Chris is amazing! Listen to whatever he tells you!!
Our service was wonderful and the food was fresh and made excellent. We were given great choice options by our waiter. We highly recommend this location. Thank you for your hospitality and hosting.
Food and service was good. Comparatively overpriced for what you get.
Juan our server was GREAT!
Micci is an awesome bartender!!
The food and service were exceptional. I will definitely visit there again the next time I am in Chicago.
Pricey, for sure, but Shaw's is a gem and an institution in its own.
Brunch to celebrate a birthday. Excellent food selections
No complaints about the food- it’s fabulous. They just squeeze a few too many tables in to the dining area- it makes it difficult to find a path back to your table.
Great seafood brunch. It was of very high quality crab ,smoked salmon and shrimp. American gulf shrimp and tenderloin all great.
The bathroom is small. The water from the faucet is too strong. Such as nice place but the bathroom could use some work.
The brunch is fantastic! Great options for everyone to enjoy. Our server Danielle was entertaining and attentive to our needs.
Great value for the variety and quality of food offered. We’ll definitely be back!!
Louis the maitre d is the man and is excellent!!! We keep coming back!
Honestly, the food was 'good', service was 'good' - no real complaints per say - Just nothing that great either - definitely nothing to justify the cost. Pricing adds up quickly for what ends up being an ok meal and experience. For the total bill, I could think of many many other places I'd much rather spend that kind of $$ at.
Raphael’s service was the best!
We went to the Saturday brunch. OMG what a brunch!
Great classic food - seafood, steakhouse
Wonderful experience. Food delicious. Service exceptional. Even gave us complimentary key lime pie for it being our first time there. Only negative is that wine is very over-priced. Cheapest bottle was $44 and then wide gap to next lowest price.
Wonderful never disappoints
Excellent food, excellent service!! First class dining experience and one of my favorite Chicago restaurants!
Girls night out! Love being able to get a last minute reservation and go to Shaw’s!
Consistently delicious. Great service.
We were sat in the middle of two tables so it was loud. The waiter dropped a knife which flipped onto my customer with food spraying on his clothes. Food was ok. King Crab was not cracked and he thought it was supposed to be as it had in the past. Just not an overall good experience.
Crab legs are the best I’ve had in Chicago for sure. The Cremini mushroom, hashed potatoes and broccolini sides were excellent as well. The dessert sampler plate was perfect to try most of the desserts at once. Fresh-shucked oyster variety and local/regional beer selection at the bar was impressive as well; all tasted great.
I moved here from LA and fell in love with this place! Great seafood and it's my new "go to" spot.
Great brunch. Fun dessert bar, and prompt attentive service.
A friend was in town from London, so along with a couple more from the British Airways crew, to brunch we went! There was something for everyone! They very much enjoyed the food and loved the atmosphere!
Food was excellent, service was attentive. Not loud at all so easy to have a conversation.
We went to Shaw's for dinner after seeing Hamilton and to celebrate my birthday. We arrived earlier than our reservation and sat at the bar for a beer and oysters. The oysters are pricey, but also very good, very cold and clean, and very well presented. The bartender was engaging and added to our positive experience.
The atmosphere of the dining room was traditional, rich and classy. It felt like a well established place with history. The service staff were all in jacket and tie... very elegant. Our server was clearly very busy and working very hard. Even so, she was also attentive, engaging and gave us a personal experience.
The food was wonderful! This is a very expensive restaurant by my standards... even though I also really enjoy fine dining. Because the portions looked so big, we decided to share an entrée with a side dish. I highly recommend doing so on a date here. The kitchen plated our shared entrée separately for us. The quality of the food was wonderful! And the shared portion felt just right. We even had some of our side dish left over.
For my birthday dessert, we shared a piece of the chocolate layer cake. This cake was dense and absolutely delicious! It was a truly memorable slice of cake! Because it was so dense, it required a slow enjoyment which added to the experience.
Overall, we felt like we had a luxurious meal! And because we shared our entrée, we didn't feel like we'd been robbed either.
I highly recommend Shaw's. For a more casual experience, the oyster bar looks lively! I understand they have live music that adds to the fun and food!
I hope you go! Enjoy!
Got an email from open table saying i didn’t check in when we were there.
We debated between Joe’s and here and because bigger menu and kids we opted to try this. Service was great and food was good but not amazing. Would go again for seafood and stone crab but if Joe’s (same company) id opt for that for sure!
Amazing seafood and fish. Very good quality and fresh. Interesting dishes not just standard.
Very good service
We've eaten at this restaurant before and love the ambiance and the service. The food is a bit on the expensive side. I felt that $87 for two crab legs was a bit excessive. In addition, the fish dish I ordered had no flavor at all.
It's a good location if attending a show at one of the theaters, and the service is good and staff friendly, but there are good alternatives in Chicago at a fraction of the price.
We went to Shaws for our 13th wedding anniversary. We both had the Signature dish (6 oz filet and crab legs). Fantastic food, great service, great ambiance. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town.
I’ve never experienced a bad time here. The Stone Crab are incredible and the entree portions are perfect.
Would have loved to give Shaws's a 5 star but had one problem. The food was just luke warm. The service was excellent as was the food. It just was not hot. We had lobster bisque, wedge salad crab and lobster. I would recommend it highly but just make sure that your food is hot.
Always great seafood. Enjoyed the variety plate of fresh oysters.
Food was surprisingly lackluster and disappointing. Out of 5 of us, no one had a meal they would,go back for. Mahi did not seem fresh, soup was cold when brought to the table, flounder was over cooked. Service was off as well, not bad, but definitely not attentive.
