I took a girl I have been dating out for her birthday. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed they had nothing to offer as a birthday treat. We are both to the age of not wanting to keep up with birthdays anymore but wish there had been some type of recognition the restaurant could have done for her, and me as well!!! A small piece of cake or a candy bar with a candle in it would have been an appreciated gestor. But there was nothing!!!!
Great food! They make this special 7 seasoning brown sugar bacon that is to die for. The sides were delicious too.
Excellent food and ambience. The duck bacon wontons are a must try.
Great steak and catfish. The fries are fabulous and the beef medallions are an I interesting entree.
Exceptional experience from the ambiance to customer service! Food was delightful! I ordered the ribeye. It was flavorfully seasoned, masterfully grilled and very large portion.
Waitress was warm and friendly, food was really good
My husband says his burger was the best he’s ever eaten and my herb and butter ribeye was amazing. I highly recommend the orange glazed asparagus. I order it every single time we eat here. Our server was excellent but unfortunately I can’t recall her name.
Excellent food, good service, and possibly one of the very best meals I've ever had. Somewhat pricy for retirees on a fixed income for a frequent restaurant visit, but for a special occasion as was Valentines, it was great. From the drinks to the desert, everything was about perfect.
Needs a better beer selection of porters or stouts. Food is really great as well the atmosphere.
It was I must say the worst meal that I have had there . both of our bowls of soup were cold. Not up to par taste wise. Drinks overpriced for quality. Salad was warm. Sweet waitress but not very attentive and appeared unkept. Large downfall from previous experiences there
New Year's Eve dinner. The food was mediocre and the portions were small . The service could have been better. I know it was a holiday but a place that charges as much as they do can afford better help.
Great ambiance at the restaurant. Plenty of parking in the front. The food was awesome and great recommendations from the server.
The food was very bland and took forever to get our food. The waitress seemed very shy. The prices are not comparable to the amount Served.
Wonderful food and service. The Southern Fried burger was awesome.
Hummus & fry bread, Indian egg rolls, and definitely the burgers! Vegetable couscous as a side is a must.
Third time I've been to dine and just as superb as the other two visits. Great location for dinner before a Carson Center performance.
This was the first time my wife and I ever are here. We will definitely be coming back.
This place is wonderful. Able to watch people walk around town. People are friendly and the service is great. Food is reasonably priced and tastes great. Cheesecake egg rolls are to die for.
My Uncle and Aunt were in Paducah visiting so we went as a family to Shandies. There was a variety of food options and everyone really enjoyed what they had for dinner. I especially enjoyed the Moroccan Chicken dish! Our waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. Will continue to go back to Shandies!
Our group of 6 had dinner at Shandies on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The restaurant is basically set up for parties of 4, so we were put in an alcove off to the side with a great view of the bathrooms & the door to the kitchen (if you're seated in the main part of the restaurant I'm sure the ambiance is better). The menu offered several items that were appealing to everyone in our group (including 1 vegetarian & 1 vegan), which was greatly appreciated. Drinks & appetizers arrived quickly. Our server was pleasant & attentive. The main courses were both visually appealing & tasty; everyone enjoyed their dinners. Prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
Great food, nachos are excellent as well their burgers & sandwiches. Wife loves the shandy style beer although I wish they carried the Milk Stout Beer year round. Kid friendly w menu available.
Just ok. Appetizers were pretty good but the main courses, not so great. I got the beef medallions and my husband ordered a steak. Both were just ok. We ordered our first drinks and my wine was not good. Not sure what I expected for $7 but that was about all they offered. My husband ordered a drink and they brought it with no ice. Which was weird. He ordered a second drink and it never came. Probably would not go back.
We enjoyed our pre Carson Center experience very much. Food was excellent.
Drinks were average. The BLT was a great sandwich, fries were okay but the homemade ketchup was delicious. The Bacon Vinaigrette for the steak salad was delicious, salad was pretty good, the grilled shrimp were delicious but had a kick.
Server was very friendly however it took way too long for us to get our order placed. We were there well over an hour and they only served me one drink. I would have ordered a few more but they never came back to the table until we finished eating. There were only two of us so not like it was a large party. Steak was under cooked but again I didn't have a chance to send it back because server never came back until it was time to have the check and food was cold.
Terrific spot , indoors and out , Great Food . Excellent Beer choices , Great spot to relax and enjoy Friends and Family
Our server was terrible! The mac & cheese was cold, meatloaf somewhat warm and warm green beans. That was my husband meal and my meal BLT was good but cold fries. Our server had to be in her twenty, she called my husband & myself hun each time she came to our table. Now I am a 54 year old southern woman and I know when a person is saying hun as southerner or is a fake. (Fake!). Oh! not to mention we ordered wine, the first bottle she returned with was wrong then the second bottle they didn't have and finally the third bottle was a twist top (thank goodness) because she left it on the table without opening or pouring it for us. We still tipped because I can't be rude, because I'm southern.
We wanted an earlier time.
OpenTable indicated 7:45 was the earliest.
The restaurant was near empty.
I won't use OpenTable again.
Our server was terrible. Everything took longer than it should have (I was a bartender, waitress, and restaurant manager for years and she did not offer a valid explanation other than she usually bartends). Our food came out cold and you could tell it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. It took our waitress several trips to get our drink refills correct, silverware so we could eat, and the condiments we requested. And rather than be concerned that my sister had barely touch her catfish because it was cold, our waitress informed that she would take the leftovers home to her cat when we didn't want a togo box.
Our two other companions had eaten at Shandies previously and said they were not impressed, but didn't tell me that when I decided to make our reservation. I wish they had. We would have gone somewhere else and perhaps gotten our $100+ worth.
One positive note was that the atmosphere was nice which allowed us to talk easily and with relative privacy. But that's not enough to make me recommend Shandies to friend or family.
Oh, and we were able to learn a valuable lesson in the importance of NEVER parking on the street on Broadway. We watched more than one car bump off the car behind them as they tried to park and/or leave without so much as looking to see if damage was done or leave a note.
Started with the amber shandy (lemonade mixed with beer) and the cat cakes. My husband had the ribeye steak and I had the catfish dinner. We chose the greens, mashed rutabaga and Mac and cheese for our sides. Everyone MUST have the mac and cheese. It's the best I've ever encountered. This is truly the best restaurant in Paducah.
Reserved a table for Shandies because I was in Paducah for the solar eclipse. WOW was I disappointed. The food was average, at best, and the price was very high. AND, to top it off, they didn't have 3 of their "specialty" side dishes...our reservation was for 5:30 p.m. really? out of food already?
We came here for the eclipse, so, needless to say, Shandies was very crowded! Service was good, even so. I ordered an upscale BLT, and ate every morsel of it. One of us ordered the meatloaf sandwich; I've never seen such a large portion. Fried green tomato appetizer was outstanding. Very satisfying, overall, and a prime location.
Several people in our group ordered the meatloaf and it was delicious. I ordered the 8 oz fillet with a butter sauce that was equally delicious. The creamed rutabaga was very good and the macaroni and cheese was a favorite as well. I feel you couldn't go wrong with any item on the menu. I hadn't ate here in a while and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very friendly and did a great job attending to all our needs. Will definitely return.
The food is delicious, wide variety. I have been pleased with everything I have eaten there. Service has always been great and the servers always excellent.
Nice room, imaginative menu items but the implementation was sort of lame, and the wait staff seemed bored. Maybe we hit an off-day..?
Blah, blah, blah, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame on you all
Hostess was not friendly at all. Our waitress, Susie was great but a large party upstairs made our meal really slow in getting to us. I did state on my reservation that it was an anniversary for my friends but evidently, Standish doesn't do anything to recognize special occasions. I never order meatloaf but it was really good. Cat cakes were my favorite item.
Outstanding appetizers included Duck & Bacon Wontons, and Indian Egg Rolls. CatCat Cakes were okay but needed a little more punch. Fried catfish platter was very good, very fresh.
Our waitresses have always been very nice, and helpful. Pleasant to be around. We have came as a couple, brought our family there and returned with friends. My husband and I love Shandies!!!! The food is great!
Seated promptly, had reservation from Open Table, our table was set with menu, appetizers were excellent - French Onion Soup & Deviled Eggs.....
Entrees - Meatloaf stuffed w/ Bacon & Gouda Cheese ,, superb; Pork Medallions ,, tender and flavorful; sides - MAc N Cheese, creamed corn, roasted asparagus - all excellent....
Desserts - Crème Brule - excellent
Very nice upscale restaurant in downtown! Reservations are important due to smaller seat capacity especially during special events in the area.
