside & rare on the inside), and my wife ordered the seafood platter. Everything was delicious, including the crab cakes that we shared as an appetizer.
Aesthetically, Shaw’s hasn’t changed in years, but it is a nice seafood restaurant- dark wood paneling and all!
Anyone looking for a special occasion meal or a business dinner spot, this is the place.
Our waiter, Kirk, did a fantastic job. It was a great first Mother's Day for my wife. The manager (I think that's who he was) even tied on a crab/lobster bib to our 7-1/2 month son. Great experience!
Went for mothers day brunch .. service was spot on ... drinks a little pricey and our liquor tab was almost as much as the food! Definitely a special occasion restaurant
The brunch is great and I understand that it has to be changed due to the times, but I have to be honest, this brunch does not meet my expectations of the high price and I miss the old way!
The Mother’s Day brunch was phenomenal!!
Brunch was simply outstanding
The food and ambiance was AMAZING!!
The first thing I noticed was they had a plan to keeping everyone safe from the pandemic and that was great. Our waiter was very courteous and made great suggestions. My wife said that after the meal she was in a happy food coma. She had oysters followed by surf and surf (lobster and crab legs) I had sushi which was great.
The king crab dinner was amazing. And try the Brussels sprouts they were great. My mom got the surf and turf and I tried the steak and again it was amazing.
I told her we set the standard for Mother’s Day. Everything they serve is amazing 1000/10!!!!!
Spent several hundred dollars here on Saturday on a family dinner. Our waitress was subpar and not particularly attentive. Restaurant looks dated and again I was pretty disappointed with the ambiance and service.
Amazing! Fantastic food and cocktails.
Everything was great. I will be back soon!
Mother’s Day treat for the wife and we enjoyed our experience. The staff and waiter provided good service. However, we did notice that the food portions size were smaller, they add a 4 percent COVID surcharge to your bill, and certain food items like Red Snapper were unavailable due to limited supply. Overall, the experience was very good and would recommend the restaurant to others.
Our waiter had to be asked several times for beverages (Sprite and coffee). He may be getting forgetful or looses train of thought easily .
The crab legs were very dry. Whicg was probably the reason we did not receive bibs, (usually given out when eating shellfish). The butterfly shrimp were overcooked. The slices of key lime pie were tiny bites.
We were very disappointed with our experience, especially for it being mother's day.
Won't be coming back.
Always a great dining experience whenever we eat here at Shaw's.
Mother’s Day brunch was the occasion to go to Shaw’s…. always one of the best dining experiences in Chicago.
The best food, served by attentive and knowledgeable staff.
From start to finish our experience was the best! Food was great and they even remembered we were there for a special occasion. Dessert was divine! Highly recommend visiting if you are in downtown.
This is our third visit to Shaw’s and it has never failed to be exceptional. A true Chicago classic.
Food was incredible and the service was impeccable. I can’t complement this place enough.
Amazing birthday dinner!
Glad to see Shaws made it they this crisis. Food suburb as always . It is expensive but always good quality!
All great! I definitely recommend it to a friend, as a matter fact I already did!
