Shaw's has one of the best brunches around. It is expensive, but worth it. It was nice to be able to be seated before all of our party was there. We had a very nice server who took good care of us including coming back 3 times to get beverage orders as everyone arrived. I definitely suggest it for a special occasion.

The brunch lived up to all of the hype. The amount of food you can and will consume are worth the price. Can't wait to go back.

Food was outstanding. Ladies restrooms needed attention. Layout was a bit chaotic. Have to carry your buffet food through customers waiting for tables.

Service was excellent. Here’s what we got:
Lobster rolls: our favorite of the night. Fresh and light
Lobster bisque: ordered the bowls. Portions adequate, very filling
Blue crab stuffed flounder : huge portions, delicious
Pan seared scallops : scallops themselves were good, however I thought the heirloom potatoes and cherry tomatoes along with the tangy dressing (can’t remember what it was ) didn’t do any favors to the dish as a whole.
Also yay! for a slice of delicious chocolate cake on the house (was celebrating a birthday)

Celebrated my mother's birthday with a lunch. Prices are reasonable for a downtown lunch at an upscale restaurant. Shaw's is definitely a classic and never disappoints.

Did not have a great experience. Service was unprofessional. Management was very responsive and addressed the issue right away. Previously had a great experience at Shaw’s so we’ll give them another shot next time we’re in town.

Food and service were very good. However, my brother and I were way overcharged and nit advised beforehand we were being charged $32.00 for a large crab cake not on the menu. When the $85.00 lunch bill for two which included only an iced tea and diet coke, it was obvious something was not right.

After asking to see the menu again, talking with our server, and asking for an adjustment to the bill, the $32.00 charge was removed.

I have literally dined at this restaurant for well over twenty five years, but not in the last 10 years. I was pleased to see familiar menu items and the same ambience. I can’t stand how many homey restaurants have “modernized” their places in favor of what I call a spartan, bland, cold Motif. Shaws remains its inviting atmosphere.

I never encountered a situation like my brother and I did this time and I am sure jt was just a misunderstanding which we will not encounter again in the future. As Shaws has the best crab cakes in the world, and I have traveled much of the world, I will be back for more of them.

A Chicago classic did not disappoint. The oysters were excellent but the popular “famous for” key lime pie was grainy. Portions are very generous. Service was personable and impeccable (kudos to server Greg!)

I was very disappointed in the grilled calamari. It was quite mediocre. The Ceasar salad was perfectly dressed. The oysters were OK. The Chocolate cake was sensational. I found the entres to be less than I've come to expect from Shaws.

I've dined at Shaw's over a hundred times over the past several years and it has never let me down. And that is so even though I'm allergic to shellfish and cannot eat the signature dishes. The whole red snapper is always outstanding; the sushi can compete with that at specialized sushi joints. Altogether a pleasure!

Immediately seated ahead of our reservation time, directed to a corner table which was semi-private and great for people watching. We were on the "white tablecloth" side, but it was not stuffy or sedate. Excellent service from Ruth! Outstanding food, beautifully presented. Will definitely return and probably order the exact same things again: Hot seafood platter with garlic shrimp, incredibly tender scallops, and a crabcake that was moist and crab-filled, not breadcrumbs; yellow perch; hash browns. In spite of being "too full", the key lime pie and raspberry pie a la mode were a wonderful end to the meal.

Shaw's is an old-style restaurant that takes care of its patrons. This is obvious from the host greeting you when you come in the door through dinner to departure where all staff will wish you a good evening and thank you for coming. The food is spectacular well-prepared seafood and steaks with a traditional touch. The service is outstanding.

I took my gluten-free, seafood loving daughter here during special trip to Chicago. Everything was very well prepared and served nicely. Many gluten free options. We waited about 15 minutes past our reservation but otherwise service was good. Tables a bit close but not too terribly to be suffocating. Not a cheap date but well worth it for real fresh, good seafood 1000 miles from an ocean!

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always incredible, but the service this time around was the worst I’ve ever had here. She took almost 25 minutes before she approached our table (we flagged the attention of someone in this time who said they would find our server, a manager then approached and it was still over 5 more minutes before our sever arrived) and when she finally did she seemed incredibly confused and unfocused. She did offer a key lime pie at the end in an attempt to ease the situation which was a nice gesture, but as no one at my table eats key lime pie it unfortunately went to waste.

First time here and was amazed with the polite staff and great atmosphere. Plus the great menu. We had one of the combination plates and I never received such a perfectly cooked steak. Exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it cooked. So perfectly medium rare.
