Seviche A Latin Restaurant - Highlands Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation and were seated right on time. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered ceviche ahi tuna. Although it was fresh we were disappointed it was bland. We each had a vodka and cranberry which was good.
We ordered the striped bass dish. The plate came with a sauce that was also somewhat bland. It came with 1 tiny baby carrot and nothing else. The bass was a decent size just not very tasty. For the price of the dish we have to say it's not a good value. Unfortunatley, the $150 we spent could have done much better.
I had heard a lot of good recommendations about Seviche. Our experience lived up to what I had heard. Our group had apps, entrees and deserts. Everyone raved about each item. The servers were also very friendly and made great recommendations. Great food!!!!
I was a little worried about dining out on New Years Day & as expected food was not the best Ive had there! Food temp was luke warm & we waited longer than usual to get out food, as if had been sitting too long on counter. Scallops were overcooked, strip steak as well. Seafood stew dish was heavy on the curry sauce.
Other than that I love this restaurant, casual cool décor, drinks & seviche always delic!, our waiter was very good!
Our visit was the day before New Years Eve. Saturday night at 6:30 for 3 people. Greeted with valet parking on a very cold evening and were escorted into the restaurant 5 steps from our car. The hostess was welcoming and we were treated with a surprise visit to the hostess stand by celebrity Chef/owner Anthony Lamas.
The best presentations on every plate. Starter was Brie which was almost too gorgeous to the eye to eat. We feasted on the most perfect Caesar salad, truly the best ever calamari, empanadas, Mahi Tacos.
Only to not be disappointed with a dessert of black cherry ice cream. Which was blackened with charcoal! “Genius”... served with crime and bourbon infused cherries! Don’t wait this restaurant is run by a chef and his team that love what they do and it shows in everything they do.
Our server - Chris?? ( light slightly reddish hair with a beard. Took our picture in the front corner.) you were awesome! Thank you ! Food was great. Service was better. We had a great experience! Been to this restaurant many times and love it still. Will be back! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the scallops are amazing.
Very awkward start to our meal....we pulled in to the valet at exactly 8:08pm for our 8:00 reservation. We had been traveling from FL to KY and had delays flight related. We did our best to arrive on time. At 8:08 my phone rang and the hostess asked if we were coming. I said we were here. She gave some awkaward explanation about a table after us and neededing to relocate us if we were going to be late. I was confused who was coming in that late to the restaurant that was already less the half full! We proceeded in. No one was at the front desk. We waited and waited. Eventually a gentleman showed up and looked unimpressed with our presence...4 kids (16, 16, 12, 9) and 2 adults. The table was clearly not ready. The hostess arrived and let us know they were still working on it. Okay...good thing we were not on time! After probably 10 minutes we were seated and the service remained mediocre. It took several minutes to even be greeted by our server and she remained okay throughout. We are excellent dinners from our nine year old up! We order cocktails, bottles of wine, several appetizers and the best of the best entrees. The food from start to finish was GREAT. We only wish the service and way we had been welcomed matched. Sad to say this happens more then it should.
Our time at Seviche was amazing! One of our party who has lived his entire life in Louisville but had never eaten here said it is now his new favorite restaurant! The food was very authentic and healthy portions fitting the price. Well worth the visit and we will be coming back! Try the ceviche dishes, the shrimp appetizer, and the steak and chimichurri
