Outstanding in every way!
A really, really incredible meal. We had the sage fried olives (a do not miss), as well as the delicata squash salad, the octopus, and the chichen and dumplings. Great service, and nice ambiance, though we were a little chilly. Next time we will layer up!
While visiting Seattle looked on Yelp for fine-dining, fish options, landed here and had a wonderful experience. Service was exceptional as Mitch helped us with the nuances of the entree options. We started with the crab & artichoke dip, Yum! As it turned out all 3 of us went with the Atlantic Char entree and its pairing with the potatoes and leeks was outstanding (unfortunately that means we can't expound on the full breadth of the menu, but if the Char dish was any indication, well-worth checking out). When i commented on the impressive wine menu, Mitch connected us with Ryan who gracefully guided us through the Walla Walla offerings that piqued the interest of an uninformed Californian. Overall, two-and-a-half hours well spent!! We'll be back in Seattle in January to explore more of the menu (...and wine list). Thanks Mitch & Ryan.
Everything was fantastic. Food was outstanding. Service was excellent.
My friend and I wanted a special place to celebrate our October birthdays, and we were both delighted by our first-ever experience at Shaker + Spear. First, a huge "Bravo" for the valet parking service that's available at very reasonable rates. S + S is located within the Palladian Hotel, which is surrounded by massive traffic AND construction. Next, the menu is small but extremely creative, and the food is delicious! But by far, the real reason for this 5-star review is our server extraordinaire, Adam. Not only did he offer insights into the menu, but, because he's also a bartender, he shared his expertise while recommending the most delicious cocktails. He never hovered, had the courses timed perfectly, and made us feel like we were the ONLY table to which he had to attend. Adam is a superstar, and is the main reason that we've decided that we MUST try S + S for dinner!
I love Shaker + Spear food and its friendly and very professional service, yet the noise level is a but on the too much side, as a lot of restaurants.
I recently made my 3rd visit to Shaker + Spear, and their food has been fabulous. We have tasted approximately half of their menu and have not been disappointed.
Everything was great and our server was amazing! Efficient, friendly and very knowledgable. He even brought us a complimentary glass of bubble at the end of our dinner. The food was excellent!
Reservation was running a little bit late, but they have a nice upstairs cocktail lounge and they were apologetic. All dishes from start to finish we’re well executed including the recommendations from our server, Kate. To top it off, they had my favorite bottle of Spanish Tempernillo!
The food was excellent. However, there was one assistant waiter who refilled our water glasses while touching the bottle to the top of everyone's glass... Not cool.
Excellent service, delicious food, pleasant great ambiance.
The food was excellent and the service was great, but the cost was not quite worth it for brunch. I was shocked when I saw the bill - lots of fees for add-ons. For example, adding cheese to my eggs was $6! What?? I would come back, but I would only order one meal and no drinks/extras.
I rarely write reviews unless the experience was great or really bad. In this case, it was tremendous. Food was outstanding, reasonably priced, and service was excellent. Def on our list of favs in Seattle!
Mitchell was an outstanding server. He provided perfect pacing of our meal. The paella and steelhead are a must try!
I always like the service and how the dishes are presented. The flavors are really good too.
Lively restaurant, chill vibes, server was nice, The food was outstanding. The wait, however was a bit long. Around 45 minutes from when we ordered.
Sat at the chefs counter which was awesome! Intimate place, nice vibe and amazing food. Definitely check it out!
I was expecting more from a Kimpton Hotel. Valet parking isn’t located at the hotel entrance due to the bike lane - it’s around the corner and there is no valet stand just a sign. We parked there but then we’re asked to go upstairs to get the valet receipt. A kind restaurant employee did that for us.
The drink selection is average. Menu was limited but interesting. Salad were very generous in size. Food was good but lacking in seasoning. Brussel sprout described as roasted with ginger. Couldn’t find a hint of ginger.
Never did find out if there is a dessert menu as non was offered. Could be that they were short handed as the were only two people handling the room and one was also bar-tending
Also, valet parking for an hour and a half lunch was $18. And required that we go upstairs to pay and back down to wait for the car. It’s a messy situation for a very casual restaurant (more like a cafe with cocktails) and cumbersome parking.
Ok place. Limited menu and they ran out of the main court I wanted. Food was good, not great.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! Super creative dishes, fabulous food - would highly recommend. Buzzy atmosphere, attentive staff especially Katie our lovely server who was a delight. We will be back! Thank you for a great evening. X
We waited 30 minutes for our reservation to be ready. A sparkling water took longer than expected. And we were told to put in all our orders at once by the chef both apps and dinner which was odd. Server seemed very out of sorts: short, hectic. When food was served servers didn’t know who order what. Service in general seem out of sorts and lost. Food was excellent as always. Very delicious.
The service was great! We ordered many items, but the charred octopus was fantastic! Highly recommended this place.
We really enjoyed Shaker + Spear and thought it was our best meal in Seattle. They just switched to the fall menu. We had smickles and sardines with calabrian peppers to start. Then had the beet and feta salad. We split the whole snapper and lamb meatballs for the main course. Everything was excellent and the service was wonderful. We will dine here again when we return to Seattle.
Not enough waitstaff for the number of people there; the pancake was a pan cake...too heavy the latter was more like a coffee with froth; we were asked to leave at 11 so that they could set up for lunch.
I absolutely loved Shaker + Spear! I came here for my boyfriend's birthday and we had an excellent dinner, which ended with a birthday dessert that came with hand written notes on a copy of the menu. Very thoughtful. Our server was extremely attentive and knew everything about the food and wine on the menu. I would recommend the charred octopus and the scallops!
First impression--WOW! The staff are friendly and full of joy. We were immediately seated and Robin, our waiter, was super friendly and full of welcoming information. Robin provided us with information on food options and she helped us design an amazing meal. The open kitchen design allowed for us to watch the Chief and her team!! Iron focus this team. Food was made to order and full of flavor. I can not speak a hard work towards to staff, food, or ambiance. We fully enjoyed our meals and the seafood was fresh, fresh, fresh.
We had 11:30am lunch which is actually a brunch menu and very different from their dinner menu. The service was excellent. We had standard brunch fare (pancakes, eggs benedict) and it was very well executed. Our server was great and promptly refilled our coffee cups without us having to wave her down. While this is a review of their brunch, I have had dinner here and it was excellent!
Fantastic through & through-can't wait to return! The scallops were the best I have ever had & the service & attention to detail outstanding!
Fantastic Chef. All the dishes were delicious, with unusual and complex flavorings and textures. A real foodie treat!
Very tasty food and top notch service. Highly recommend.
The food here was absolutely amazing! We had seafood in every bite and it was glorious! Wine list was very good and paired nicely with the amazing seafood
Outrageously delicious. We got the chicken and dumplings (plate licking good) and the seafood paella was equally spectacular. The appetizers and drinks were perfect and ambiance was delightful! A+
Very warm and friendly service, delicious food (Scotch olives!!! Chicken and dumplings!!!) Perfect pre- theater nosh!
Everything was tasty. You should definitely try octopus. Raw oysters were so fresh. The service was really good too.
We celebrate most of our occasions here - it's a special place with great vibe and great food!
Great food. Excellent service. Easy to be there.
Great food and drinks. The waitress had great recommendations. Will definitely be coming back again.
This is a very upbeat, progressive, fun place to eat. The food was excellent and the service, flawless.
Our son suggested the venue, so it was our first time there and our brunch was great! Love the menu and the dishes did not disappoint. Very happy that we could make a reservation and they sat us at a round table. Perfect! We will go again.
