When long time local Kevin Valaika convinced his brother, Head Chef Robert, to come to Park City three years ago, they had one thing on their mind: skiing Utah's famous powder, and combining their many years of experience with Asian cuisine to create a unique dining experience for Park City locals and visitors. Their dream comes to you at Shabu, where they offer a freestyle blend of their favorite Asian cuisine; exciting and nourishing weary skiers from all over the world.

Shabu Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is downstairs from its Main Street entrance. It's pretty small and the tables are pushed pretty much together. I think the space between our table and the one with another couple next to us was about 6-7 inches. It was rather loud - we were ok with that but if you are looking for romantic & intimate - this isn't it. I would describe it more as a fun ambiance. Service was good.
The food was very good and we really liked the Firecracker Shrimp. We had several sushi rolls and all were very fresh and quite tasty. Price was reasonable for Park City Main Street. It was our 1st time there and we'll be back.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SHABU. Everything about the restaurant, the staff, the food, ambiance, decor, location, value, is SUPERB. Best sushi and creative dishes. I love letting the knowledgeable staff determine my meal and beverages. Thank you Jay, the most amazing sushi wizard in Park City; Tim, your professionalism and service is so ON POINT; Erica, your creativity behind the bar is exceptional; Jordan, you a local gem- you provide incredible hospitality and enthusiasm for excellence; Kevin-the leader of the pack...You do a phenomenal job keeping the entire restaurant and staff happy. You always make me and my guests feel warmly welcomed and so happy to call Park City home. Shabu does not disappoint. Come to laugh, have a great time with friends, relax and enjoy the another beautiful evening in PC where EVERYONE is happy to be there!
For the first time, dinner at Shaba was disappointing. The hot rocks were inconsistent and one person at the table did not get their meal until the rest of us had finished. The service was not to the usual standard of the restaurant. Overall a very disappointing meal.
We decided to share one of our favorites, Shabu, with foodie friends visiting from Tx. Blistered green beans to start, shrimp for the table and a combination of drinks and wine. Two of us ordered the Black Cod (a favorite of mine), one had the Wagyu Hot Rock and one had a dinner of sushi. ALL of us enjoyed Amy, our server who was prompt, helpful, engaging, happy, (okay we requested her, she's ALWAYS awesome!)... and left feeling like we'd exposed our Tx friends to one of the reasons we love living here in Park City. Seated outside, we enjoyed other diners as usual and didn't even have time for people watching.
I ate at Shabu three weeks ago and had a fabulous dinner. Tonight was not the case. They were out of my favorite blistered green beans and then announced right before our dinners came out that they were out of chicken which was in one of our entrees. Slow service and just an off night. I will go back and hope for better next time.
They did take 25$ off of our bill for our troubles.
Great food, and the ambiance is unmatched. Felt like the service was excellent, the menu was interesting and a little unique for a Japanese / sushi restaurant, although they had some classics. Some of their signature roles are incredible. On the pricier side for sushi, but worth it, in my opinion. Also, their potstickers are absolutely incredible - best I've had.
Fantastic restaurant. The food is hands down, brilliant, tasty, and diverse. The sushi is great, but the starters are enough to make a meal out of to split with a group. The miso cod is to die for, as are the blistered green beans, and the beef on hot rock. A foodie's dream. The decor is also really authentic and creative.
We ate outside on Main Street as we had a stroller and two kids, so the stairs were a problem. It was a nice evening so it was great. The service was good even though we were the only ones out front as it was early. Food was good. Our Daughter had two sushi rolls and said both were good. We had the fried rice w/chicken which was really good, the spring rolls, and a beef item w/vegetables. All was good. These items w/three drinks ran $160. before tip. Would recommend for a fun meal with friends or family.
The food was delicious and it was nice to find good bimimbap. The service was off, however. One of our party ordered two appetizers as his entree and didn't get his second entree until after we were all done eating. The waiter tried to give an excuse that it was to enjoy the meal more. All the food was brought out in waves and not all at once. Would try it again, but maybe with a smaller party?
