I had dined at The Jicama Grill (Seviche's predecessor), and also at Seviche in something like 2008, so was eager to see how the place compared to my memory of it.

We started with the "Chicharrones De Calamares" which is fried calamari with olives, cumin lime aioli, and sesame mojo. The menu didn't say slices of green, yellow, red, and jalapeno peppers also accompany the dish. I detest olives; they were able to accomdate the request to keep them out. The aioli brought some heat, the sesame mojo brough some sweetness, so that was an interesting contrast. The jalapenos upped the heat just a bit more. Very good start to the meal.

Entrees were the Pacific swordfish, with chorizo-poblano rice, smoked tomato, and fried leeks; and a bigeye tuna special with macadamia nut rice (another side which I can't remember, sorry). Both entrees were excellent, arriving hot, cooked perfectly, and very flavorful. The portions were reasonable as well, which I guess tends to be the case with seafood.

Dessert was the warm flourless chocolate torte with bourbon dulce de leche and coconut crema. Good but not great.

Service was spot on all night long; wine glasses did not go empty, and the waiter also stopped by occasionally to check in. The only mis-step of the night was that the calamari arrived before the wine.

Also note we had bypassed the valet parking, and found a street spot very close to the restaurant.

Overall a very fine dinner, and better than I remembered.

Every aspect of our meal was excellent. The PEI mussels, when they are on the menu, are delicious.
Our server, Chris, did a great job. Always present at exactly the right time but never hovering.

One of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. Can't go wrong with any of their cocktails but love the Ferrari Margarita. Started with the crab ceviche. Salads are very generous so splitting one is fine. The charred romaine is fabulous as is the green chile Caesar. My husband had the scallops. 3 large, sweet scallops on a bed of cheddar grits. I had the churrascos chimmichurri and am never disappointed. We had the flourless chocolate cake and added some ice cream. It was a lovely dinner and we highly recommend.

Was upset that we ordered several courses: appetizers, salad entree. The wait staff brought over the first two courses together. Very unpleasant

One of our favorite places. The prices are higher than in years past, making this more of a special occasion spot than the regular date night spot it used to be for us. However, the food and service are consistently wonderful. Loved the Ghost Writer and bourbon mojito.

We came to Louisville to celebrate our birthdays and visit some of the local distilleries. The food was very good but for the price of the meal we felt a little shorted. The lobster ceviche was $23 for 4 "big bite" pieces. The empanadas and arrachera beef were very good. Empanadas, lobster ceviche, split beef, dessert and drink each was $150 with tip so that's pretty steep. I would try another place before I would go back.

Our dinner was wonderful, the service was outstanding and the environment was perfect for a date night birthday. Chris (Money) delivered each item with perfect timing. We never felt rushed but always had food on the table. We devoured everything we ordered: pecan encrusted Brie, lobster seviche, oyster shooters, pork chop & seared tuna.

We had a dear friend visiting from the NY City area--a very tough restaurant grader. She loved Seviche, as did my wife and I. Everyone, from our wonderful service person, Marge, to the kitchen staff, food deliverers and parking attendant , was skilled and accommodating.

We look forward to our next visit.

Best,

Dan Koger, Ph.D.

We celebrated my birthday at Seviche. We were both so pleased. We split an order of the calamari - delicious. My husband ordered the fish tacos and really liked them. I had the special tuna dish and it was perfect. The tuna melted in your mouth. Dessert was the chocolate tarte. Very good. Service was great. The waitress was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions

Food was excellent however, service really missed the mark. I took my girlfriend for her birthday dinner, yet no mention of a birthday, no candles on the desert, or anything to indicate that the night was special in anyway, despite other tables getting the treatment we were hoping for. Service was slow after the appetizers, and we left really disappointed after what was supposed to be a special dinner.

Everything we ordered was amazing. From the starter to dessert. Get the avocado desert, while avocado ice cream might not appeal to everyone it was one of the best desserts I’ve had this year, very unique and innovative. Service was outstanding not over-the-top, but always there when you needed them. House cocktails are fantastic, I will be back for sure.

Our first visit (two couples). Wow. Seviche is everything you read and more. The entire experience was excellent. Christopher was masterful as our server. The food was exquisite, beautifully prepared and presented. The depth of the flavors in the churassacos was unreal. You cannot go wrong with this gem. Yes the prices are stiff but they're worth every penny. Darned good guacamole (and I'm a snob). The bigeye tuna special literally melted in your mouth. Coconut flan; smoked serrano pecan brittle. Nough said. Scott

Six of us dined this past Saturday evening at 7:15 after making reservations through Open Table
I asked for a quieter table and explained that my husband was deaf in one ear. I also said that this was a birthday celebration....mine...and the restaurant choice was mine.

We were seated by the kitchen door in the middle of the restaurant and literally could not hear each other. I complained and our server was excellent and after about 15 minutes they put us in a much quieter place. If that had not been available, we would have left...the glaring light of the kitchen door opening and the inability to hear were a show stopper.

I saw two other people get birthday desserts with sparklers but I was not offered one, although we did order dessert. This is not the waiter's fault....it's the fault of the person who reads the open table reservations and records them. Whoever tha t is should be reprimanded. I would not choose this restaurant again for a special occassion, although I love it.
