Always fabulously positive exoerience, from the waybypu greated to food.
The food and service were amazing. Went for my daughter's birthday for Sunday Brunch. It's pricey but all of the food was fantastic.
First time dining there and it was a great experience! Our server, Clayton, was fabulous! Very attentive, great suggestions and very professional. On the reservation we had mentioned it was for a birthday and at the end of dinner he brought us a piece of dessert. Food was also excellent
A classic. Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. If you're looking for seafood in downtown Chicago, Shaw's has you covered.
Eric was one of the best servers we have ever had. Birthday celebration was above and beyond. Just my daughter and I, but everyone we saw wished me a Happy Birthday. Eric was outstanding from the moment we got seated. His recommendations were spot on for wine and food. We enjoyed a delicious meal and plan on going back. Make sure you ask to be seated in Eric's station. You will have an amazing meal as well as an amazing time. Thank you for the birthday cake with candle also. :)
They raised the price of the brunch by $19 a person. This would be okay if they expanded their offering but they didn’t. Hot items were moderately warm at best. Selection was mehhh. King crab legs are very small picked over pieces. The person serving the filet cut it in thin roast beef like slices. On the flip side both the fried & peel and eat shrimp were good and decent sized and the mini crab cakes were tasty - only worth it if you can eat $69 worth. This per person cost does not include mimosas, champagne or Bloody Mary’s as some brunches do either.
Service and food was excellent!! It was restaurant week in Chicago and I was able to get an appetizer, soup/salad, entree and dessert for under $50. They did not skimp out on the food. I had the sea scallops, which were excellent!!
Really great experience!!
Attending concert at Chicago Theatre after dinner. Dining at Shaw’s before the show made for a great night!
Went there for restaurant week. Spent hours reviewing everyone’s menus and decided to go to Shaw’s. Was very disappointed that the menu they gave me was not the same menu listed on the restaurant week website. Would have gone somewhere else if I knew that. Did not care for the entree selections.
This experience at Shaw’s was a tad disappointing! I’ve had better service and food! Items were marginal in terms of preparation and timing!
Very good service but I could not have Red Snapper
Excellent evening with pleasant servers and really good food. Thank you to staff.
The food was outstanding! The service was outstanding! We will definitely return to Shaw's!
Brunch is. very expensive
Their weekend brunch is amazing! Eric is such a fabulous waiter, and the management team is fantastic. Great place to take family and friends that are visiting Chicago.
Brunch is always delicious
The best food, service and wine selection ! Thank you so much.
Dinner with my daughters, what a great evening. Shaw's could not have been a better venue to get together. Our waitress was wonderful. We loved the crab legs, so sweat tasting. We've been coming here for years and nothing disappointed us. Just a great dinner!
From the first moment, a delightful experience. Best oysters ever. Wonderful scallops. Fresh and tasty haddock. Service was professional and delightful.
It was a classic spot for a classic couple for celebrating our anniversary.
Great as always
We had a nice lunch at Shaw’s on a Sunday. We weren’t aware that they only offer their very extensive brunch buffet in their main dining room on Sundays, and weren’t interested in eating as much as one night feel obligated to at $70 a head. (But, if you’re interested in eating a lot, this looked like one heck of a brunch-the dessert table alone was amazing!) Our waiter was very sweet and explained that we could use their normal menu if we sat in the bar area (that doesn’t open until 11:30 am on Sundays). He offered us beverages while we waited, which was kind.
We were seated in the bar right at 11:30. I had the sautéed perch, which was yummy. My son had the haddock and a cup of lobster bisque, which he also liked. The portions were large. We split a caesar salad. We splurged and had their dessert sampler which included a little creme brûlée, and small (but absolutely adequate) portions of raspberry pie, key lime pie, and triple chocolate cake. They were ALL yummy. Our server was friendly and on top of things. (They make their desserts in-house, btw.)
We go to Shaw’s each time we head to Chicago because we like the 1940s atmosphere and the food is consistently good. It never disappoints (and is always busy, so do make reservations).
