The meal was utterly fantastic
Our server was incredible— at our table just the right amount of spacing and time.

The place is old school Chicago. The service was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. We had oysters, shrimp, crab legs, crab cakes, lobster bisque. Everything was cooked perfectly. The desserts were great, especially raspberry pie. Highly recommend.

Saturday and Sunday brunch at Shaw’s is excellent. An old fashioned buffet with all the breakfast choices imaginable, sides of beef and ham, soups salads, and seafood. Lots of seafood. Oysters, shrimp both peel and eat(actually no peeling) and deep fried, king crab legs, sushi, lobster Mac and cheese and more. $65 a head for adults is steep but if you come hungry and love seafood or the regular brunch fare of eggs Benedict and omelets it is worth it.

I would recommend to go if you never been before.
There wasn't a long wait for king crab legs, it's just a very small area to get in and out, legs were over cooked, but still good.
Surprisingly the lobster mac and cheese was very good despite the lack in lobster lol, cheese was very rich and creamy.
Dessert - there was very little left and had to wait a long time for them to replenish and it wasn't worth waiting.

Everything was great! I booked a 6:30 and I was just a little upset that I still had to wait 20 min before my buzzer rang. We did however go in for a birthday and never got the birthday cake with candle like the other two tables by us did. Besides all that it was fantastic the atmosphere was great, our server was AMAZING! Explained the menu to us and help us understands how it work. Definitely would recommend to everyone and anyone

A wonderful brunch experience. The food alone is worth the $65 price tag, but the excellent service and charming ambiance take Shaw's over the top. On a regular Saturday afternoon it's not too crowded or loud. Great music and a nice volume for conversation. Very relaxing. The variety of options and the quality of the food is excellent. We tried everything and everything was delicious. I recommend Shaw's any time of day and any day of the week. I'm addition to their weekend brunch, they have jazz on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and a really great weekday happy hour.

The Oyster Bar was much too loud. Maybe they could do without the recorded music on top of loud voices in a crowded room.

I have eaten at this restaurant about a dozen times in the past ten years and recommended it to friends often. Although the food quality was excellent the variety of choices was less than expected and less than in past visits. I was significantly disappointed that steamed mussels were not on the menu and the waitress said there was not enough demand and she was abrupt in her tone if voice answering my question. I had been at another great restaurant the previous evening and steamed mussels in wine were a standard fare. In general the waitress feigned a smile and being attentive but it was a facade.

Always a favorite, very good selection at price points expected for quality. Service was exceptional from knowledgeable staff...for example found key lime pie was a bit mushy...staff removed item from bill without asking to do so...the way service should be: proactive, not reactive. Kudos to staff!

HAD A RESERVATION BUT TOOK ANOTHER 20 MIN TO GET SEATED. SEEMS THAT THEY UPPED THE PRICES FOR FATHER'S DAY. LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE AND A BIT NOISY.

THE STAFF WAS ALREADY CLEANING UP BEFORE WE WERE FINISHED.

They were about 20 minutes late in seating our party. It was so incredibly crowded and chaotic. When we finally were seated, they kept running out of certain foods so it was a lot of getting up and checking if the food you wanted had been replenished. It was Father’s Day weekend so I’m sure that was why it was extra chaotic, but it was to the point that it was unpleasant. Then, when the bill came, we learned that apparently, for special occasions and holidays, they jack up the price to $75 per head. The up-charge didn’t make any sense since literally the same foods were available and the experience was the worst we’ve ever had at Shaw’s. We’ve been coming to Shaw’s brunches for about a decade and it seems it’s time to look for other brunch alternatives.

The check in process is a joke even with reservation. My family and I waited for 30 minutes before we can be seated. The host has no idea we have gotten the check in beeper until I double check with her and she said she didn't know we have everyone, which contradicts with the idea of handing out the beeper. If she thinks we are not ready, why would she hand out the beeper in the first place. That pretty much ruins the father's day brunch.
