For starters, rack of lamb and kashk bademjan (Persian eggplant dip) served with fresh house made bread straight out of the tanoor oven are great options. Some of Shaherzad's house specialties include grilled on skewers white fish, boneless chicken kebab, beef barg and lamb shish kebab served with your choice of rice specialties. The Persian tea perfectly complement a homemade dessert at Shaherzad, such as bamieh, a Persian donut infused with saffron and rose water.

Good Persian food done well. Prompt and attentive staff. Only negative was that it was a bit chilly.
We loved the food, it was big portions and delicious.
The service was ok, and they do not always accommodate changes in the menu. For example, if you want to have half and half from different kind of rice, they do not let you do that. you need to choose only one kind of rice. Which in other Persian restaurants they give you this option. Overall it was good, and we hope to come again.
Outstanding food and service
Amazing food! Great service!
Parking can be difficult but the food is completely worth it! Great service and absolutely the best Persian food on Westwood Blvd.
Five of us went to dinner here. Everything was great. The only reason I didn’t give it an outstanding is because the hummus is not very good. It’s bland, clumpy, and just not good. Even the supermarket are better and those are just ok. The pita that’s served though is better than ones I have had at other Persian restaurants. It comes warm and isn’t dry like some others.
The food was great as always.
Absolutely loved the cuisine here. Authentic tasty food in generous portions. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful staff and incredible food.
They are still as good as the competition, but under new ownership the portions have been somewhat downsized, the prices somewhat elevated, and the the quality of the bread (formerly baked in a Tandoori oven) decidedly lowered
Great service and everything else was terrific!
Best Persian food in L.A. (from a native). I'm Persian and I always take my non-Persian guests there.
Waiter didn’t ask how to cook the lamb. It was over cooked service was slow
Very good food. They had bottles of California wine as decorations on the wall, but when asked if they had wine, they only offered “Persian” wine.
Good Persian food and wonderful home-made bread. The rainbow trout was excellent but the herb stew with chicken leaves something to be desired both in terms of presentation and flavor. Delicious rosewater ice cream sandwiches. Friendly and prompt service.
Service was very slow even though it was not very busy
The food is so tasty and very unique to an American palate. The stews over the crispy rice are delicious and the appetizers are great, enough for an entire table to share. Our waitress was not a attentive as other servers I have had in this restaurant, but everyone else was extremely nice. If I want Persian food, this is the only restaurant I come to.
Pick some place else on Westwood Blvd if you want good Persian food. Average food and nothing special for the price they charge
Very nice Persian food if that is what you are looking for.
Looking for kabob late at night? Standard Persian restaurant. Large portions.
Meal was amazingly authentic. Service was slower and non attentive. Music was up loud and skipping, but was never corrected. Go for food, but not for other restaurant qualities.
Maybe it's the wood-burning stove. Maybe it's the freshness of the ingredients or the consistently good service. I go back often and will keep going back
We come back for multiple reasons and I enjoy the favors from Shaherzad. My friend who as introduced to the establishment wants to return for more.
Very generous portions. Order to share.
Awesome breads (house-made) and yogurts. We loved their herbs/onions/sumac appetizer. Very good food. Mush have tart cherry rice. If ordering an entry per person prepare for carry-out.
Overall the food was okay and the service was really bad. For example our water was only filled once during the entire meal and it took them about 30 mins to take our order.
Incredibly delicious authentic food, a great experience!
The rack of lamb wwas so very good.
Westwood Boulevard south of Wilshire has one of the highest concentrations of Iranian-Americans in the country. Accordingly, competition among Persian restaurants is intense, with all good and some superb. Shaherzad is in the latter category with food ranging from very good to sublime. Notable is the bread, universally, loved, the skewers, and the stews. If you are unfamiliar with Iranian food, it can be a bit overwhelming, but the servers are friendly and can usually explain things. We didn't like waiting near the door for a table, however, and would appreciate a bit more friendliness when entering.
The food was wonderful. I had the chicken barg, and my husband had the chicken kebob with a special rice with orange and pistachios. Very tasty. We also loved the special bread, brought to our table straight from the oven. We enjoy this restaurant very much. The servers are very friendly and attentive, the food is always consistently good, and it is always filled with diners; we love the energy.
Food was good, service not so good. It did not seem that the waitress who served us cared so much to work there. She had an attitude of doing us a favor by serving our food order. Every time she was at our table ( total 3 times, taking order, serving food and at the end of our meal) she repeated " do you NEED (ehtiaj dareed) anything else" instead of " would you like to have anything else" ( mail dareed?). Perhaps she was never trained how to serve in a restaurant. I would like to emphasize the food was good.
