We love this local gem! Well, so do a lot of people because it is getting harder and harder to get a table! For a decade we have been enjoying fresh sushi, handrolls, pot stickers, Shabu Shabu, green beans with peanuts, scallops, and so much more. We never get bored with the menu. The kids love to cook the beef slices on the hot rocks. Every meal is an adventure. We are hesitant to share this gem, as we would like to keep it all to ourselves. But I guess the word is out already!
Took a long time to get our food
Best food on Main St, consistently great. Good atmosphere, very nice staff.
Shabu is easily one of the best restaurants in Park City.
Interesting and delicious combinations—the black cod was amazing, loved the scallops appetizer and the poke bowl. A little heavy on the sauces— all very good but certainly not subtle! It was also noisier than we expected but we enjoyed the fun vibe overall.
Excellent in every way possible! We went so celebrate my son graduating from high school
Probably the 3rd time we've taken guests to Shabu for dinner...and we'll continue. We always have a wonderful time! This time was no different. We started with the blistered green beans - one of my personal favorites (can't get enough of them) wish I could figure out how to make them at home so I could try some of the other starters! Moved on to the hot rock with Waygu Beef. If you haven't tried that, it's not only delicious, it's fun! A special kind of "cook your own" but always scrumptious!! My entree was (is always - again, I know I need to move on to other dishes, but I can't bring myself to pass it up) Miso Black Cod. Our guest had the same (swooning the entire time) and he had sushi. Chef Bob is SO TALENTED!! Amy, our server is so delightful and knowledgeable, we'd go back more just to visit with her . As always, a highlight in our world.
Always great. Love the fire cracker shrimp, pot stickers and mu shu duck
Amazing service and food. A must when in PC
Our waiter Ian was fun, helpful and courteous. Shoutout to Tom the bartender. The atmosphere was fun and the food was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back
The entries we had were very tasteful. Potions were rather small. I strongly believe that they were worth maybe half of the price we were charged . If you want to spend for two entries and small appetizer over $100 go to Grappa Italian Restaurant. this is elegant restaurant with creative meals and most importantly there were clean, white, spotless table cloths .
Food was good. Loved the hot rock. The Shabu Shabu was a bit disappointing, but still good. Prices here were a bit crazy for the food, but it is a resort town.
Kids loved the hot rock Waygu appetizer. Very friendly and hardworking waitstaff on a busy night
This is by far the best restaurant on Main Street. I always have an amazing whole dining experience here and am never disappointed (which is hard to do in Park City). The owners of this restaurant are terrific, family oriented people who take care of their employees and you can tell based on your experience. The Cod entree and firecracker shrimp appetizers are must haves- order a few for the table!
Fantastic as always! Shabu is a must try if you are visiting. Chelsey is the best!
Incredible flavors. Lots of fun and incredible variety of dishes
Delicious food in cool and casual atmosphere.
Try the blistered string beans
Great food and casual atmosphere!
Our best experience in Park City.
Service was outstanding, super great, and food was excellent.
Party of 5, and we all loved it. Awesome place.
Way overpriced for average quality food. Service is good. Way too noisy & crowded, they cram people in.
we understand we are at a ski resort town, but nonetheless Shabu is not worth going to. Plenty other better options in town.
I felt rushed, we ordered several small plates and they were delivered at the same time. Waitress seemed to just being her job, she was not friendly at all. She was really not interested in our dining experience. The tables are very close together. Great firecracker shrimp.
Servers gave our table the wrong food multiple times but the food was great
Very pleasantly surprised by Shabu...the hot rock and yellowtail jalapeno were standouts. Maybe bc it was St Patricks day things were off but sushi took forever to come and tough to get waiters attention a lot of the time. But food v solid.
Waitress was not attentive, entire place filled with screaming kids
Very cool ambiance and although I think it would be a better spot to go with friends, it was a great dinner with the kids. Water was very friendly and engaging with the kids. We hit all the top spots on our vacation and this was the most memorable.
We were in from DFW to snowboard and enjoyed Shabu so much that we had it twice. Sushi was very good and so was the other fusion dishes. Highly recommend the Cod, chorizo and duck wrap, yellow fin tuna and jalapeño starter as well as the Waghu beef (seared on a hot stone).
Beer selection is good. Wish i would have tried some sake.
Friend joined us who visits during the summer and said prices are at least 50% more in winter. It’s good but pricey in the winter.
Great food! We all enjoyed! Loud but that was fine for us with small children.
The food was absolutely fantastic, creative and fun. It was easily the best restaurant we experienced in Park city for the whole week.
Reservation was made for 915 and although we arrived 20-30 mins early they still didn’t seat us until 945. The place is very small and everyone is squished together. Not good if you want an intimate setting to have good conversation or family time as it’s so loud you can’t hear anything unless you’re yelling . We ordered sushi at 9:50 and didn’t receive the five different rolls we ordered until 1 hour later. That’s ridiculous seeing as though nothing needs to be cooked! They said they ran out of rice and delivered the order to us in pieces instead of all at one time so everyone could start eating at the same time.
I particularly loved the comment from the hostess that stated “ everyone decided to order sushi so we are really behind “. My thought was...aren’t we in a “sushi” restaurant??
Bottom line.... food is good. But ambiance is noisy and crowded and service is slow and disorganized. I wouldn’t repeat unfortunately.
We were a family part of 8 and picked shabu based on its reviews. I definitely give it 5 stars. The place was packed ams our server was quick to keep the drinks flowing and he service was great. You have to get the potstickers, one of the best.
Went with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. So, getting the worst table (a hightop by the kitchen door) in this tiny, noisy restaurant was a disappointment. We’ve eaten there in the past and were disappointed with the food (tasteless seafood tempura served with a tasteless sauce etc). In fairness the pot stickers and squid salad were excellent as was the service.
The restaurant was way too loud. Hard floor, hard table tops that were too crowded together gave all the acoustical ambiance of a parking garage. Everyone was shouting to carry on a conversation at their table. So for most of the dinner, our family didn't talk. Portions were too small, but tasty and very over priced. Not much choice on the menu for our teenage kids. Service was average at best. "Ski shots" with 3 shots on a ski taken by three people at the same time with some patrons missing their mouth seemed to be the popular dinner activity. If you're more concerned about looking chic and being seen than having a fine dining experience then go to Shabu. I had a much better conversational environment, better service, food equal in taste at 1/4 of the price at Squatters restaurant in Park City.
We loved Shabu! We are there twice. The cod is what they are famous for, but do not miss the green beans and shishito peppers. Yummy! Aimee and Brian were wonderful servers. We will be back!
Good food. Pricey but within Park City standards, cool decor. Recommend the crispy coconut tofu. Would go again.
Waygu kinda bland, Shabu Shabu kinda bland, Green Beans amazing. I dunno. 5/10.
Love you the cozy ambiance, very cool vibe for an Asian restaurant. Food was fantastic, waiter Jordan was top notch, the Hot Pot entree was awesome!
Shabu offers a very lively atmosphere with creative and delicious Japanese fare.
An array of Asian food in a hip setting and a welcome addition to Main Street’s offerings. Sushi was average and not much of a fish selection, but the cooked dishes were unique and delicious. Servers were helpful, knowledgeable and fun.
Always the highlight of our trip to PC!
The food is amazing , delicious and unique . The overall experience is tons of fun!
