Shaker + Spear Ratings and Reviews
Top notch service and food! Mitch our server was amazing and all of our food came out perfect. You have to try the Pistachio crumble and the truffle fries no matter what! Portions are perfect, flavors work so well together. The salty pistachio, tart lemony sauce and the sweetness of the crumble had me dreaming about it for weeks after that I had to have it again. Carolynn Spence is an amazing chef and we are hooked - it's now our go to anytime we are in Seattle. We liked our dinner so much we had to go back for brunch. The herb and wild mushroom omelette was the best I have had. Don't miss Shaker and Spear it's a gem!
From the moment we arrived we were treated like we were important. Our server was outstanding. She was attentive without being intrusive.
It was our anniversary and we were visit g our son out in Seattle with dear friends. At the end of an amazing dinner she brought us each a glass of champagne with a copy of the menu which was signed by the entire staff. Such a nice end to a lovely evening
I’m surprised this restaurant isn’t busier on a Saturday night. Food and service was pretty good and we would come back for another date night or brunch. Highly recommend the crab avocado toast. Minor observation - For this type of restaurant I thought it was weird some of the service guys (bartenders?) were wearing some cheesy black shirts with a printed shirt and tie on them. This is a work uniform? Yikes.
We had reservations but we were 30 minutes early and we were still seated immediately. Our server, Tiffany I think, was helpful and friendly and answered all of our questions. The food was very good. Guess I forgot to mention we were there for brunch on a Saturday. I had the crab Benedict and it was amazing.
The food and the service was excellent as usual. However, the large round table in the middle of the room was occupied by a large group of very loud people who had little consideration for the other restaurant customers. And that creates a very difficult situation for the staff.
We had a dinner for a “couples weekend getaway”. We like a variety of food and are adventurous in our tastes. We had the octopus app and it was grilled to perfection, was meaty, and the sauce was tasty. I had the burger for the main, great cook, good flavor. The chicken and dumplings were so technically well done I was blown away. It sounds simple, but...chicken was fried, skin removed and made into spicy cracklings, carrots, onions, peas, made a great stew that was amazing in a hot pot. Drinks great, service great, a little noisy, but normal for a Friday night anywhere. Mitch our sever was awesome, lovely for providing good advice on dishes. I’d come here again any time.
Robyn was an amazing server! Her colleague, Mitch, was equally as fabulous! They were both on top of things but not intrusive! It was a pleasure to have them as part of our evening! Would definitely recommend Shaker and Spear because of the food and Robyn and Mitch!
Great atmosphere and great service. Our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable, and had a sense of humor. The mostly seafood menu was fun and creative, the drinks were tasty, and the timing of the meal was perfectly suited to our schedule. The wine list is not particularly extensive, but has a number of good choices, and is helpfully divided by country of origin. Overall, this was a great experience.
The food was very good. the best part was our server, David. He was such a nice kid and very knowledgable about the menu. He has a great story too about how he got to Seattle. When we go back we would definitely request one of his tables. Everyone else there was very nice too. And the kitchen was very clean from what we could see. Overall a great experience
Nothing vegan. They couldn’t make the potatoes separate (although there was no one in the place and both cooks were just standing around and that’s easy) and although they had sides of toast and avocado, I asked if maybe they could just put the avocado on toast for me so I didn’t just have two sides. And they brought me back four tiny slices of avocado and two slices of toast. Not accommodating literally at all.
We absolutely loved it! The staff was all so friendly, and the food was some of the best we’ve had in Seattle! You have to try the Octopus! The Scottish Olives were excellent and the succotash with the scallops was fantastic! You cannot go wrong trying this place! We are already looking forward to next time!
We had a very nice time! Enjoyed the prawns and burrata to start. Then had the crab toast and the scallops. All were excellent! Tried the eddie’s teddy and a whiskey based cocktail (don’t remember the name) and enjoyed both. For dessert we had the flan. I loved it!
Fantastic service- our waitress was knowledgeable, very friendly, and took great care of us.
We picked Shaker & Spear as the place to spend our Open Table reward money. It was a great choice! We live in Anchorage, AK and come to Seattle for an easy get away and good food. Shaker & Spear did not disappoint. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun.
This is our go-to spot downtown. The service is always great. The food changes often and is divine, locally sourced. I had the octopus and the shrimp this time, along with a dry rose. Then we all split the chocloate coffee cup and the chocolate moose. Both gluten free! Their options for GF people is really great. Cant wait to go back!
Heidi is a fantastic server! Attentive and helpful.
Restaurant can become loud when full, and then someone on staff thinks it is a great idea to turn the music up (!) Fortunately Heidi was quick to honor our request to have it turned down. I truly do not understand why some restaurants feel that requiring patrons to shout at each other to be heard contributes to a pleasant dining experience.
