Fantastic food. Had octopus - very fresh and tender; scallops seared to perfection; salmon tartare was flavourful. Service was attentive and consistent - very professional and personable.
We had an enthusiastic table nearby which made conversation difficult but the food was outstanding overall.

Once we got to our table, our experience was very good. However, we had a 7:45 reservation for a Thursday night. We expected to be seated right away and instead waited 1/2 hour. While waiting we were sent upstairs to the next door lounge where I ordered two different glasses of wine- both of which they were out of. They proceeded to bring me another option - which cost more than both of my choices. Once we got to our table, the salmon tartar appetizer, the Arctic char entry, the asparagus, and popovers were great. Before we got a table, we almost got up and left. And the craziest thing is is that the table they finally sat us at was open when we walked in at our reservation time. Huh?

Much overrated. The whole snapper came literally fried to a crisp...inedible. Also had their version Snappy Shrimp and it was so heavily salted, I just had to stop eating it.
They had a VERY limited wine by the glass list...even though it was on their list, they were out of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Would not recommend.

Fabulous find in Seattle! Rose was the best person taking care of us - wish we lived closer! We actually recommended them to a family of 3 who asked us how the meal/experience was AND they walked right in!

Nicely done small setting with a very original menu featuring lots of seafood. The truffle fries are fabulous! Waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and how to pace our orders. It was a very nice dinner!

We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and decided to have dinner at Shaker +Spear after reading the reviews. We had a great experience right off the bat when we were seated right away even though we were 20 minutes early and brought a glass of Vouvray and congratulated on our 50 years. Wow! Someone was paying attention! We had a wonderful meal with very attentive service. I ordered too many small plates because everything sounded so good, so I had to take 4 boxes home with me. For dessert they brought us a candle lite cake and an amazing menu/card signed by all of the staff. We were blown away and will be telling all our friends and family about this small restaurant in Bell Town that knows how to serve interesting, delicious and beautiful seafood and pays attention to details and more! We will definitely be back and Thank You for making us feel so special!

Great food with great service. I live in the neighborhood and have been curious about this restaurant for a while. Glad I finally tried it! Chicken was cooked to perfection and the shrimp scampi was the best shrimp scampi I've ever had. I 'll definitely be coming back and whether you're a local or visiting Seattle, TRY THIS PLACE!

Second consecutive trip that we have been to this lively spot twice. We end up going back because of the innovative menu, great food, and ambience. Never mind that we are older than anyone else in the place. We get great service. Best dining experience we have when visiting Seattle.

The hype didn’t really live up to my expectations. I reserved a table for 4 . 2 of my friends were running a bit late so me and my friend ordered drinks and wanted to order a appetizer. Drinks took forever to get to us and the waiter wouldn’t let us order appetizers as he said we had to order all our food at once. Just not a great experience if someone wants to eat something. Food was just ok. Octopus was cold and there was no truffle on the truffle fries. Probably won’t go back.

The food was very good. We felt rushed because the wait staff demanded twice that we order our complete meal ... starters and main course at the same time. After pleading, the waitress agreed to allow us the order starters so that we might try the food and see what the portion sizes were like. This was helpful because one of us ordered a second starter as the main course. We couldn't have done this with the demand to order everything at once.

Enjoyed a great dinner with my sister, Mom and Dad. We had the salt cod app and beet salad and I tried artic char for the first time and loved it. My Mom and sister shared the Paella and loved it! The desserts were incredible! Will definitely be back next time I come to town to visit!

We were celebrating our anniversary and hoped for a special dinner. Shaker + Spear was amazing! We started with the charred octopus, over the top flavors and presentation. We chose Paella and Artic Char, perfection. For dessert we had the lemon meringue pie, heavenly. The level of service and the way the staff worked together was seamless.

My boyfriend, I and two daughters ate brunch here as our last meal in Seattle before returning to Austin, Tx. We decided to come here because they had a nice brunch variety and had excellent ratings. The food was really good. We started with Rosemary popovers which were crispy but kind of bland, the whipped butter served with it was unsalted. However the Cod Beignets were delicious! The Eggs Benedict, Shaker burger with truffle Parmesan fries, and two egg breakfast with bacon and skillet potatoes were all yummy. The bacon must have been derived from a heavenly pig, so so good. We would recommend this place for brunch!

Our group of four was in town for a conference. Tired of the conference buffets, we chose Shaker and Spear for a nice dinner out. The sommelier recommended a fantastic local white wine as we all intended to have seafood. We each ordered an appetizer (smickles, olives and pickles, octopus, and salmon sashimi). Every one of them was delicious. For entrees we ordered the diver scallops, whole snapper, and one dish I cannot recall. We all enjoyed our meals immensely. I had the snapper which was meaty and the sauce flavorful and brightened up with the grilled lime I squirted over the top. The arugula salad served in the middle was the perfect accompaniment. I only wish was had room for dessert as those we saw served looked amazing. The staff were friendly, informative and attentive throughout. If in the area I would definitely return and highly recommend.

Wow, what a great cap to a fun staycation weekend (We live in West Seattle). The service from the minute we walked in was top notch! Our waiter gave us recommendations and steered us in the right direction.
The open kitchen and watching the chefs work is always fun for us.
Drinks were great too

Will go again.
