Shaw's Crab House - Chicago
Book your next event with us
We had a great dinner to celebrate my birthday! The salmon was amazing!
Long time favorite - consistently excellent and fresh product. New Zealand Salmon was great!
This is a great Chicago institution. Drinks are good, food is predictable. You have a choice of a sit-down dinner or raw bar which is noisy and fun.
A staple in our family. Always amazing.
We were visiting Chicago and had heard wonderful things about Shaw’s Crab House....it did not disappoint! From our lounge waiter Clay, to our dining room experience, it made for a memorable evening. The food was delicious, especially the crab legs and filet. We managed to squeeze in dessert and coffee, highly recommend Shaw’s. Classic!
Love this place! It's been around forever and is always fantastic! High quality seafood at its best!
Very good restaurant. Super service and wonderful location. The food is great. They also offered us a huge taste of their special cakes. Great experience!!
Service was great! Food was great! Probably the best Key Lime Pie I've ever eaten.
Nice - Great
Shaw's has one of the best brunches around. It is expensive, but worth it. It was nice to be able to be seated before all of our party was there. We had a very nice server who took good care of us including coming back 3 times to get beverage orders as everyone arrived. I definitely suggest it for a special occasion.
I love this restaurant! And brunch is amazing there!
The brunch lived up to all of the hype. The amount of food you can and will consume are worth the price. Can't wait to go back.
What a great location downtown - when you walk in it just screams old Chicago. The brunch was ahhhhhhmazing.
Food was outstanding. Ladies restrooms needed attention. Layout was a bit chaotic. Have to carry your buffet food through customers waiting for tables.
Still the very best Brunch in town..Everyone here is awesome! Louis we love you! Leticia is a wonderful server...
I was there for my Birthday and I must say, I will definitely return. My food was amazing as well as the service. Lettie was a really nice waitress and she offered recommendations that made our dinner experience even more delectable!
Service was excellent. Here’s what we got:
Lobster rolls: our favorite of the night. Fresh and light
Lobster bisque: ordered the bowls. Portions adequate, very filling
Blue crab stuffed flounder : huge portions, delicious
Pan seared scallops : scallops themselves were good, however I thought the heirloom potatoes and cherry tomatoes along with the tangy dressing (can’t remember what it was ) didn’t do any favors to the dish as a whole.
Also yay! for a slice of delicious chocolate cake on the house (was celebrating a birthday)
Great meal outstanding service! I highly recommend the hot plate appetizer, Shaw’s Platter, potatoes. The raspberry pie is also amazing.
Outstanding service by their staff! Will definitely be back again! The best seafood I have ever had!
Great food, great drinks, and very attentive staff
King can legs was to over cooked that the meat was to dry
My favorite brunch buffet in the city . Seafood is wonderful, including oysters king crab legs and ceviche. Has something for everyone
The overall experience was exquisite. I will definitely be back!
Our server Courtney was amazing
The food was spectacular
The night was amazing
Solid Choice; lots of locals; a new Chicago tradition.
Great seafood at reseanable pricing. Fun place to hang with friends and family. Great location downtowm.
My wife and I had an excellent time. The food was really good and our service was very attentive and nice. We would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to our friends/family.
Family in from out of town
Our server was wonderful and attentive and the food was good. We both had the perch and it was very good.
Celebrated my mother's birthday with a lunch. Prices are reasonable for a downtown lunch at an upscale restaurant. Shaw's is definitely a classic and never disappoints.
Dungeness crab and red fish were outstanding
Did not have a great experience. Service was unprofessional. Management was very responsive and addressed the issue right away. Previously had a great experience at Shaw’s so we’ll give them another shot next time we’re in town.
Food and service were very good. However, my brother and I were way overcharged and nit advised beforehand we were being charged $32.00 for a large crab cake not on the menu. When the $85.00 lunch bill for two which included only an iced tea and diet coke, it was obvious something was not right.
After asking to see the menu again, talking with our server, and asking for an adjustment to the bill, the $32.00 charge was removed.
I have literally dined at this restaurant for well over twenty five years, but not in the last 10 years. I was pleased to see familiar menu items and the same ambience. I can’t stand how many homey restaurants have “modernized” their places in favor of what I call a spartan, bland, cold Motif. Shaws remains its inviting atmosphere.
I never encountered a situation like my brother and I did this time and I am sure jt was just a misunderstanding which we will not encounter again in the future. As Shaws has the best crab cakes in the world, and I have traveled much of the world, I will be back for more of them.
A Chicago classic did not disappoint. The oysters were excellent but the popular “famous for” key lime pie was grainy. Portions are very generous. Service was personable and impeccable (kudos to server Greg!)
I was very disappointed in the grilled calamari. It was quite mediocre. The Ceasar salad was perfectly dressed. The oysters were OK. The Chocolate cake was sensational. I found the entres to be less than I've come to expect from Shaws.
Was great. Enjoyed the food.
Great date spot, celebrating a birthday dinner. Love the service we get when we go to Shaw’s and the food is the best. Definitely will be back.
Birthday celebration! Everything was wonderful...great food and atmosphere!!
I've dined at Shaw's over a hundred times over the past several years and it has never let me down. And that is so even though I'm allergic to shellfish and cannot eat the signature dishes. The whole red snapper is always outstanding; the sushi can compete with that at specialized sushi joints. Altogether a pleasure!
