this restaurant is consistently one of the best in the neighborhood for food, service and ambience. I look forward with each visit to the cocktail and wine selection, the amazing bread, sublime deserts and seasonal specials.
the best food and Stephanie is wonderful with excellent suggestions
Terrific food and ambience - cozy and perfect for a enter evening
We were seated in the upstairs private dining room as we had a group of nine. The service and the ambiance were sensational. The food is always outstanding. I hope we were not too noisy! Thank you for making our celebration fantastic..
Consistently GREAT food and lovely staff!
Pappardelle never disappoints.
Great night, Stephanie is wonderful behind the bar.
Need to get back for the bread pudding!
An amazing restaurant. Pricey but everything is terrific. Small, curated but well executed menu, attentive service, intimate atmosphere.
Delicious food and cozy vibe. Great service!
Waiter was super friendly and attentive. Would have given 5 stars overall but the kitchen service was too fast. We were a table for two and the entree arrived almost immediately after the appetizers were removed from the table. The entree plates were removed seconds after the forks were put down. I don’t think they were intending to rush us but I don’t care for this speedy a service. Next time, we will purposely ask them to slow it down.
Atmosphere was nice and the staff was very helpful and intensely familiar with the menu. The food was good, albeit a bit fancy for my taste. I would have been more at home by seeing some more familiar items. Regardless, the dishes were great and we had a great time.
Favorite place!!! Love the food staff and perfect ambiance!
Fantastic food and service. Looking forward to our next visit.
The service was quite good. However, overall the dining experience was very disappointing. The menu was very limited (the online menu seemed to have more first course options). The portions were very small for the price and the food was fair. The prices are ridiculously expensive: our bill for two people was about $90 including with tip for 2 soups ($16 x 2); 1 pasta Bolognese ($22, appetizer size and not good); salad (~$16). I have lived in the neighborhood for many years and now I know that Sfoglia's expensive prices are not worth it.
Magnificent, as usual!
Love!!! It’s the best of the upper east side! We go again and again!!! Great vibe great food!!!
Great local restaurant with delicious food and rotating menu items based on seasonality. The staff is incredibly hospitable and welcoming. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and have been back many times. We look forward to many more dinners
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with great ambiance.
One of the best meals we had during our week long holiday in Manhattan.
The best and mosat creative food on the east side!
Good food and delightful atmosphere. Had read about this restaurant in a novel and it didn’t disappoint. Had the pork porterhouse and the pappardelle bolognese. Both delish, and are way too much bread, as it was worth it. Finished with the chocolate torte, so good!
The room with brick walls gets to be very loud as the evening progresses.
Our party had trouble hearing each other.
The food is amazing as is the service.
Amazing meal, as always! Great service from every staff member. A welcoming ambiance - cheerful and full of warmth. We love dining here!
This place just never disappoints. The bread pudding is always worth pre-ordering -- it's just over-the-top fantastic. They also have an incredibly reasonable $20 corkage fee. Splitting pastas is always a good idea. The cheese board was smaller, with fewer selections than I had remembered -- not sure if it's changed over time. Terrific ambiance. One of the best restaurants on the UES.
Amazing food, professional and kind staff. Second time here in last month. Love it and introduced more people to it this time around.
Our food had sat under a heatlamp for a while it seems.
Wonderful food and service, highly recommend
Only 2 servers were wearing masks. We saw at least 6 workers without masks. We took our food home
All our employees are fully vaccinated and we adhere to the highest safety protocols required, both now and before the pandemic.
The service was insanely slow. Raw appetizers that were uncooked took 40 minutes to receive . Yeah pasta was too salty, cheeseboard had a sliver of cheese- very cheap offering
Great food and ambience. Excellent service!
This is one of our go-to favorites for special occasions. Love this place.
Everything was delicious! Love the menu. The outdoor area needs more heaters.
Great pasta with a beautiful mood. I got the best time with my fiance. Thank you so much.
Really nice atmosphere and service. The Cesar salad was excellent, the 2 pasta dishes were quite bland. Nice place for a date but not if looking for good homemade pastas.
Truly a real Italian experience....very few as authentic in NYC...Sfoglia stands out as a jewel in a sea of Italian Restaurants in NYC.
Love the ambiance, food and overall experience.
Made a reservation for the following week on our departure.
Really nice spot. Food was good although the meal felt pricey. Biggest issue is we were seated for an 8:30 reservation just to be told all kitchen orders needed to be placed by 9, and when we finished eating around 9:30/10 it felt like we were being rushed out of the door. With a meal that expensive you want to be able to savor it - not rushed through the experience. They shouldn’t allow reservations after 8 IMO.
Wish we had the income to eat here more often. We enjoy the ambiance as the food is good.
Absolutely amazing! I have been a long time customer and this restaurant never disappoints.
It’s my favorite restaurant in NYC.
