Severn Inn Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful ambiance, particularly outside on the deck at dusk. The food was tasty and with a nice presentation. However, I did find the price a bit on the high side for the serving but chalked up my exorbitant bill as a premium for location/ambiance. I'd try again for brunch or a less celebratory meal.
Severn inn provides a beautiful view of the Severn river and the naval academy from the waterside deck or the inside windows. The food eas delicious and the service efficient and friendly. Dining while the sun goes down is particularly nice. Great spot to take out of town visitors.
I loved the relaxed atmosphere of this place. We arrived early enough to get a front-row table by the water. The view was spectacular. The waiter was wonderful with one of our friends who has allergy issues, helpful and attentive, and the food was delicious. It was truly a perfect afternoon. We will definitely make a return visit!
I went for Sunday Brunch, & they have changed many things. Omelettes are made in the kitchen, & they are much smaller. Also, they were over-cooked.
The variety seemed to be less. This used tome a great go to Brunch place. However, they still have unlimited mimosas!!!😊
It is a great place to spend a leisurely lunch with friends. The food is good, although a bit on the expensive side, and the view from the outside eating area is tremendous. The several times we have been there with old friends we have been able to enjoy lunch at a relaxed pace, allowing us time to reminisce and catch up on events.
Followed a friend's recommendation, NOT disappointed.
We ate a late dinner out on the deck. Enjoyed a great crab cake, fried green tomatoes and corn mix!
The ambiance is terrific. Enjoyed the bridge and waterfront views.
Our server, Brandon recommended the coconut cake with peaches - delicious.
We met our friends at the Severn Inn, and all immediately agreed the place to sit was outside on the deck. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Naval Academy and the Academy Bridge. Our drinks were delicious. Our server gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu and make our selections. Dinner came, NJ Day Boat Scallops, Maryland Crab Soup, Grilled Romaine, and the house salad came at a very nice pace, and even better, the food was delicious. It was a wonderful evening.
Open Table asks "How was your Visit..." . Answer can only be "Perfect". We had reservations for our Anniversary dinner, but with the pleasant evening weather, elected to take advantage of an available table on the over-the-water deck (no reservations accepted). We continue to explore other restaurants in the area, but ultimately return to the Inn as our !st choice. Seafood is their specialty - and one of the only places in town that understand what "seared" tuna should be. From the crab appetizer to the Baked Alaska, it doesn't get any better. The food, coupled with the service and ambiance, provides for an exceptional experience. Cheers to the Back & Front of the House!
Great spot for brunch and probably any other meal. The setting is awesome, being right there on the water. The service was very attentive. Nice variety for brunch. The omelet wasn't as good as I expected it to be but everything else was good. Loved the smores at the dessert table. Seafood seemed fresh.
The display of foods for the brunch menu was not appealing. An order for eggs or an omelet had to be given to the waiter. My husband's order for scrambled eggs with cheese arrived watery with some mozzarella cheese sprinkled on top. The crab dip was also watery. Most of the food was not seasoned well. The view was great.
Great get-together location with friends who came from the Eastern Shore. Enjoyed the ambiance of sitting outside on a summer evening. Our Server was quite informative as to the menu (food and drinks) and was able to respond to a variety of questions.
We enjoyed the time spent; we were not rushed. Good value for the food and venue.
My first visit was on Thursday 8/10 and everything was wonderful. We celebrated two friends birthday and Conner our waiter was terrific. There were 7 of us in the party. I went back on Sunday with three family members and the ambience was still wonderful but the service was poor. We had to ask for everything including the napkins and the silver ware, salt and pepper. We were celebrating a birthday but were never asked about dessert or coffee/tea. The bill was brought and we left bit I was very disappointed. After such a wonderful time on Thursday to such a total different experience on Sunday.
Great evening on the deck at the Severn Inn. A must visit restaurant in Annapolis. Deck seating on a beautiful day gives views of USNA with water lapping against the shoreline.
Crab dip, Crab Cakes, Tuna and Rockfish were all hits st our table. Service was efficient, but not rushed for a fantastic evening with new friends.
We'll be back many times!!
A truly great view of the Naval Academy and the Severn River. The tables are spaced to provide quiet business conversations inside and out. The service is good with minimal intrusion. The menu is small focusing on what is fresh. Delicious food and they can make what you want with the ingredients on the menu. Their specials are a personal favorite. Parking is ample and there are steps. Highly recommend
We visit Severn inn once a week during spring summer and fall.
Summer always has the same problems
Not enough help in the kitchen.
Our dinner took 2 Hours and 15 minutes to come to the table.
Drinks took 38 minutes to come to the table.
And then another 30 minutes for second drinks.
And the bar was empty.
We spoke with a manager who while very nice
Simply agreed with us that it is a continuous problem.
We love the views, the staff is warm and friendly but the service issues continue to haunt this restaurant.
We sat outside and enjoyed the evening catching up with friends we hadn't seen in awhile. The server gave us lots of space to take our time but was very attentive and was professional. The food was outstanding! Very fresh! The ambiance was perfect for a summer evening.
The best part of the experience is the view across the Severn River at the US Navel Academy. From there it starts to go downhill. The restaurant has a limited menu and as such you would expect each item to be outstanding. Unfortunately our team experience fell short. The entries are very expensive compared with other restaurants in the area. Again, if the quality of food were there this would not be a problem.
My wife got the grilled salad and I got the cream of crab soup. The salad was not good and the seasoning was not very tasty. The crab soup was very good with generous lump crab meat. The waiter did not offer pepper and we had to request salt and pepper shakers for the table.
The main courses were very disappointing. The crab cakes were mostly filler and my Wahoo can only be described as eating dried out chicken. With so few choices you would expect the dishes to be expertly prepared. To say the least the overall experience did not encourage me to want to come back for another visit.
